I honestly cannot take in more than 600-700. Some days maybe a bit more. I've heard I should be getting 700-800 but I have no appetite other than meal periods and can never finish my plate. I don't track like I should at all Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Thank you! Upon multiple searches via google and many others resources I could not find anything to reassure me that I was on track and not slowwwww. This chart helped a lot. Saving for future reference and to help other doubtfuls. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Yes regular diet. I think I decided to steer clear of alcohol. Idk, haven't fully decided. Reading responses and lots of info online. I just don't want to do anything to hinder my sleeve or my progress. I thought about using the "i can't drink due to a medicine I'm on" however 3 out of the 12 of us are nurses so I'm afraid I'll get tons of questions. You know the domino thing when one lie is told?? Ugh. I may just go, and say I have work early in the am. Idk. Still waiting for that miracle response. Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Dr says I won't lose another 100lbs

If I were you, unless it changes to early to mid December, I would hold off until January. You want to enjoy the holidays with your babies and follow through with traditions. I had a pretty standard recovery other than a brief stay in the hospital week 2. You never know what could happen as far as complications and you don't want to spend Christmas in the hospital. Many people are readmitted into the hospital due to dehydration 1-2 weeks out. I personally wouldn't take that risk so close to Christmas Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Help! I think I'm dying
gustavio replied to ginaandy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When something is really wrong, it is normal to get a feeling of impending doom. It's your body telling you to seek help. So I suggest you go to urgent care. If your doc is just saying it will get better and not telling you to come in, id question him as a doc for sure! Are you urinating regularly? If not, that is the first sign of dehydration and that can result in danger if not addressed. Poor nutrition, in extreme cases can result in potassium deficiency which makes you at high risk for cardiac arrest. Also, there are many Vitamins that your body needs to function and if you aren't getting them, it needs to be addressed immediately. I am no doctor but I am a nurse and have been for years. So please take this advise and get checked out. Best wishes. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
So, I'm now on the "eat what you want" part of my diet. It was easy before today because I had meal plans and followed it. But now, I can eat what I want all the sudden? Has anyone eaten the lean cuisines, weight watcher meals, etc. Ya know, the super convenient freezer meals? Or is it better to stick with fresh foods? Also, off subject but, before surgery I was hot, ALL THE TIME. it was never to cold in my house or office. I would freeze everyone out setting my thermostat at 65 and keeping it there. Now, I am always freezing! Is this normal? Anyone else experience this? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What questions can the newbies ask?
gustavio replied to hudjess's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
There are very nice and helpful "vets" here. Ask away and ignore the negativity if you get any. Although, remember that tone is hard to determine through text, so some things you take offense to, may have just been interpreted wrong. I've had rude people but I've also gotten defensive for reading to much into people's response. Good luck. There is lots of great info on this site. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Encouragement for the hungry new postops
gustavio posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So today was my first day of zero hunger. Yep, that's right I said zero! No head hunger, no real hunger, nothing. At 6pm I realized that I hadn't eaten a bite and not thought about it all day! Yes I know that's not good but I will now have to remind myself to eat. This is a learning process but I feel I hit a milestone today. My NUT and several people on here have said that the head hunger will soon go away as long as I didn't feed it. Finally at exactly 7 weeks post op, it happened. Now I can finally, for the first time in my life, eat to live and not live to eat. When I did finally eat it was 730pm and I still wasn't hungry. I had to make myself do it because I knew I was well overdue. I took a 60g Protein shot at 7am and a 30g protein shot this evening so I got my protein in for sure. Hang in there hungry people it gets better. I've had a rough go and every single day gets better. Oh, by the way, whoever has read my previous neurotic posts, MY scale STARTED MOVING AGAIN! Good luck! I never gave in to it except a couple times I'd eat later in the evening than I should have because my head told me I was hungry. But never ate junk. We can do this I'm sure I haven't seen the last of my mind telling me to eat badly or when I'm not suppose to but I'm sure glad that it's over for now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App First time I cooked my kids dinner since sugery and oh man the smell of the pizza crust was appealing. Nothing wrong witg enjoying smells. I'm having yummy onion and beef soup pureed then added Water to make it thin) I've reminded myself that one day when I'm in the maintenance phase and not weightloss phase I can add some carbs to my diet. Just not today and that's OK. Pizza has always been