    Breakfast ideas please

Honestly? Seriously? you can eat this stuff??? I'd be running to the bathroom and upchucking everything... English muffin??? I guess the secret to this is to chew, chew, chew a million times over...
  2. i was at a party last night. catered food. I had to carefully pick the food, veggies and I followed everyone's suggestion, chew, chew, chew, chew. I was offered chocolate cake- I declined- I've tried cake and it goes up pretty fast!!!
  3. Julie, what compression garment are you using??? does it help tremendously??? I posted a thread asking some people on tummy tuck and their compression garment... I only got one reply...
  4. Its so nice to hear about choices. Somehow, my tummy does not like chicken- it will take a few red meat and pork, however, chicken, goes up really fast!!! anyone have the same experience?
  5. whew... thats nice to hear from the two of you! When my son's eat pizza, I end up picking on the toppings and making sure i chew well. It really is a task eating out... any of you try eating sushi with nori??? (the seaweed?) very very hard to digest!!!

    Question for long-timers

I am near my goal, 6 pounds to go! My Doctor, who has become a good friend of mine, has told me that he wouldn't do any more fills for me because I might end up underweight. I honestly think like anything we get into, we have to be disciplined enough to watch what we are doing, I have to admit, I really am a FOOD ADDICT!!! I love the taste of food- Thank God for the band, my food intake is restricted and if I go overboard, I upchuck things... (my son calls me bullimic, which is not a good thing!!!) However I feel everyone's sentiment, what if you start packing in the pounds, and your 10cc band is almost full, then what do you do???

Just 30 minutes, it is all I got in me.

Where does everyone get their energy? I can only stay on the thread mill for 15 minutes and I am so tired... whats your secret???
  8. Lani here, would like to know from people who underwent breast lift with augmentation and tummy tuck what is the best compression garment. I googled it. I've been researching the net however I am not satisfied with what I saw. I saw those half suits without bras- so I guess they are not good for post breast lifts and augmentation. Another question, my size is 34-31-36 not proportion to the size charts of these compression garments, do I go for small, since there will be swelling after the surgery or do I go for xtra small so it tightens all the areas. Help, I need sound advice. Thank you.:blushing::scared2:
  9. Julie, will keep your Doctor in mind for my thigh lift when I go back to San Francisco! How much would a thigh lift cost? Keep your spirits up Julie, we are rooting for you... Wine and Tylenol with codeine? hmmm- the world will be spinning for you- woo hoo!!!

    Acid Reflux and couging

Hi Lisa, first of all, the Dr should have given you the swallow test. They usually have half of glass of Water available after a fill, if the water doesn't go straight, the doctor has to decompress or un-fill you. I am hoping that I shed some light on you. Did you say you got banded in 2006? Who is your Doctor? I got banded in 2007 and I've been going in for a fill every two months. I have reached my goal, am now bound for reconstructive surgery... tummy tuck and breast lift with augmentation. Lani from the Philippines

How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills

i agree. Usually with the first fill, 15 -20 pounds are to be lost. My doctor was very aggressive with fills, I would get my adjustments or fills once every two months. Just hang in there, make sure that you do some little exercise- walking is good enough, eat whats on the diet plan and you will lose the weight.

    Liposuction around port

hi Lani here. Talked to my lapband doctor who also happens to be a PS. Lucky me- (because I worked well and was a good outstanding patient, he is giving me a free tummy tuck- that is no Professional fees but I still have to pay the hospital) My doctor told me, if he would do a tummy tuck, he said that he would have to avoid the port area- because our port might get infectious bacteria that would make us very very sick. I hope this helps. Oh yes, about tummy tuck, yes would love to get it, its for free, but am so freaking scared of PAIN!!!!
  19. Lani from the philippines. Everytime I get a fill, acid reflux. Yes, I take Nexium... You want a quick fix? Maalox- suspension type, but don't take it more than two days, it gives you one heck of a big problem- CONSTIPATION!!!! Now, you don't want facial surgery after constipation now do you? LOL!!!!
  20. Julie, am so excited about your TT. I use to live in San Mateo, Ca. but I am now residing in the Philippines. Please please write about your experience and post your pictures. Am thinking about the surgery plus augmentation- from a 46 C I am now down to a 36 b but can fit into an A!!! yes, my twins are so slim and deflated! Good luck and will pray for your speedy recovery.

Lap Band Fills / Adjustment Info

falloutgal, what you are experiencing is really normal! In two weeks time, you will be back to your normal self. Just make sure that you are taking vitamins. That lump in your throat when drinking liquids, just shows you how tight your band is, it will loosen up in time, thats why when they do fills in the clinic, they make you drink water to see how tight the band is, according to my doctor, if it was too tight, water would've gone out of your nose right away. The lump on your throat is pretty normal. Smile and good luck to your weight loss journey...
  22. Can someone explain to me what a sweet spot is? Every time I get my fill whether its 1 cc or 3 cc I seem to have adverse reaction to it. The last fill, which was 3 days ago, didn't make me run to the bathroom and throw up. Did anyone experience vomiting in their sleep after a tight fill? I for a fact wake up from a deep sleep, cough violently, and I have to rush to the toilet to throw up. Is this normal? I am still on liquid and soft diet, fearing that I might regurgitate. I weighed 140 at the Doctor's office, my weighing scale says, after 3 days, I am registering 130! Well sometimes I think my Doctor's scale makes us heavy, my consistent gauge are the clothes that I wear. When they fit loosely, I know for a fact that I lost weight. Lastly, is anyone reacting to eating chicken? I seem to throw up after eating chicken, compared to beef, fish or pork. Can someone explain to me???:thumbup:

Lap Band Fills / Adjustment Info

My fills cost $75 a visit. No My insurance does not pay for it. I think I am up to par with the scheduling of my fills which is once every two months. I got banded last January 18,2007 and last December 2008, I had my picture taken with my Doctor for a national paper lap band release. They splashed my before and after pictures with my consent of course. So far a lot of people have called and asked about lap band.

Lap Band Fills / Adjustment Info

Hi Bjean! Thank you for your concern! I am getting adjusted tomorrow in manila. I have called my Doctor about the acid feeling or the burn, 3 days after the fill, its because I have a hard time making food stay put. So far, no band slippage and yes I am aware. But my Doctor always checks the placement of my band when we do the fills. I have not had any problems with hair fall. The only problem that I have is my saggy tummy which I am seriously thinking of tucking and my inner thighs! (gross!!!)

Lap Band Fills / Adjustment Info

Really its true. I live on the south side of the Philippines and I have to fly up to manila to get my fill. When I go back home, I usually end up staying in my room. Bed and toilet bowl are my best friends. Crushed ice with simple sugar sustains me at this moment because ensure(replacement meal) does not go down, I usually up chuck the whole thing. By the 3rd day, 15 lbs loss is obtained. I have called my Doctor several times and he asked me if I forced myself on a diet? How can I diet when I can't seem to put anything in??? A week after, I get to put in soups- (broth mostly! and I get to drink my watered down replacement meal) Regular constitution of the meal is 6 scoops per one cup of water. I end up with 2 or 3 scoops of the meal to a cup of water and not finishing the cup, fearing of regurgitating the meal.
