4 Weeks post-op. With 4 weeks of nothing but gout attacks from one joint to the next.

My husband is 4 weeks post-op and is having the worst time of his life. What can be done for his gout? He was told he can't take any of your typical medicine for gout, but yet he is in severe pain.
