Anyone treated for H . pylori
gustavio replied to Gripp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had it before surgery, took the antibiotic regimen and then weeks after surgery they tested again. Still there. Have to go see doc Monday to see what their next plan of attack is. Surprised to find out that 3 out of 4 people have h pylori. It's very common and most don't ever find out they have it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I basically am. Just slowly adding more variety. Same portions for now. Same low carb and high Proteins. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Omg this looks amazing I am excited about my sleeve and super happy but can't wait till Clear Liquid goes away definitely have to try make something like this I have been collecting recipes I have a lot to try when I can wait to eat eggs or cheese lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App The restricted diet seems like it takes forever but looking back it flew by. It sure did suck while I was on it. Especially since I still had a family that wanted nightly dinners. Lol. Congrats on your new changing life! I'm excited also! I'm 6 weeks out myself. My crock pot is really my favorite thing right now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thanks for the ideas. I just made some crockpot chicken verde. Dump 4-5 boneless chicken breasts, low sodium taco seasoning, one white onion, and a large jar of verde salsa all into the crock pot, turn it on high and leave it cook for 3.5- 4 hours. Take each breast out and shred it, add it back to the liquid in the crock pot and stir. (Do not get rid of any of that liquid goodness, the chicken will soak it up) For toppings Add some cilantro, tomatoes, lettuce, fat free sour cream, refried Beans and shredded cheese. Holy cow, was it amazing. Packaged my leftovers and froze them for future lunches. What leftovers I had left lol, my family devoured it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thank you and congrats! Great job! I have been staying low carb also. I am allowed "all foods" now also and I LOVE LOVE LOVE salads. Always have. But there isn't enough Protein in a salad. But I'll admit, I find myself ordering them often since I don't really like meat. I've never been a meat eater. I always try n pick out my chicken and eat it first. One restaurant salad will be 3-4 meals for me. But again, not the protein I'm needing. Wish I was more keen of meats. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App There are vegans and vegetarians who are post WLS. Do a search and figure out what they eat. I would love to live on veggies alone! I'll have to check that out. I hate being required to eat meat. Blah Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
There's an "eat what you want" part? Dang! I should have shopped surgeons better. I mean, I'm still suppose to watch carbs, fat and calories and have no added sugar, but when I say "eat what I want, I mean I have no texture restrictions. I'm Beyond puréed and soft-to no reatrictions. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I really do love this app. I appreciate everyone's advice and reassurance so much!! Today is a better day, anxiety wise. My scale still hasn't moved but I am now in a large shirt (down from a 2X) and I can SEE MY COLLARBONES! ugh, my long lost collarbones. I haven't seen those fellas in years. I took a selfie today and Usually have to take 20 before I get one I like. Today, I was happy with the first shot. My confidence is slowly coming back. I've posted a pre surgery selfie and today's (sorry bout the lighting. My husband was asleep so I didn't want to turn on the light) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

My NUT said it's a good Protein packed snack. But, it does have a lot of sodium. Serving size is a third of a bag. I only eat 1-2 smalls pieces a day while I had it. Haven't eaten it since. Not really a fan of meat period. Let alone dried meat Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Thanks. I need to get with my NUT. I swore she said 64oz protein and same for water. I could be wrong. I am not exercising like I should. I work 7 days in a row and work 12 hr shifts, have a 3 hour total commute and so that leaves me 9 hours to shower, make dinner for kids, and sleep. Plus I work at a desk. Then I am off 7 days straight. The 7 days I'm off, I have no trouble exercising. But then I go right back to the next 7 days sitting on my tail end. That cannot be good. Right? I would feel uneasy if I don't weigh daily. I wish I could put the scale away and not do it. But my OCD kicks in and I tell myself I HAVE to weigh in. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Possibly! I'm NOT usually an emotional person. AT ALL! As I mentioned, I'm high strung and a bit crazy but not a crier. It doesn't help that it's the anniversary month on my dads passing and a friend was in a terrible car wreck and my son(my BABY) just joined the Marines. So this has been one hell of a month for me emotionally. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

It's nice to hear that the results I've seen from other people aren't realistic. I don't know if I seen posts from people who weighed much more than me or what. Probably so. My BMI is 38 (down from 41). I barely made the required BMI so I guess I was being a bit unrealistic. Wishful thinking I suppose. Thanks for your timeline. It helps to hear people's stories that are around the same BMI. I know they say not to compare but it's hard not to. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

When can I stop using protein powder
gustavio posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So are you vets still using Protein powder/shakes as a supplement or do I get to do away with the god awful stuff someone in the future? I know I cannot now because I cannot eat enough to even think about getting any amount of protein in my body. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Idk-I'm a woman, I'm emotional, I want what I want and when I want it. Damnit. In all seriousness I banked on 30lbs loss every month. When it became apparent that wasn't happening, I crashed emotionally. It seems my big mistake is comparing to others results. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

My doc didn't give me a guideline for calories but I'm not getting more than 600-700. Fluid is suppose to be 64oz. But I'm probably getting 40oz. I've never drank much. Before surgery and as long as I can remember I would go every other morning and get me an unsweet 42oz peach mango tea from the station and that lasts me all of 2 days. My husband says I'm a camel. Now I try harder to drink and only Water tastes good to me now so I'm drinking what I use to drink in 2 days, in one. My docs protein goal for me is 64oz. Which I take 30g of GENEPRO twice daily and then count on my diet to get the other 4 grams. So I'm sure I'm exceeding my protein goals. Thank you for the encouraging words. I have never been one to need them and constantly need validation but this has been a trying time for me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Thank you for your honesty. the 27 lbs I've lost include the 7 lbs I lost on pre op diet. I guess I was watching other people's weight loss on here and thought I'd be similar. I thought my stall was over yesterday when i stepped on the scale and I had finally FINALLY lost a pound and was 218.6 but then today, I'm at 220! I knew I would be heavier today because I felt bloated. I shouldn't even have stepped on the scale because it triggered an "episode". Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
