    Stall.

I get the anxiety. I'm anxious about the dreaded 2 weeks stall post-op. It hasn't even happened yet. I highly suggest you stay off your scale. Only weigh once a week. You're probably losing inches. Take a deep breath and stay on plan. If you're on plan, 64oz fluid and 60 grams protien, getting some exercise. You're doing all you can do. There is nothing more you can do. Good luck you got this

    PLEASE HELP ME!!

You asked if anyone thinks your crazy? I do. I would never and I mean never check myself out of a hospital against doctors orders. To me that is crazy. Maybe I'm crazy. If you have doubts in treatment ask questions. If your not comfortable with one docs answers or treatment plan then ask for second opinion. Any surgery comes with risks. Surgeon's don't cut you open unless they have too. Very rarely do they have to cut you open to see what is happening. Sounds like docs and you know what is happening. You're backed up. This can turn into a life threatening situation. If I was you I'd immediately go back to hospital. Apologize for your behavior. Blame it on your pain or whatever and FOLLOW doctors orders. Good luck to you and I hope you feel better soon.
  5. Ask your surgeon. Your surgeon is the only person who can give you the correct answer for YOU.
  6. Yes it is normal to gain Fluid weight right after surgery. I'm allowed 2oz fluid at a time (sip). Wait 5 minutes repeat. What did your surgeon recommend?
  7. Just because you can does not mean you SHOULD. This is crazy. I'm with Kaiser and they teach you and give you a binder with instructions on what to eat and when to start introducing food into diet. You have stitches in your tummy. If food particulars get lodged in stitching you can have a serious infection. I had surgery on 2/9. The guy in next room to me, had originally had surgery in January. He was eating grilled hot dogs day after surgery. He was back in hospital because he had a serious infection in stitching. The docs had to go back in clean out infection and replace stitching. I heard him telling his wife that he was getting a big Mac as soon as he got out of hospital. I just wanted to ask him why the heck you get this surgery in first place!! I felt really sorry for the wife. She was begging him to do as docs wanted him to do. This surgery is not a walk in the park. Surgery does not solve our obesity problems. Surgery is a lifetime commitment. It's a tool that can be abused. You still have to WORK at eating properly and correct portion sizes. For newbies or for folks thinking about WLS educate yourself. Do some serious soul searching. Maybe try the post op diet for a couple of weeks to see if this is something you really want to do. Most importantly be committed to following your surgeons guide lines. They are there for a very important reason.
  8. Call your bariatric team. Only they can give you the correct answer for YOUR case. Please remember your tummy is still healing. I'm also in week 2. I have 3 more days left until I can start soft foods. My tummy has been doing great so far. No gas or nausea.
  9. I've only felt a restriction once. I can drink fluids ok. I take my medication all at once no problem. I'm going to stick with the food limits that is recommended by my surgeon during each food stage.

    Coffee

My surgeon said decaf was fine to start right away. Wants me to wait 3 months before I have any caffeine.

    Chewing gum

    Don't take the risk
  12. Sleeved 2/9. Down 11.7 pounds. My incision sites itch like crazy. Haven't had to deal with gas pains or nausea yet. I've been taking stool softners since the 10th and have had 3 bm. I'm only required to get a minimum of 30 grams of protein and 32 fluid Oz for first three weeks. Been reaching those goals. Have had some head hunger but I find chewing on some ice or sf popsicles helps with that. I can finally sleep on my side. Overall I think I'm doing great.
  13. Sleeved same day as you. Pintrest has lots of neat low carb pizza recipes. I just saved a recipe called "pizza in a bowl". Has everything but crust.
  14. Wow 2 cups of broth at one sitting. I was told no more than 2oz at one time. When I reach maintenance I'm not to exceed one cup per meal.

    Boneless ribs?

Should be fine. It's up to your new tummy though. Chew well and tiny bites
  16. Had surgery 2/9. Three days post op I put about 3 drops of Cholula hot sauce chili lime flavor in my cup of broth (took a week to sip it gone) I had no problems. I'd start out slow. See what the tummy says. My surgeon said absolutely no gum or hard candy with or without sugar. It causes you to salivate which fills your tiny new tummy. Plus you don't want to risk swallowing them. Suck on some ice chips or sugar free popsicles. Good luck
  17. I'm getting a full peacock wrapping around my calf in color. I'm going to start this summer. I'll be 5 months post-op.
  18. Had my surgery on 2/9. I totally understand how you are feeling. When you start to doubt yourself think of all the reasons why you are doing this.
  19. Start on stool softners. For me that is all I've needed so far. My surgeon said not to worry about not having a bm for a week unless I am uncomfortable. I am 9 days post-op and have had 2 bm.
  20. That should of said caffeine drinks. You need to get your brain on track with what is going to be your new, healthier and skinner you. Start it now cause post-op you're going to be dealing with enough changes. I can have caffiene drinks after 3 months. Caffeine messes with healing.
