    Feeling kind of betrayed

I'd either give them away or just put them in a drawer somewhere and forget about them. And, more importantly, I would have a serious conversation with your boyfriend about your surgery, how you eat, and all of the assorted extraneous details. If he is a serious part of your life, he should know everything about your journey; otherwise, it isn't completely fair to hold him accountable for being sensitive and informed. (That being said, he should have known better in this case...) Good luck!
  2. I am just the opposite. I have a work function in Florida this coming week, and I am really looking forward to all of the "oohing and ahhing" from colleagues who haven't seen me since before I started this journey last March. I mean, I've lost almost 175 pounds, so it will be a topic of conversation. And I will acknowledge the surgery (after I acknowledge the 100 pounds I lost during my pre-op diet program) as a tool that has helped me to be successful. That way we Celebrate my success and educate about WLS all at the same time.
  3. This is a really dangerous thing to do. On top of the fact that you aren't working on re-establishing your relationship with food when you do this. I'd recommend that you stop doing this, but at the very least, please talk to your surgeon and/or your nutritionist about it. Good luck! This journey is very difficult, but so worth it if you put in the time, work, and effort.

    2 days post off

Days 1 and 2 post-op were horrible for me. But, by Day 3, I started to rebound. Part of that was getting back into the world and walking outside rather than up and down the halls of my building. By my one-week post-op appointment with the surgeon's team, I was in pretty decent shape. Fatigue was an issue for 2 months, though. The bottom line is that it will get better. Hang in there!
  5. Search "three week stall." It happens to everyone. Just stick with your plan and the weight will come off in its own time. This journey is a marathon, not a sprint!
  6. I'm the same way, and I agree with you 100%. I know others on here have the opposite opinion, and are quite passionate about their viewpoint. I've been wanting to pose this question on here for a while now, so I am looking forward to the various perspectives.

    Abbreviations

I hate the word "Onderland." Don't get me wrong, when I get below 200 pounds, I will be thrilled beyond belief, but I won't use that word to categorize or announce it. I don't know why it annoys me so much, but it does.

    Day 00001 Post-Op!

Welcome to the other side. The first few days will suck, but you should rebound quickly. By Day 3, I got up and out of the house to watch the Saints game, and that made me feel so much better. As the days and weeks went on, it got easier and easier. Hang in there with the food stages. They suck, too, but they are so important while you are healing. Before you know it, that will be behind you as well. Take care and good luck as you continue your journey!!

    Advice please

How much daily Fluid does your plan require at 2 weeks? On mine, they definitely wanted you at 64 oz at that point, so upping your Water intake might help some. I can tell you that I fought serious fatigue for a good 2 months post-op. I took off work for 6 weeks, and I still struggled in the afternoons for the first two weeks when I went back. Just to be on the safe side, I'd call and check-in with your team. They will know how to best advise you. Good luck!

    A Question Regarding Thirst

I drank a lot of Fluid (mostly diet coke) pre-op, and it wasn't that bad of a transition post-op, for me. Also, the sipping phase for me was short-lived. I was able to drink semi-normally within the first 2 weeks. Good luck! Cool screen name by the way...
  11. That I should have done it years ago instead of letting things get so out of control with my weight! :-) And that the surgery part of the experience was no where near as traumatic as I built it up to be. Good luck!

    Weekly weight loss

My pre-op weight loss was very linear. I lost 3 pounds a week like clockwork for the entire 6 month pre-op diet program. Since the surgery in September, though, the loss is more of a step function. I lose 8-10 pounds in a 1-1.5 weeks and then I stall for 1-1.5 weeks. Then the process repeats. I wouldn't aim for any particular amount per week, and just focus on following your plan and looking for a downward trend. Otherwise, you will drive yourself crazy! Good luck!
  13. Stalls are an all-too-frequent part of this process. If you follow your plan, the weight will come off.

    I just broke down...

Like others said, what is done is done, so there isn't much you can do about it now. But, I would encourage to think about why this happened, and what you can do to keep these kind of things from happening in the future. Establishing a healthy relationship with food and changing habits is essential to success in this journey. There are a great many people out there who lost weight during the honeymoon period and gained every bit of it back (and more in some cases) because they never changed their relationship with food. Good luck.

    Djmohr

She made a status post saying that she was leaving the site. That status was deleted shortly after, so if you didn't see it right after she posted it, you probably missed it.

    Pasta

I accepted a long time ago that Pasta, rice, and bread were off the table for me permanently. They are to me like booze is to an alcoholic. I just can't have them.
  17. We are back from a week in London and Paris.  I am now engaged to my long-time partner, which is super exciting.  And, to boot, I lost 4 pounds on the trip, even though I had more wine than I probably should have had.  (Nothing food off plan though!)  This journey is so intriguing!

The super krewes are the big ones (Endymion, Zulu, Rex), but some of my favorites are the smaller ones like Chewbacchus, Druids, Nyx, Muses, etc.  And I only mean small in relative terms; they are quite the production!

    Tanning post op

I was given clearance to begin tanning immediately after my one week post-op appointment.
  19. The people that are "drinking beer and eating whatever" won't be losing weight forever. Changing your relationship with food is what makes for success long term. If these folks are truly doing what you are saying, let's see where they are in a couple of years. I am militant about everything that goes into my body. I have to be that way to be successful. Keep doing what you are doing. You will be better off in the long run.

    Work

How did this thread get so off topic? Wow.

    Work

I took off six weeks. I was physically better after 4 weeks, but the fatigue remained an issue even for my first couple of weeks back to work.

    Just here to complain

Great post! I, too, work in corporate America, and understand the whole top-down SVP thing. I'm a Director, but mine drives me crazy often (even though I love her). Hang in there. This, too shall pass!
  25. Isn't this journey amazing?? Congratulations. I know how hard the work is, and you should be very proud. Keep it up!
