I have bcbs of Illinois also. I called them to verify they received everything. I then called a week later to see if they approved. I was told that it might take a few days after approval for my doctor to be notified. It was better for me to contact the insurance. Good luck. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Sorry I'm only a month out but if it continues I'd call the surgeon. I ended up having emergency surgery a week after my sleeve after having a pain for a few days so I'm of the mind set if there's pain and continues better safe than sorry. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I was admitted to the hospital a week after surgery and they pumped me so much of fluids I had an extra 8 liters of Fluid. It took about a week to get rid of it. Just keep walking to get the fluid moving. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

I posted about having side pain. Finally Friday I went to the er. Turns out I was septic. When my doctor used the robotic arms he glued it back since it was so small. Well it was small enough for my small intestines to find a piece and strangle itself. I ended up having surgery. Saturday where they cut six inches of my intestine and I'm back in the hospital. Doing ok but glad I pushed Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Pain in left side to back

It's only the first week so I'm only up to 48 oz of Water and one bottle of premier Protein. I'm slowly increasing. I'll try the heating pad. The rest of my stomach feels fine just that one spot. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
Hi everyone. I am a lapband to sleeve converter. I had the procedure last Friday and also had hernia repair. I ended up staying longer due to breathing and heart issues. I am now back and slowly recovering. My biggest issue is I have a sharp pain on lower left side near ribs that goes to my back. If I take a little bit of narcotic meds it helps but then comes back. I talked to my surgeon and he said the robotic arms could have done more pulling or tugging there. I was hoping to go back to work next week since I'm a teacher and it's the first week. However with the pain I don't think it's possible. Just wondering if anyone had similar pain that starts on side and goes to the back. Thanks. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
