My surgery is scheduled for 11/28...can't wait. I am a big bundle of emotions. One minute I'm nervous, next I'm excited....then I'm scared. But I can't wait to be healthy!!!

I finally got my letter of support from my pcp(I had to jump thru hoops to get one). Well the insurance lady told me that the letter needed to state that I haven't smoked or drank alcohol within the last six months or something like that or the insurance will deny it. Of course My doctor didn't put it on there. It took me forever to get the letter and I don't want to delay them submitting my paperwork because I'm trying to hunt down my pcp. And I certainly don't want to get a denial because the statement isn't on there. My question is for anyone with BCBS federal, do you really have to have this statement on there? Was anybody denied because they didn't have it on there? Do you think I should have my pcp to add the statement? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I have BCBS federal and everything was submitted on 9/9, BCBS scanned my paperwork into their system on 9/13 and started reviewing on 9/14. I just found out today that it was approved yesterday 9/19. Hope this helps @danny77. Good Luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

FINALLY!!! I just got approved. I don't have a surgery date yet because the weight loss clinic hasn't received the letter from BCBS. I'm going to give them until Thursday and have the insurance to fax it to them if I haven't heard from Vanderbilt. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Well 8/26 was my last appointment and I was medically cleared on 8/30. My paperwork should be sent to my ins tomorrow and they told me I should hear something by next week, which feels like forever. I am praying that nothing goes wrong and its approved. I have been waiting on this for a long time. I will update yall when I find out.

@@Nana1222 I have bcbs fed basic, I had to wait 3 months with a nutritionist or pcp. I decided to go to a nutritionist.
