  1. I was originally sleeved 9/2010 and lost 105. The past 2 years I regained about 40 of those pounds and was just not okay with it. On 8/11/2016 I had the intestinal portion of the SADI-S completed- my sleeve was still in good shape and needed no revision. I'm now 8 days post-op from my SADI-S Revision and down 12 pounds (I know, holy crap). Because previously I had the sleeve, that is the only reference I have to go on in terms of what to expect post-op. However, it's become clear to me that this "intestinal" revision is NOTHING like getting sleeved. I have NO issues with drinking, swallowing, topping off, or stomach restriction associated pains. I do seem sensitive to some things, like drinks or food that have sugar added, but it's still too early for me to know all the likely sensitivities. Also I've only had 2 pooty bouts, and yes, quite a bit of flatulence. And this is part of that unknown for me. What gives u gas? How many calories should I be consuming? What's gonna make me pooty, or throw up, or have horrible diarrhea? Does the gas/pooty/diarrhea happen right after I eat something or does it take a few hours, a day? Should I be focusing on fats as well as Proteins? Someone I follow on YT said they eat an avg of 3000 cals a day? Is that just for DS, that's what she had, is that for all DS? What foods should I avoid like the plague? Anyone else have the revision done with no change to their sleeve? How did u deal with that mentally, that everything is pretty much the same as before u went into surgery? How much should I be eating? Any daily caloric goal I should be reaching for? What happens when I do transgress and eat a sandwich with the bread, or 4 fries outta my daughters Wendy's bag? How's my body gonna react? Sorry y'all, I know I really went on, but this is soooo not like my VSG that it's just left me at a loss. I don't know what to expect or anticipate anymore. Thanks ahead for any advice u share. 2. I'm feeling I on all the stuff u notes girl. I've been pretty lucky so far with the weight loss, but last time my body also responded really well to the surgery. It's of course coming off slower than last time, but a million times faster than when I kept trying and failing over and over again to lose the damn regain on my own. I'll be 1 month out in 3 days and I've dropped 17 pounds....very happy with that. A contributing factor might have been that I was back on soft solids after 1 week, not my doctors advice, but I knew my tummy hadn't changed, I just needed to be careful with my intestines. I can't begin to express again how much ur feedback and experiences are appreciated. I've had literally no one to talk to who had this revision with no change to their tummy so I've had to make everything up as I've gone along. So u taking the time to share ur experience with me is literally invaluable. Oh, I've been vlogg in my entire journey since 2010 on YouTube (cecelialane) ...check it out so we can "meet" and email me anytime at cecelia@wlssuccesswithcecelialane.com. I'm also on IG, ooVoo, Facebook (Cecelia Brown Lane) and Messenger So happy things are improving for u too. Now I'm pootying primarily just in the mornings, albeit about 6 times. Buta till, it's a relief. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Where do I begin? Very DEPRESSED

I went through the same thing 6 years out from my sleeve. I am a good addict - I use food to Celebrate, to punish, as a salve....and after the death of my amazing mommy in 2014 who I took care of while dying, I backslid with a vengeance and all my old habits came back along with 50lbs I just could not seem to shake. Because going back to basics unfortunately did not work for me - between needing the additional surgical tools to help manage my eating/consumption and my even slower metabolism that was so desperate to get back to my "heavy weight" - scientific fact after extreme weight loss - I finally said to myself I am weak and I am strong. For the areas I am weak, I need help so that I Amy contour to succeed. So after many attempts to fix things myself I had a revision and am finally back on track with my Weightloss AND more importantly my healthy eating. I am not advocating the revision, I just wanted to share my story with u and remind u that u are beautifully imperfect, we all are. So cut urself a break in the self-recriminations. U will find ur answer and overcome. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    DS log book

So glad to hear ur healing well. My fist week or so was kinda rough, and I only had the intestinal portion done. I element now though that the body does adapt to all the changes over time, so things do seem to kinda magically get better. Keep up the good work! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Thanks so much for ur reply!!! I am doing much better now, thankfully. I'm now nearly 3 weeks out and my body is adapting (I forgot about that), and getting into a pooty-rhythm, if that is a thing. I now pooty about 3 times a day - morning, afternoon, and night. The gas has decreased dramatically and I'm getting a good sense for what I should and should not be eating and how much of some of the should nots I can get away with . Please update me on how u are now doing! I'd luv to hear if ur body too is now "settling in". And thanks for ur support, it really made me feel better. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm now 9 days post-op and also would love to hear others experience. FYI Vombatidae, Pinkfishlilly on YouTube had a revision to the DS about 3/4 years ago and dos a monthly vlog of her journey. I found it to be helpful, but I still have a lot of unanswered questions. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Post op regrets topics - not popular

I don't have any sympathy for you. For a person who prides herself on being intelligent and factual, you have to be the most ignorant pre-op patient I've ever run into. If 4 years of intensive research did not uncover the issues u listed as "intolerable", it's no wonder u make emotional and illogical statements like "I will feel this way forever!" You don't have to know what to look for, or as u put it "know what u don't know", because it's all laid out for u by everyone who's come before u! 8 hours on YouTube and WLS forums easily answers any question u could know to ask as well as a million others u would never think of to ask. Newbies get yelled at daily by veterans for eating steak and burgers too soon, complaining about how the steak got stuck in their chest and hurt like hell for hours. I don't know what rock u were doing ur research from under, but it was not of this world. If u told me u hadn't done any research, then I would have believed u, because ur ignorance is way too extensive for u to have actually done any real research....either that or ur the worst researcher ever. I also can't fathom what idiot approved u for the surgery: no long-term history of obesity, no record of multiple attempts to lose the weight on ur own, a pre-existing issue of IBS even if currently controlled, and someone who clearly has a very negative outlook on things and is therefore mentally unfit to adapt to such a dramatic change. Lastly, ur statement about hating this forever is ridiculous and clearly emotionally driven because at 6 years out, ALL, as in EVERY SINGLE ONE of the issues u are complaining about will have gone away (yes, I'm 6 years out). But of course only someone ignorant to that fact would not know that, and only someone stupid would refuse the truth of it when told by those who do know. You're on of those people who enjoys misery, likes the drama and excitement from it, and especially all the attention and pity other ignorant people provide u in response to it. U won't see me trying to change ur mind. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I just converted my sleeve to the SADI-S in Mexico on 8/11/16. And yes, it cost a lot less and I was scared shirtless because of that. But thankfully all went really well, I got great care, and now 8 days later I'm home and down 12lbs- which I'm still in shock from. Because like u, before the revision I tried my damn seat to lose my regain naturally and like u I had the nerve to gain weight on a 800 calorie/day diet! I was sooo pissed and honestly concerned that meant this revision would not work. Who knows what tomorrow holds, I'm still terrified of regain and/or not losing. I don't think I'll really believe it's working until I'm back down to my old goal weight. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
