Tummy tuck quote
thisisthenewme replied to Ineedhelp2014's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I’m in Canada but will chime in. I paid $17,500 in August for lower body lift (360 degree circumferential lift) with mons lift, fleur de lis tummy tuck and lipo. One night in hospital and scar treatments. Totally worth every penny! And I’ll still need a revision to get the rest of the skin under my boobs. Surgeon can do a reverse tummy tuck to get it and likely I’ll have a boob lift at the same time. Would love to have a small thigh and arm lift. But might just have to live with those. -
Plastics today!!

Hi there, I’ve been waiting to do my update till the clinic fixes their app software and I have access to my last set of pics, but it’s looking like that could take awhile. So, here goes... Things have been great! I’ve been maintaining around 187-189, looking to get some exercise going to get 3-5lbs off. Would prefer to maintain around 184-186. But really not sure if there’s a difference. I just don’t want to get in the 190’s. Incisions have healed nicely. Had one little hole in the incision where it meet at my butt. But it closed on its own. I had about one week of intense sharp pains at night that I think were related to nerve healing. They seem to be gone, but were intense!! My sex life is starting to come alive which is a side affect I was looking forward too. I was very self conscious about my hanging skin when having sex with my husband. Now not an issue and sex is awesome again!! I love shopping, but have no money!! Clothes fit so good now and I have so many more options. Unfortunately I will need a revision as the doctor did not take as much skin as there was available on the top portion of my stomach. Standing I can still grab a large amount of skin between boobs and belly button. Doctor says he will do revision after the 9-12 month healing waiting period. Depending on the work being done I may or may not have to pay for surgical fees, but would not have to pay for doctor fees. For now I will enjoy the results and hope for the best during recovery. I’m still under 3 months and have swelling in my lower belly portion. Before RYN and plastics. Likely a bridal size 28 and down to a 16.... -
My plastic surgery was today! I had it done by Dr. Kara in Scarborough, Ontario. He did a lower body lift with fleur de lis tummy tuck, muscle repair and lipo!! He is absolutely wonderful. So caring and was literally excited to transform me!! Surgery lasted 7 hours and he removed 10lbs of skin and fat!!! I'm doing well, haven't moved yet, so we'll see how that goes in an hour or two. Otherwise pain is good. I actually feel better then after my RNY! Anxious to get to see something, but certainly not in a rush. Very sleepy, I'll update more later

October 2016-Surgery Date. Where are you now?

Hi everyone! Seems like we’re all doing good [emoji2] I hit my goal and I’m trying to maintain now. So far, so good. Starting and surgery weight: 292 Goal weight: 185 Today: 187 I had skin removal surgery and they took off the last 15lbs and got me to my goal in August. I eat 5-6 times a day. 3 meals and 3 snacks. I don’t stress about food and eat in moderation. Including sweets and carbs! I do limit gluten and dairy as much as possible as I have sensitivities to them (pre surgery condition). I currently don’t exercise very much as I’m a full time university student, and work 20 hours a week running a psychiatry clinic, plus I run after my 2.5 year old and husband. Planning to step it up in January when I’m done school. -

Sorry I missed a couple weeks. Last week was 189 and this week 188. I seem to maintain around 187-189. Would prefer to maintain around 183-185. Guess I’ll have to get back into losing mode and try to take 5 off!! -

187.5 So up 3 pounds since trying to maintain. I'm getting my period so hopefully it's just water retention. I don't feel like I eat that much this week to gain 2lbs. But I have to track better!! -

185.5 Up one from last week. I know when you're maintaining weight will fluctuate, but whenever I see the scale go up I worry a little. Maintainers: do you still track your calories? I was very diligent while losing to track and ever since I went into maintenance mode I've almost stopped. -

Plastics today!!
thisisthenewme replied to thisisthenewme's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hello! So 4 weeks today and got my pics uploaded from my last appointment. Here are some pictures... 1 week out compared to 3 weeks out Day of surgery to 3 weeks out Shopping today :-) -
So I confirmed yesterday that I'm having a lower body lift with fleur de lis tummy tuck and lipo on Tuesday. I'm freakin out! I meet with a couple of plastic surgeons and have been doing my research. I went back to one for more information and they had a cancellation for Tuesday. At first I was like no way, Tuesday and then I thought man this might actually work better for me. I'll be full time at school this fall and would otherwise have to wait till January. Plus my husbands schedule is more flexible right now. I can't believe this is really happening! I have to get the following: - depends to help with leakage from stitches and those pad things to put on my lazy boy for protection - land yards to hold drains - rent a walker and shower chair - compression socks (they provide compression garments) - groceries so we have food over the next week Any other suggestions?? I'll be one night at hospital.

Congrats girl! It's an amazing feeling to have all that skin taken away and to free your body from it!! So happy for you :-) Can I ask, cause I'm still struggling in my new body after plastics? How long did your swelling last? Now that the stomach skin is gone does it just leave you disliking other areas more? I'm 3 weeks out and basically look 6 months pregnant from swelling and although I'm so happy and basically a new person, I'm stressing about the top part of my belly where it seems like too much skin was left. Plastics is definitely a different kind of mind game. -
Oh and I should say, I've had zero complications with my RYN! It's way better than the band ever was. It has a more natural 'full' feeling. It's literally the best thing I did for myself!! Ask me anything, I'm an open book Erinn [emoji2] P.s. Great name BTW!
-
Hi Erin! I had a lap band in 2011, lost 70ish pound, clinic went bankrupt in 2013, got pregnant 2014, then came the complications!! Constant vomiting and discomfort, gained all the weight back as could only eat sliders, and no clinic to turn too [emoji30] Had baby Dec 2014, in june 2015 found out band slipped up esophagus. Referral to provincial Bariatric services Dec 2015. Gained another 20. Had to go through months of waiting to have OHIP (I'm in Ontario) convert lap band to RYN - surgery was Oct 2016 I was 292. With lap band I got to about 204 and it was a struggle even with daily exercise. Today I was 186 [emoji2] My goal weight is 180-185, so basically there and so comfortable and easy to maintain and lose. 3 weeks ago I had plastics and I'm still in shock at the changes. They took off 15lbs! Day of surgery I was 197. Here are some pictures: Aug 2015 July 2017 Before and after plastics - Aug 2017 Sept 2016/now Now Good luck on your journey!

Wow!! What a difference!

Should I be concerned? Incisions...
thisisthenewme replied to SIPS in Seattle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
When they are sealed up why don't you put some medical tape on them to keep them sealed?? -
I eat peanut butter all the time!! No issues and never effected weight loss. Surgery was oct 2016, down 105ish pounds :-)
-
Hi there, sorry to hear you have been struggling. This process is hard and does help with your weight loss, but you still have to work it hard! If you paid for your surgery that I'd hope it come with some sort of follow up and support. You should take full advantage of that and utilize them as much as possible. You need to let them know your not meeting your goals and have them help you with your meals and daily food/drink intake. Do you track your calories and activity? Good luck!
-
Wow, why can't some ppl just offer some advice and not also be annoying! 1200 calories sounds about right to me, depending on how much you weigh now and how fast you want to lose. 800, in my opinion, would be too low, you don't want to mess with you metabolism. Also, if your a year out, the weight loss will slow but keep doing what your doing!!
