How is your weight loss going?

    Protein problems

It took me a couple weeks to get up to my Protein goals. Just keep trying. You'll get there. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. They tell us that we may notice some changes with our taste buds, so I'm curious what, if anything, changed for you? For me, I've always liked spicy food, but I could either take it or leave it. Now I want to swim in a giant bowl of Siracha. Maybe it's because of the minuscule amount of food that makes me want the maximum amount of flavor? A quarter cup of refried Beans covered in Siracha....yum! I need help... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    So disappointed :(

My husband has a KILLER fettuccine alfredo recipe. It's pure fat and oh so delicious. Let me know if you want it to help get you to that 40bmi! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Puree, blender and baby food

The only thing I use my blender for is my Protein shake. I take a Premier Protein, add a 1-2 inch piece of banana and a half cup or so of ice. Sticking a chicken breast in the blender just never appealed to me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Had a REALLY bad day yesterday

I'm so sorry. Don't beat yourself up. Easier said than done, I know. Get back on your bike and keep peddling. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Bananas

The good news is I was able to go to Walmart today and buy cheap bras today. They never had my size before (38GG ). Now I'm a 36D. I refuse to spend real money on bras until I know I'll be in that size for a good while. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How have your taste buds changed?

I was also a Diet Coke addict for decades. If I could have the stuff fed to me intravenously, I would have been in heaven. Now I'm not even remotely interested or tempted. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How have your taste buds changed?

My husband makes the most amazing homemade chicken Soup. He made some when I was in Clear liquids and it tasted so gross. It was like pure liquid chicken fat. He made it a few weeks later (at my request) and it still tasted awful. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I had my sleeve 2 days before you and I'm down 16 pounds (25 pounds if you include my preop diet pounds lost). I've lost count how many days it's been since I've lost a pound. I started at 220, 211 on surgery day, 195 today. I chalk it up to starting at a lower BMI and I tell myself the slower loss will be better in the long run for my extra skin. Hang in there. Alcohol after WLS

I'm gonna put this disclaimer up first: I'm almost 5 weeks out from surgery and am NOT thinking about drinking now or anytime in the near future. That being said... My NUT told me that after getting the sleeve, one's alcohol tolerance is really low. I don't drink very much...a drink at Christmas, a drink out at dinner with friends, etc. So, not drinking right now is no biggie at all. However, I'm curious, if and when I have a drink at some point down the road, how much of a lightweight will I be? Are we talking one sip of a Fuzzy Naval and I'm stripping my clothes off and licking the bar top? How bad is it? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    So disappointed :(

I vote for ankle weights, a heavy lunch right before your appointment and bend your knees ever so slightly to make yourself a bit shorter. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. Long charging cord, my own nightgown and robe. I was SO happy I brought my own. If I had oozed on them (I didn't), so what - it's just a nightgown lol. I was happy I was comfortable in my own nightgown and not one of those uncomfortable, scratchy hospital gowns. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Regretting Surgery!

I had my surgery on 8/23, one day after you. I'm easily getting in my 60-90 grams of Protein and eat around 800 calories a day. I've lost 16 pounds since my surgery. That's just over 3 pounds a week! I say your 18 pound loss since surgery is fantastic!! Congrats! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Sleep Apnea

I have BCBS too. Hopefully your process is as painless as mine. I'm only 5 weeks out from surgery. I'm losing slooooow, but I just tell myself my extra skin will have an easier time going back to normal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Sleep Apnea

My BMI was 37 when I had surgery and I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a year and a half ago. I've never been told by any doctor that my apnea mild, moderate or severe. It's just apnea and I use a cpap. My insurance looked at my BMI and that I was being treated for sleep apnea. Simple as that. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    BCBS requirements

I live in WA State and have BcBs of IL. My BMI was 37, but I have sleep apnea. My entire process from my first call to my surgeon's office inquiring about information to my discharge a day after being sleeved was less than 2 months. I had already met my deductible for the year, which is only $250, so my out of pocket expense was maybe $75 in various $15 copays for office visits. BCBSIL rocks. Alcohol after WLS

We're going to Kona over Thanksgiving this year. I don't know if I'll have a drink, since I'll only be 3 months post op and am very protective of the calories that go into me and will still be actively in the weight loss phase. If I do decide to try a drink, I'll certainly be a cheap drunk! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