my weakness. I love the smell, the taste, the look omg. Love love love. I could have eaten it day and night. However, I've found my tastebuds have changed so much. When I was allowed cheeses, I tried the toppings off the pizza I ordered for the football boys that seem to live at my house and it was disgusting to me. I ordered it from my favorite place and ordered cheese pizza which is also my favorite. I am glad to say I have no desire to eat it ever again. Like I said, it didn't taste good to me but most important, my body said NO to it and I was hurting for 10 mins or so afterwards. I only had 2 bites before I decided I didn't like it anymore. Let me tell u, my work has been a rough spot to be the last 7 weeks. They literally order take out every single night and order nothing but delicious CRAP! The whole office would then smelll of this food once it arrived and I would go warm my chicken and broccoli, or whatever bland dish I had brought with me. I just keep telling myself "this is not suppose to be easy, but it's sooooo gonna be worth it" As my coworkers waistlines are expanding, mine is shrinking. that's enough motivation for me. Looking forward to going back to work and seeing if the head hunger stays away when the office fills with the smell of Red Robin or Olive Garden or wing stop. Lol. I work 7 days on and 7 days off and go back this Thursday. Stay tuned....... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Head hunger is a b@tch! So glad that it seems I have finally overcome it. I even went to the store and packed my friend a care package (she is in the hospital) full of junk food and candy. Drove 2 hours with it all sitting next to me and had zero desire to eat it. Doesn't even sound appetizing to me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Can't get my protein in..
gustavio replied to nannare's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank for this cause I had my surgery Tuesday and I'm hating these protein drinks I got about 15 grams of protein yesterday I will try this Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App I swear by Genepro Unflavored. I put it in my hot tea 3 times a day. 90 grams protien quick and easy. It's not clumpy ( keep temp under 140) no taste no smell. It makes it look milky but I love it. I couldn't drink any powdered or prepared shakes. It caused terrible cramps, diaherra vomiting. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App I too swear by it. But I do think it has a horrible smell. Which is why I mix it with just a shot of milk. I have a very strong sense of smell.....My husband didnt smell or taste anything when in had him try it. I suppose everyone is different. What I really love is that it's a tablespoon instead of a large scoop. But really, I would never have gotten to my protein requirements If not for this stuff. I had literally tried everything! So I do not complain every couple weeks when I go spend the $35 on a canister of it. Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Can't get my protein in..
gustavio replied to nannare's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought medical grade gene pro unflavored Protein. One table spoon if it is 30g or protein. I use 2 tablespoons in a coffee mug, add a splash of milk, hold my nose and chug it down in 2-3 swallows. That's 60g of protein first thing in the morning. Then I don't have to stress. Then before bed, I take 1 tablespoon with a swig of milk. So I'm getting well over 100g a day (including diet). I too was struggling hard getting my protein because I couldn't stand the smell, let alone the taste. With that being said, the unflavored still has a smell which is why I hold my nose. You can order GENEPRO on amazon or get it at GNC. It really was a lifesaver for me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Help! I'm so scared I've spent all this money for nothing
gustavio posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so depressed. I am not a whiner or crier but I've been so upset this past couple weeks. I think my surgery is broken. I was sleeved aug 25,2016. I immediately lost 16 lbs before September came. Then my September weight loss for the ENTIRE month was 11lbs!! ONLY 11lbs! Those 11 lbs were the first 3 weeks of sept because I haven't lost a pound for the last 2 weeks! Every day I step on the scale and cry again. I know I shouldn't weigh myself daily but I'm obsessed and cannot help it. I use GENEPRO and get my Protein in, but fluids are not up to par. I eat 3-4 times a day and no Snacks except a couple days I snacked on a piece of turkey Jerky but once the bag was gone, I haven't snacked at all. I don't know what to do. I'm so scared this won't work and I'm destin to be overweight. I was so excited to do this and read success stories and looked at pics. I had such high expectations. I expected to be 45 lbs down by now. I'm only half there so I feel like I'm failing. Can I hear from some slow losers that have long term results? I need reassurance badly!! Is there anyone this surgery just didn't work for? Come one, come all, I need to know what I'm dealing with. Love this site, it's so informative. I've gotten more advice and help through this site from anyone anywhere. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Anyone treated for H . pylori
gustavio replied to Gripp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
He didn't retest me after my round of antibiotics. I guess he assumed it was gone? Idk. But then after (3-4 weeks after surgery) he says "hey did we ever get a follow up stool sample from you" I say "no" so he scheduled it. Just came back pos again the other day.
