  1. Hi there. I’ve had a LBL and although I can’t say for sure, the lipo will likely not have much effect on the extra skin. It will only take the day under the skin. If you have skin hanging then that will need to come off. Best to have some consults. Good luck.
  2. Hi there, I had a lower body lift in August last year and although I am happy to not have the apron of skin anymore, the surgeon promised a much better job then performed. Anyone have experience dealing with either trying to get a revision or seeking legal advise, or even suing?? I have handfuls of skin left over and a deformed bum. I have went to other surgeons who all day I need a new TT or even a whole new LBL!! Surgeon Dr Kara, Whitby Ontario - do not go there!! - said he can redo the Fleur TT for another $6000!! I already paid him $17,500. I told them that is not acceptable and they will need to provide another option. They were going to get back to me today. I have a free consult with a personal injury lawyer on Thursday. Any tips or help in this area will be much appreciated.
  3. Thank you. I’m still getting no where with his office. They did send me my OR report which shows, from what I can see, they did not do any lipo on abdomen and flanks as was part of the procedure. They have yet to comment on that! Spoke with a couple law offices and all said it would be hard to fight. But one actually took some interest and asked to see photos. Spoke with them for 30 minutes on Thursday and they will be reviewing everything and getting back to me. Such a frustrating position to be in
  4. I was at my goal. And was told my a plastic surgeon not to lose any more weight or my skin issues would just get worse!

Help.... gaining weight!!!! What should I do?

I just started losing after a small gain from the holidays (10lbs, down 5 now). Back to basics. Cut out the treats, logging food again and a little more exercise (I don’t exercise very much). I’m 1.5 years out from RYN. Good luck.

    Panniculectomy?

Haha, ya that doesn’t make sense!! RYN Oct 2016 and LBL was aug 2017
  8. Hello, just turned 40 on the weekend and wanted to share some pics. Feeling great and within 5lbs from goal!! Never felt better and so happy to have been blessed with this RYN and the plastics that I’ve had done. I’m currently in the process of doing research for the second round of plastics!!

40 looks great on me! (Pics)

    Thank you everyone!
  10. Hello, I haven’t posted an update in awhile. I’m down 100lbs and have basically been able to maintain since my lower body lift in August! RYN - Oct 2016 - 292 LBL - Aug 2017 - 197 Today 191lbs Everything has come pretty easily to me and no complications! I don’t exercise very much, just keep busy with my son and try to walk on treadmill 1-2 times a week, some ab work and push-ups here and there. I want to maintain at 185, so I’m back to logging food and watching things a little closer. But can’t believe how far I’ve come. Planning another round of plastic surgery probably for April - revision to upper tummy with breast lift as well as a small arm and thigh lift. Would also like some fat transfer to butt! Have my consult in two weeks.

    Inches lost post body lift/tt?

I went down two pant sizes. They took off 15lbs of skin/tissue. But I’ve only ‘lost’ 5-10lbs on the scale. It was 10 but came up after Christmas. Everything fits the same still, but trying to get those 5 back off now. I was a 16-18 before surgery and now a 12-14.

    When did you consider plastics?

I considered it as soon as a reached my goal weight and knew that is where I wanted to be, just minus the skin. Some websites have pricing listed, but remember surgeons will give a better rate combining surgeries. Best way to know is to have a consult - but speaking from experience, having the consult makes you want to do it!

Update 16 months out, down 100lbs! (photos)

Ya, they say it can take up to a year!

Update 16 months out, down 100lbs! (photos)

It was hard! But totally worth it. I’m 6 months out from that and the incision on my butt/back is still numb and tingly and I think still a little swollen! I will need a revision for some additional skin left at the top of my stomach but otherwise....totally worth it!

