Amazing. Love seeing everyone's progress. Surgery in 2.5 weeks.... Sent from my LGLS770 using the BariatricPal App -
Thank you both for posting. I am 31 years old and I don't want to spend another 20 years on yo yo diets and waiting until I'm 60yrs old to make a complete lifestyle change. I want to do so much and I know this is my opportunity, I work for a hospital so whatever the insurance doesn't cover is waived. So I'm getting the surgery practically at no cost. I will never have this opportunity again. Your both very inspiring. Thank you. Sent from my LGLS770 using the BariatricPal App

My story of screwing up. Support? Ideas?
dccarite replied to Hopefully A Butterfly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Give yourself credit where credit is due. You started out at 500 lbs. You're at 340, regardless of weight gained you are better than where you started. The therapist is a wonderful idea. It sounds like you only fell back into what is comfortable for you because you were experiencing uncomfortable feelings( grief and loss). It's natural for humans to do this. I don't think obesity happens on purpose. I think it's a mental disorder ( These are only my opinions by the way. I do have a master's degree in mental health counseling so I'm only going based on my opinion/experiences). We stick with what's comfortable even subconsciously. You experienced a loss of your only friend, that's traumatic. You're beating yourself up for something you weren't necessarily in control of. A therapist will help you identify new coping skills for life stressors. That's the problem with emotional eating it's our only coping skill. We need to learn to restructure our thoughts( it's possible but takes lots of work). You're reaching out so you've already started. Btw I wish I could take my own guidance... I'm getting the sleeve in 3 weeks. It's easy to spew out all this information but hard to execute the behaviors. I hope this was helpful. Sent from my LGLS770 using the BariatricPal App -

October 6th surgery date. liquid diet starts Sept 22nd it's two weeks. I bought every thing but my Protein so far. I'm going to drink the Isopure grape flavor. It's pretty good and is 40g of protein. I have started my Vitamins and really trying to not drink during meals that will be my biggest challenge. I am buying some containers and a scale to help with food portions after surgery. I also bought popsicles molds to make protein pops. I feel like I'm ready. I do have a 2 yr old son who I will still have to cook for after surgery so I'm a little nervous about the temptations. But I know I have a a lot of will power. I decided in May I was going to loook into weight loss surgery and after the first seminar I never smoked another cigarette. I just pretty much put it in my head I couldn't do it. So I'm going to do the same w the temptations. Sent from my LGLS770 using the BariatricPal App

Any October 11th Sleevers out there?
dccarite replied to MickiinFL's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How long is your pre liquid diet ? I start mine Sept 22nd. We should keep each other updates after surgery... Sent from my LGLS770 using the BariatricPal App We should! I have my pre-op appointment on sept 19th. I'm also starting in the 22nd! I've started testing and trying to find some broths and Protein powder and shakes that I like. So far the only thing I know for sure is that I HATE the GNC lean shakes; they like make me nauseous and the one I love with is Orgain is not going to have enough protein it only has 21g per 8 oz serving lol!! How about you ?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I actually found Isopure at the Vitamin Shoppe it's like a Gatorade consistency. It has 40g of protein in one bottle. So I got the grape... It actually taste pretty good. So I added some Water to it to make it last longer and some mio grape drops taste like coolaid. I got icepop molds also I'm going to make my own popsicles out of the protein. I have a bunch of different Soups and yogurt shakes, cottage cheese is allowed on my liquid diet so I'll be using that as well. I did buy some shakes to change it up a bit. The eas strawberry Protein Shakes are good. Sent from my LGLS770 using BariatricPal mobile app -

I'm scheduled for surgery October 6th. I know I want more kids. I have a 2yrold son right now. I'm think one or two more later like 1.5 - 2 years from now. Some people have said why lose and have surgery just to get pregnant later on. Well I am 330lbs. It's not healthy for me too have a child at this weight plus I don't even think I can my hormones are completely unbalanced. I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are. My hope is that in 2 years I'll be in the habit of small portions and overeating won't be an issue. I'll have a good exercise routine in place & I'll be prepared. dccarite replied to Kelleylu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cosmic Fist Pump to this post !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So damn glad I listened several months ago and had my sleeve. Life is now able......and meant.......to be lived !!!! I love both of these posts. My surgery is 10.6 and I get second thoughts at times. But posts like these reaffirm me. Sent from my LGLS770 using the BariatricPal App -
I told my close friends and family. I told my boss and my employees as I would need a week off. I don't care what others think. I figured I'm going to be drastically losing weight why not just tell the truth. I know I've tried everything under the sun to lose weight and now I have severe health issues so I have to.
