Congrats you are looking great! I am just past my 3 month post-op & I have been mainly walking for exercise so far because I have a bad back. I can't do much as far as exercise but I am making progress also. I like seeing others pics of progress also. I just don't know how to put them together like u have. I started at 275, pre op 265, 3 month post op 230. Thank u for your post vikki19 you give me hope! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Not losing weight
Gmatiredofpain replied to Jenny9541's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jenny9541 I went for my 4wk follow up today, I was discouraged about not losing weight also. To start, I weighed 256lbs when I went in for surgery, I weighed 265 the day I went home. I weighed 254 at 2 wk check up. Today I weighed 250 at my 4 wk. doc & are thinking part of the problems stem from Water pills I was taking prior to surgery. I had not taken them since that time. I had swelling in my leg & the rest of my body, began again almost a week ago. I am back on the water pill as of today. I am thinking some of my problem related to the water/edema I have. It is not the only thing I am dealing with but explains a lot. I was also told I need to try increasing my exercise. I am limited in my ability to exercise by my back injury. So my plan is to try swimming. Anyway, I hope this helps, if nothing else you are not alone!! . Good luck to you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Katoya34, just a suggestion about the Protein. I have been drinking Protein shakes every day & have not had a problem with keeping the grams up. I have been using Six Star whey Protein mix, vanilla flavored. One scoop in some milk gives me 30 grams/ day. I am drinking 2 a day now. Just an idea, of coarse u should check with your nutritionist or doctor if it's not on your list. I buy mine at Walmart. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

It's my SURGIVERSARY! With photos

I had surgery in Oct 4th. I did a liquid diet for one week prior. I am finishing up my full liquid diet. At 2 wks. I can start 2 wks of puréed food. From everything I have seen we all have to slowly graduate to Whole Foods so we don't tear up our stomach & let it heal well. It's like everything else, we get what we put into it. I think the pain from over doing it will be a great motivator. Best of luck to all of you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So excited, got my surgery date Oct. 4th. I can not wait now but no doubt will be more anxious as it gets closer but right now I am floating on a cloud. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Did you ever have second thoughts?
Gmatiredofpain replied to ALittleMe0914's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had a few surgeries, most in regards to my back. I have had to have them to deal with pain. I think a part of me feels more anxious about this surgery because I can choose to not have it. I feel I have a choice about this but when I read other ppl's message on here, it reminds me that I have a choice of letting one of many problems I have due to being obese just continue to kill me slowly. I chose life through the sleeve surgery! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Concern about surgery
Gmatiredofpain replied to 4ukay1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ 4ukay- I too am working toward an Oct. surgery date. I hoped for Sept. But as long as it is soon & I am ok after. I am concerned about the pain after also. I have been out of work & disabled since 2012 & I am hoping to be in less pain with less weight. I have a pain pump that covers some of the back pain. I fear being in added pain from surgery & being blown off about it due to pain pump, which does nothing to help the rest of my pain. I do know laser surgery is much easier on pain afterwards. Hang in there to the Oct. surgery plans, we will be in good shape. Have faith, I do! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
