SAIL INTO SUMMER CHALLENGE
thisisthenewme replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
197! :-) Slow and steady is fine by me. Went to a family reunion yesterday and every single person complemented me on how awesome I looked!! And it got cold out and I fit into my hubby's size L pullover sweater. Sometimes my head still doesn't see the weight loss. 95lbs and counting. -
What is everyone taking to stay regular?
thisisthenewme replied to onmyway11's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Sorry I don't take anything. Food seems to do the trick. But I'm also gluten and dairy intolerant so maybe that helps. -
I had Lap-band to RYN surgery on October 4, 2016 at 292lbs. This week I weighed in at 200lbs. Down 92lbs! [emoji2][emoji2][emoji2][emoji2][emoji2][emoji2][emoji2]

Severe hip pain one year after surgery
thisisthenewme replied to pccooper's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hey! I'm 9 months out and have lost 94lbs. I've had really bad hip pain for about 3-4 months. Massage therapist said to get more active. I'm trying! Something about my bursa being inflamed and weak muscles. Hoping exercise will help. It hurts when I put my foot on top of the opposite knee and push down on bent knee, if that makes sense. -

NEW to site...going through motions but not sure if I'll have the surgery!
thisisthenewme replied to Bobbieann's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can understand your comments in your original post about, if you can't eat right and exercise now what will be the difference. And I can see here in this post that you have lost weight in the past. What that tells me is that you will be successful with weight loss surgery. I was similar to you, I had lost weight in the past successully by myself but never keep it off. The hunger always came back. This time around, I had gastric bypass in October 2016 and I'm down 93 pounds. I'm currently 200 pounds, i've never been this close to onderland before without having to struggle and struggle and struggle and struggle just to maintain where I was. The surgery allows me to eat a small portion, be satisfied and carry-on with the rest of the day. I hardly ever exercise except just staying active with my son. Which is something that I love to be able to do now that I've lost weight. From this point on if I lose anymore weight it will all just be gravy. Because I'm so happy with life right now, more like ecstatic, that I will never go back. Good luck to you and your journey. If you find a good surgeon with a good support team you will get there. -

Thanks! -
So I've had many non surgery victories along the way but had to share this one... Forgot my bathing suit while meeting my hubby over at my parents house for a hot tub (they were out of town) and stopped in at Giant Tiger at 7:55 when they closed at 8. They had bathing suit tops and bottoms on sale for $7 each. Grabbed an XL bottom and a size 14/D top and got out of there before they closed. Here is comes....they fit perfectly! Never in my life have I bought a bathing suit in the regular sizes with out trying it on and it fits!! Loving life [emoji178][emoji178] I've lost 92lbs and I'm 1 pound away from onederland [emoji2][emoji2][emoji2][emoji322][emoji322][emoji322]

Another post about stalls!!
thisisthenewme replied to Kearner's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Honestly I thought this was going to be a crack against all the posts about stalls. Seriously ppl. Stalls happen. It's part of any type of weight lose. [emoji35] Sorry to hack your thread, just kinda sick of reading these. Vent over -
slow weight loss
thisisthenewme replied to Emailkariann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seriously! What did they mean by working out. When I had my 3 month checkin they told me a couple times a week max! Guess every doctor is different. Also, I agree with previous post..16lbs in a month is awesome. Besides, you really don't want it coming off too quickly. Your body needs time to adjust and so does your skin. -
slow weight loss

My only thought is that you are pushing your body to far. I wasn't cleared for working out more than going for a walk until 4-6 weeks after surgery. -

Has anyone had lap band and converted to sleeve?
thisisthenewme replied to alrad0104's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had lab band is 2012 and just converted to by pass this past oct. Best thing I ever did!!!!!!! I was 200lbs this morning down from 292 on surgery day. Which officially pasts my lowest of 203 with the band and I struggled just to get there. This time around it's so much easier!! Good for you for reaching out and making changes to you life. You don't have to stay chained to the band! Get it out if it's not working for you!! -
I want/need the following: 1. Lower body lift with lipo. I need help all the way around. I'm currently getting an appointment to see about having insurance pay for the panni and I'll pay the rest. 2. Things. But if they do a fabulous job on the LBL then maybe they will be happy with them. 3. Arms and Boobs. But this would just be a nice to do. I did recently have a consult that would cover 1 and 3 for $25,000. The LBL is $17,500 so I though might might as well do the arms and boobs too for that deal! But at this point it's all still a dream.