Update 16 months out, down 100lbs! (photos)

I’ll be 40 in 12 days!! Thank you everyone!! Life is awesome! I feel better then I did in my 20’s! For me the key has been to be realistic about goals and honest about what is possible. For me, this is a place I can still enjoy/love food and love myself!! No struggle and no deprivation. The surgery has helped in so many ways!!! Before I would have to work my ASS off to lose weight and maintaining was a fairy tale. Not anymore!!

Anyone tried stomach taping or bandaging?

Could you maybe have the dress let out slightly to allow it to flow a little better over that area?
  18. You are young and so your skin elasticity should be good, but I would wait on the TT and boob work if you plan to breastfeed. Otherwiae the rest of the work would be fine. I had a lower body lift in August and can’t imagine possibly undoing the results and waisting money!! But also depends on personal opinion. If you don’t plan on having kids for 10 Years, then why not be happy with your results now! And for a long time. The TT can always be done again. Really is up to you.

How Do People Not Lose Once at Goal?

As you get smaller you need less calories, so that helps. But you might need to eat more calories.
  20. Just my experience, but I find things easier to maintain now with the surgery because my stomach is smaller and there is no way I ca eat the quantities of food I was before, the RYN causes leas calories to be absorbed!, and I can’t eat very many sweets without feeling nauseous thanks to dumping syndrome. I also find that after losing so much and having skin surgery the desire and willpower to maintain are awesome!!! I agree with previous posts though, you need to find a sustainable routine. I love to be active, but with a 3 year old, finding time in MY schedule is hard. So I knew I’d never be able to maintain going to the gym 4-5 days a week - that I would have to do this without burning a million calories the rest of my life. Besides the battle of the bulge is won in the kitchen, not the gym. For me, exercise is about my heart health and overall just feeling good - not losing weight. However, what works for one person might not work for someone else. It really is about finding out how your body works and what is best for you.
  21. I’ll chime in here. I had RYN Oct 2016 weighing 292. I had a lower body lift Aug 2017 at 197. The lowest I got to after my skin surgery was 184. I’m currently 190....down 5 from a very enjoyable Christmas! Back on track and feeling great. I never really exercised much just some treadmill walking and very active with my son. I think the key is moderation, but also not letting things get to far off track that it’s hard to pull them back. My goal weight is 185 and I complete feel like these 5lbs will be no problem. Just logging my food again and trying to limit treats. I’m a size L-XL/12-14 and love everything about life right now. Planning a second surgery to have a small revision to the upper tummy and a breast lift/augmentation (maybe arms and thighs too) in April :-) Hope that helps!

    Panniculectomy?

I had RYN October 2017 and a lower body lift at my goal weight August 2018!!
  23. Hello, I had a lower body lift with fleur de lis tummy tuck and lipo on August 15. They took off 15lbs of tissue. It's been up and down since. I had the staples removed yesterday and as of today I'm only taking Tylenol and Advil. My doctors office is sending me a third compression garment as the first one is so tight I'm in pretty much constant pain from it pressing on the swelling. And, although, second felt good, I guess didn't have enough compression. I cried this morning because I just didn't realize how long I'd feel like **** and having to be relying on other people. I have a 2.5 year old son and I just feel useless right now. Over the last 2-3 days I don't feel like anything has improved. The swelling is very painful. I did not have drains as they did some special quill stitch. Question: 1. How long till you started feeling better? 2. Did you have trouble getting the compression garments just right? 3. How did you tackle the swelling? They told me I can take Advil now, but with RYN I didn't think we could. Please help with any words of wisdom! Thanks, Erinn
  24. I’d say you look great. Curvy and natural. ‘Average’ size wise. Have you tried letting ppl set you up for a blind date?? Or joining a book club? Or something else you might not normally do or go to places you might not normally go? Good luck!
  25. Great advice all around!! Confidence is so important. Save the talk about other guys/dates for girlfriends. And online dating is hard. Although can happen. Married 4 year this January here. However I went out of my comfort zone and went on a date with a guy I wasn’t necessarily attracted too from his pictures and he was my prefect match! So glad I opened my ‘parameters’.
