Well I keep telling myself I can do this, I can do this, Its only temporary, and I will have more choices. Hi all got my date for surgery Aug 22, Im getting so excited. Hi Chick hope your surgery went well yesterday. Let us know how your doing. I start my pre-op diet Aug 8 for 2 weeks, slimfast shakes for 3 days and add a small salad with fat free dressing for 10 days. Keep telling myself I can do this I can do this, but never liked the taste of slim fast. I will grin and bear it though. Im telling myself this is temporary and I will have more choices later on. Hi Bruce Im new to this too havent been banded yet but have my first appt scheduled. Im no expert, but from what I understand, liquids go through the pouch fine, its the food that stays in the pouch longer periods of time. Thats why they say not to drink 30 mins before and and hour after eating. It will wash the food through too fast. Think of it as an hour glass. Sand goes through slowly, but if you put water in it, it will go through fast. Hope this helps....You just have to keep drinking often and stay hydrated.

Hi Hippmom Im new to this, I have my first appt set for 7/28/08. I think by what im reading that you were self pay? I will be too, what all was required before you could have your surgery. Im having it at the Surgery Center. Thank you, Im a little nervous and excited at the same time.
