Dumb question ahead......Ok, so I know we aren't allowed to have beverages with meals and I haven't at all although it kills me. I am a thirsty person. I have a beverage near me at all times and always have. So I'm having a hard time fighting the urge to reach for my cup after each bite. My NUT told me not to drink with meals and I haven't but she didn't tell me why. Does anyone know why? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I couldn't for a while but now I can take bigger drinks. Preop I could drink the shakes and was fine with them. It's like my taste buds changed completely after surgery! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

My plan allows light mayo and Refried beans Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Mine does too. Ground meat is also allowed starting the 3rd week. Add those two together with a bit of shredded cheese on top and I'd call that a taco (without the shell). Same, I never liked a bunch of crap on a taco anyway. Tomato, ground turkey, taco seasoning, green onion, fat free refried beans and a little salsa. Yummy Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I did not want food. Didn't even want liquids for weeks after surgery. I had to force sips of Water. I can't imagine wanting to stop on the way home from the hospital Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I did good to swallow water! Let alone real food! I could not imagine the people that Sabotage themselves like that so early, will have a very successful outcome Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

That's scary!! I wonder what happens to people who eat pizza or a burger the day after. Their stomach is gone - so how do they get back straight? I know it's horribly dangerous. Wonder what their final outcomes are. People actually attempt pizza and burgers!!!!??? I would kill for just the toppings off a slice of pizza but I know better Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Literally my doc told me a story of a lady that ate a pork chop 1 week post op and it almost KILLED HER! not killed her pain wise. It literally almost killed her. It scares me enough to follow my plan! Glad everything worked out for you. Not following their recommendations could be catastrophic Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How long before you could go back to work? (desk job/non physical)
gustavio replied to ella37's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You should have no problem then. I work 12 hr shifts and my boss has me on desk duty for 6 weeks. I went back after 1 week. I was fine with work. Few post op complications but had nothing to do with work Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

My doc said our "pouches" cannot be stretched because the elastic portion of the stomach had been removed. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App If you couldn't stretch your stomach then why would they have sleeve revision surgery? Is VERY possible to stretch your new sleeve or pouch out. That's a huge reason some have issues with weight regain after a few months post op WLS Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App Well I'm not trying to start a debate. Im just saying what my doc said and what I've seen many many times on this site and online. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Thanks, and believe me, I am starving, which is probably why I am not losing weight. I hate every single food on my list right now. Right now I just hate everything- I hate feeling sore, I hate the time I have taken away from my young son because I have been recovering. When I think about how I let a surgeon take 85% of my stomach out, I want to throw up. It seems so barbaric. I wish I had tried harder to lose this weight on my own or love myself no matter what what size. I wish I could rewind time and cancel my surgery. Plus my mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer recently and I just couldn't have done this at a worse time. I'm really struggling. Just think when your son is older you can be more active and be healthy for him. Try not to focus on all the negatives at this time and think about long term. You will get there. Sorry about your mom. That's tough. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I'm at 3 weeks and 2 days. I've lost 17 lbs in those 3 weeks, consistently losing around a lb a day. However the last 3 days I've stayed the same and even went up a pound. I've read of this 3 week stall and am terrified that my body is gonna stop losing weight. I'm gaining confidence by the day but would hate to stay like this. I know this forum is flooded with people needing reassurance but dang. I'm frustrated already. Ps, I finally feel normal post op-no pain and energy is back. Yay!! Thank you! Sometimes it helps to know why something is important. If your NUT doesn't tell you why something is important, it's hard not to justify reasons for not following the rules. I appreciate the feedback. I will not be giving in to the urge Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Omg so I progressed today a stage diet wise. I am now allowed toast. So I made a slice and ate a couple bites with a few bites of beef stew. BIG MISTAKE! I'm miserable. Take it from me, just because the paper says you can have it, listen to your body. I will be going back to puréed for a few days. I don't want this feeling again. On a more positive note, the first person told me I look like I've lost a bunch of weight today! She was the first one to notice. (I've lost 24 lbs) it felt good to hear. Also, my clothes are so baggy but at the rate I'm losing, I don't want to buy anything new. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
