I don't think I'm doing this right
CherCare replied to julie74601's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You might try Oikos Triple Zero yogurt. 15 grams of Protein, 120 cals, no added fat or extra sugars other than those naturally occurring. Even has 9 grams of Fiber. I've only been able to find 2 flavors, but some of the other flavors sound delish Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Two weeks post op...how much water weight is there?
CherCare replied to orangesali's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pam924. How do you set up my fitness pal taking the sleeve into account. What do you put for desired weekly weight loss? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
This is Day 6 and I have gained 15 pounds. My blood pressure went dangerously low. They helped combat that with extra fluids. I know in my mind this will change, but it's frustrating. Hoping it goes down some by the time I see my surgeon in 18 days. Your progress is wonderful. Just stick with your plan, and be proud of any loss you have. You're doing gread! Today was my surgery!
CherCare replied to sleeved.tekee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my worst gas pains today, 6 days out. My sister had prepared me saying to lift my feet above my head. You can arrange the hospital bed that way. It also helps to lay on your left side. I have to say, lifting my legs up high today really helped ease that brutal pain. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

6 days post op and the gad pains have hit.
CherCare replied to CherCare's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sorry. Had to block my incoming dog! Anyway. I only had small burps up to now. Today the pain is brutal and every step I take releases gas. I'm thinking this is typical, but my sister wanted me to check. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

My surgery was last Wednesday, Dec. 14th. I had a situation with low blood pressure requiring the nurses to push extra IV's the entire time. I knew I would gain some weight, but wasn't prepared to gain 15 lbs. Is this number reasonable? How fast can I lose the weight? I'm getting all my Water in. I'm a teacher. My surgery is scheduled for Dec 14, and then I get to be off until January 3rd. I know it varies for everyone, but under best case scenario, what kind of minimum restrictions should I expect? My students have autism. They are awesome, but some can have difficult behaviors. They pull forcefully on me and sometimes drop to the floorbwhile I have their hand. One might drop his legs in my lap if we're sitting together, or kick his leg up to my abdomina if he's dropped to the flioor. I might have.to pull a table or chairs our of the way, and there's a little gurl I lift in and outbof a wheelchair. (I know that will be off limits for a while!) The more I think about it, my job is pretty demanding physically. I'm not sure i'll be healed enough to go back in 3 weeks. I was on workman's comp last year and my principal wouldn't let me come back, even when my only restriction was not lifting over 40 lbs. I finally told the doctor not to put any down. Where were you guys at 3 weeks out? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Surgery in less than 2 hours. I feel calm and like I'm bathed in prayer. So grateful for all the people in my life who support this decision. Also, I feel thirsty. Very very thirsty! I've usually had 40 or more oz of Water by now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

OUUUCH. 3 DAYS OUT & OUT OF PAIN MEDS
CherCare replied to sweetchef76's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try Arthritis Strength acetaminophen. It's twice the strength of extra strength, and made a big difference in controlling my arthritis pain. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
mommyjess, that is a demanding job. You be sure to listen to your body, no matter what the doctor says you SHOULD be able to do. Take care of yourself. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Are you seeing a psychologist or attending a support group? Face to face, not just online. My surgery isn't until Wednesday, but I will be using both of those to help me transition to a healthier attitude about food. Identify healthy choices and have nothing else around. Find some behaviour to do when the urges come to redirect you. You can't extinguish a behavior without replacing it with another. I'm going to try some deep breathing, stretching and/or Bible verse affirmations when the time comes. You are sabotaging yourself. Deep down could you view yourself as unworthy of being happy and healthy? That's a lie. You are a beautiful creation, fearfully and wonderfully made. God desires good things and joy in your life. Let a psychologist help you with these feelings. Are you having a hard time letting go of what you feel has been your best friend? That is another lie. Food is not a friend. It is fuel to help your body stay and get healthy. The sleeve is going to help you regain control over food and no longer be enslaved. You have to be willing to feel the emotions you've been trying to hide from. I sound so strong on these points because I've been saying them to myself for weeks. I know I am a candidate to be right where you are. I'm writing down all the great things I'll be able to do once I get healthy. I'll have it ready to read when those challenges come. Neither you nor I want to find ourselves in a position of... not just regaining weight, but having to deal with the regret, self loathing, and hopelessness that would bring. We can do this! I'll be praying for you. Once again, sorry for the rant. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
