ReadySteadyGo replied to jmegirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They do have finance companies they work with, but I really can't help you there because I borrowed from family. -

ReadySteadyGo replied to jmegirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
With NO insurance I paid (with all the pretest including) almost 15,000. Plus 150 for fills when I go. Some are more some are less. This is the price for the United states in north louisiana. -

I think the worst is over
ReadySteadyGo replied to djw6171's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
concentrate on healing and you will be fine. I think I took off four days, but I have a desk job. Just take care of yourself, promise? And congratulations on this HUGE step towards self improvement. -
How many fill visits a year on average?
ReadySteadyGo replied to amaltha's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That really depends on your Doctor and on your own weight loss. I have been banded sixth months and just got my third fill, there are many people who were banded the same month I have that have had 8 some even more. Some only one or two. One lady gets one every three weeks, some every six, some every eight. It varies. -
I have had three fills and for two of them I did have very angry bruises. It's normal. Don't fret. I mean if it takes up your entire stomach call the Dr, but if it just small don't let the darkness scare you. It will go away.

Quit smoking (again) and broke my barrier
ReadySteadyGo replied to ReadySteadyGo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks. It went okay it wasn't a large one, but maybe with my (once again) renewed commitment not to drink while eating and making sure I am getting more Protein and less carbs it will really make a difference. -

Yeah. I'm not feeling my dr. and he isn't filling me. In fact I have only had one fill from him, his pa has done the other two...and I don't care for her much. I want to find a new place to get it done. Wow, 8. How often do you go? -
What is the rudest thing someone has said to you?!?!
ReadySteadyGo replied to auntlucy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was standing in line at a gas station after getting off a 12 hour shift standing the whole time. I have weird feet and I was in a lot of pain so I shifting my feet from side to side as I was in line FOREVER. The guy beside me asked why I was moving around. I told him my feet her I stood all day at work. "you stand all day, at work? It doesn't look that way, it looks like you sit all day" and then he laughed. I said "looks can be confusing. I thought you looked intelligent, well damn if I was waaaay off" -
for all of you who are thinking about getting this...

Turn off the tv babe, and go for a walk. It will make you feel so much better. -
Kjeter "I'm not in a race to finish this" That is my new favorite statement. Who cares how FAST it comes off, as long as it's coming off. Thanks.

Actually they are not friendly, there are maybe two ladies there that are super sweet and caring, but the rest kind of bother me. I'm not found of Merriman either, but I DO Think he is a talented, experienced surgeon, with a LOT of experience with the lapband. I have actually been trying to find a better, cheaper place for my fills.

I think that is a good idea. You look fantastic, healthy, and happy. I think 15 more lbs is more than enough. You are beautiful girl.

I've been hiding...now I'm back needing support
ReadySteadyGo replied to MamaJava's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I wanted to send you some encouragement and ask you to call your Dr. and tell him of the issues your having. Maybe see if he would suggest a nutrionalist. I wish you the best and hope you get your issues taking care of. Just keep swimming. -
Poll: The lapband
ReadySteadyGo replied to ReadySteadyGo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I know my lapband will work better if I work with it better...I have been doing some soul searching and I think that I have been self defeating. Maybe I'm scared of success because with success comes such a drastic change? I think that is why I started smoking again. I really can't work out when I'm smoking. I quit three days ago, again. I am going to walk today and going to the gym tomorrow. I'm determined to not sabotage myself anymore. -
Poll! Eating and drinking
ReadySteadyGo replied to ReadySteadyGo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I drink when I eat, but it's a habit I'm really working on breaking. The hour thing is even harder, but I am determined to do it. -

Those all sound yummy. I like to take the prepacked imitation crab meat and wrap a peice of low fat motzerella or gouda around it. I also like a plum Or an apple with a little Peanut Butter. -
Hi. How are you? Sorry it took so long to reply. I'm Tara.
