I have BCBS of Michigan as well. My BMI was 42 I think. The weight loss clinic that I went to closed but my PM doctor knee I went for over a year so she wrote me a letter. If you can get your regular doctor to write the letter, do that. Sent from my VS985 4G using the BariatricPal App

Why Pre Op Liquid Diet Variations?
lelewatson replied to bellalulu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awesome. And be glad that's all you have to do. One day is easy peasy. And do cut the portions in half because I did that and to some miraculous surprise when I went w my hubby to eat a normal meal. I couldn't and I still can't. And truly I was amazed. For one, even though I wasn't a big binge eater or an all day snacker, when I ate my main meal, I ate. So I know the size of my meals and how I get hungry and normally eat. To my surprise my stomach shrunk. I didn't lose anything because of my daily insulin shots but I saw the portions go way down and so did my jelly belly. Lol now it's back on full liquids and shakes, broth and yogurts. Good luck though. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Thanks. Sent from my VS985 4G using the BariatricPal App -

Why Pre Op Liquid Diet Variations?
lelewatson replied to bellalulu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a little confused about the pre op liquid diet as well. I went for my pre testing today. I was not put on a all liquid diet until the day before surgery and a laxative the night before as well. I was told to eat half of what I usually eat due to the fact that I need to shrink my liver. She was saying most people don't do good when you tell them they can't have something. Lol! So I guess I will eat light until the 20th. Sent from my VS985 4G using the BariatricPal App -

My insurance didn't take long at all either. I actually had went through a nutritionist before and my primary doctor just wrote a letter stating I have been, under care for 6 month or more and I think she said a year but I've been going to her for years to help me with my weight. I can take any diets pills thyroid issues so everything has to be natural. So the insurance company said I needed the letter from my doctor and a psychological test and that was it. They called me and told me when I could have my surgery and my pre test screening which is tomorrow. I have blue cross blue shield, I'm in Michigan. Enormous Weight Loss: Just the Tip of the Iceberg.

You are a beautiful person inside and out. Remember that for your self. I am famous for eraseing people comments I don't like on my Facebook post. That will give him an idea that was the wrong thing to say. Yes people look at our outer shell but what's important is the inner person and forget that guy. Hi krakow57, I am in the same boat and was wondering if my numbers would change. I haven't had my surgery yet, it on the 20th of September. I took radioactive iodine in 2006 and been on senthyroid 50mcg then after took a long time to even get on that. Every time I go back my readings are the same. Doctor finally told me he don't think my thyroid is dead just really low. I was wondering if losing weight would make me hyperthyroid again? Sent from my VS985 4G using the BariatricPal App
