4 days post op and I'm worried

I'm 18 days post op and have been able to drink my shakes within 10 minutes since a week or so out. I'm glad in not struggling, but it makes me wonder... I totally get where you are coming from. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    PreOp eating everything in sight?

I had a lot of people advise me NOT to have any food funerals. I did have 3 or 4 of my favorite meals spaced out over a few weeks prior to my 10 day pre op diet. The one thing I didn't eat, which was on my funeral list was popcorn. My husband makes the BEST popcorn and I didn't have any. Damn...I miss popcorn. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hello Out There August 2016 Sleevers!

I was sleeved 8/23. I take Premier Protein chocolate shake, a 1 to 2 inch piece of banana and a handful of ice and run it through my Ninja blender. Makes the shake MUCH better. Another thing is a vanilla Protein Shake with an inch or two of banana, and a teaspoon or so of cinnamon with a small handful of ice. Run it through the blender and it tastes like liquid Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  8. I know the big rule about not drinking right before, during and after eating, but at what stage does this rule kick in? I'm 18 days post op and eating soft foods, like a poached egg, cottage cheese, hummus...but still mostly Protein shakes. My diet plan specifically talks about not drinking and eating once I hit the 4 week "real" food stage, but it's not clear about this stage. I was sitting at dinner last night having my 2 tablespoons of cottage cheese for dinner along with a glass of Crystal Light when I remembered the drinking rule. Oops! Does anyone have some advice on this? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Stalling already?

I've heard about the infamous 3rd week stall, but I've been stalled since Day 6! I'm 17 days post op. I dropped 9 pounds in the first 6 days and since then the scale hasn't budged. I'm meeting my Protein and liquid goals. Any suggestions on getting this going? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Pain!

That's awesome! Did you change or do anything differently? Sent from my SM-T377T using the BariatricPal App I haven't done anything different. I think it's just the further from the surgery the more things are healing. I'm finding every couple of days things have progressed/changed drastically from the days prior. Who did you tell?

I told my husband, my parents, my grown daughter and 1 friend who is considering the surgery. Nobody else knows and I like it that way. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Pain!

I'm 17 days post op and I posted a thread asking this very question. In just the past couple days it has gotten A LOT better. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How many calories do you get in a day?

I'm 17 days out and I'm getting 500-700 calories a day. 3 Protein shakes, a poached egg and a babybel cheese is my standard daily menu right now. Sometimes I go wild and throw in a spoonful of two of cottage cheese. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. I've been allowed bananas since day 14. I have a bag of bananas in the freezer. I grab a Protein shake, add in a 1-2 inch piece of banana and a tiny bit of ice and it through my Ninja blender. The banana helps bind the shake and ice. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I wore my own nightgown and had no issues. If they had needed to cut it off me...meh...its just a nightgown. I was much happier being in my own cottony, soft gown then the scratchy, awkward hospital gown. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. It was less than 6 weeks between my first consultation and my surgery date. I had zero out of pocket cost and did not have to do a supervised diet. I was gung-ho and wanted to get it done before the kids went back to school. I think my timeline is not the norm though. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Can I have bread and if not why?

With so little room in the tummy, I look at the space as valuable real estate. Why fill it with bread? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Body caught up

I haven't tried canned foods yet. I'm up to cottage cheese, poached eggs, refried Beans and babybel cheese. The poached egg was going well until Breakfast this morning. It's not going down as well. I think I ate it too fast. It's hard to SLOW down. It's a learning process I suppose. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I am so sorry about our son. I can't imagine the heartbreak. I wish you a smooth surgery and speedy recovery! I'm 17 days post op and the pain was mild to moderate. My main incision still is tender, but I went camping over Labor Day (only 10 days post op) and I did fine. Everyone handles pain differently, but I've had 3 c-sections and this surgery was a piece of cake compared to the sections. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I was only in the hospital overnight and I WAY overpacked. Lol. I slept so much and when I wasn't sleeping I was walking. I broke the record for consecutive laps around the nurses station. 124 laps! The only thing I used out of my bag was my iPad. I binged watched episodes of Frasier while drifting in and out of sleep. My advice...pack minimally. Oh, bring your own night gown. I did and I was so happy and comfortable. Good luck with your surgery! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. I will be 2 weeks post op tomorrow. When I eat soft food (refried Beans, cottage cheese) I have horrible pain when swallowing. It feels like it's when the food hits the top of my stomach. Once it passes that point, it's fine - no pain. I'm taking itty bitty tiny bites. Can anyone explain what this is? I'm assuming it's normal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Finally!

I was using Premium Protein up until my surgery (8 days ago) and really liked those. Now that I've had my surgery, I find I can't stand them. Pure Protein...I will have to try those! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
