To all of the September Sleevers! Just wanted to let you all know I had my Sleeve surgery this past Thursday, Sept 1st. I was nervous a few days before, but the day of surgery, I was unusually calm. Surgery lasted about an hr and I was in recovery for a few hrs due to sleep apnea, they need to monitor longer. I was up walking soon after. Just felt like gas pains and it did travel to my shoulder. I had a nice private room at the end of the corridor, nice and quiet! I didn't like the pain meds, felt nauseous, so I just took liquid Tylenol. I was able to have liquids on day two, had a bit of broth, decaf tea, but isopure was nasty! I sip everything slowly and got it down ok. I came home today, only pain is where they put drainage tube, not my stomach! It just feels sore like stitch pain, but very tolerable. I got some Premier Protein drinks in chocolate, they are 30 grams of protein. Much tastier than isopure! Just a bit tired from hospital and a little sore. I had a great surgeon and hospital staff was amazing. Hoping for all of you to have a speedy recovery!! The best thing is to be prepared beforehand and go in positive!

Congrats! I'm with you on the gas thing.. In my shoulder too.. Trying to walk it off. Had surgery today at 1pm.

My surgeon gave me a sample pack of vitamins for post sleeve surgery. Said I would need four a day chewable, but these things are nickel size! Any suggestions on multi vitamins post op? These are made by FUSION.

Hi ..same for me @HansSolo1977! My surgery is on 9/1 ..this is my 6th day of liquid diet and I am 5'1" Last Friday I was 203lbs at pre op Dr visit, today I weighed 196 at hospital pre op testing. Scared and nervous too, but some of the before and after pics on here are so inspirational.. It's a great motivator! Good Luck next week!

Thanks @ OKCPirate. I also have taken liquid magnesium drops before and they work well. Not sure how my body will react yet, surgery is 9/1. I'm gonna try the Centrum.

I'm scheduled for surgery 9/1. I have told my employer it will be 4-6 weeks till I can return. I am a licensed massage therapist. Even though I am only working two days a week, I will turn 60 next month and it is a very physically demanding job. I suffer from sleep apnea as well, wasn't able to tolerate cpap so between lack of sleep and now food, not taking any chances.

I agree KristenLe..I have confidence in my surgeon and hoping for a good outcome!

I'm 9/1..doing the same! The real test is Sat as I have a family party.. They will have cake while I have a Protein shake! But I lost 5 lbs so far so I'm excited!

I'm 9/1...good luck to all.. I'm day 3 liquid diet.. It's boring but doable.. Getting nervous! I need to stop reading the post surgery posts on this app..although I would like some insight, everyone has a different experience.. I just want to stay positive and forge ahead to a new me..some of these posts are very discouraging!

Its day one for me of pre-op liquids. I'm just tired from not having morning coffee and switching to decaf. I will tell you that the Proti chocolate protein shakes are great! Got a case from my surgeons office, already pre measured bottles..just add water. Also the Proti protein bars in Carmel Crunch and Salted Toffee Pretzel are delish. Snack is a sugar free jello cup, and a sugar free Popsicle. Hopefully I will have more energy next few days. Surgery date is Sept 1st.

Having the" last supper" tonight. Tomorrow starts liquid diet.. Surgery on 9/1..Here's to all of us! We got this!

It took 7 months to complete tests but only five days for insurance approval. I'm doing the sleeve on Sept 1st..doing liquid diet starting Sat.. I'm nervous but excited too. Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App

Hi @ShrinkingKritta..I think it all depends on the surgeon and each individual. My BMI is at 37.9 right now, so although it's difficult to do liquid diet, it will shrink liver and prepare me for what's to come???????? Good luck to you too! Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App

Thanks marrse! When is your birthday? I'm guessing no cake for us???????? My surgeon requires at least 12days with Protein shakes, Jello , juices broth. Etc. to shrink liver.
