Once again.....Thanks.....I needed to read and digest your words. I think alot of the stall is the stress I have put myself under this last week. As far as my friend, we are different people.....actually....I was the one who drove her to the seminar and all the dietician and doctors appts in Houston. I am not the competitive type. I want what is best for her. Had I had bypass....it would have been a disaster for me, considering my health issues. After talking to my son, ( also banded), I started looking at my lost inches and got happy again. I just don't know what I would do without the support of all of you. I am truly BLESSED!

My son warned me about white bread. Try toasting it. I haven't had a problem with saltines, but I did make a scrambled egg sandwich, and you are right, no bread! Hey, congrats on another 2lbs. I know I vented on the other thread about no weight loss, but after talking to my son ( he is banded) , I was encouraged. I am losing inches, so I should see that as a victory. -
Thanks girls! Maybe it is my anxiety over my daughter's health. Yeah, well, come drive in Houston.....it is crazy. Most of my friend's won't drive the freeways, but that is something I refuse to give up unless it is raining. I hope the cpap and the vitamin D will help. I hate anxiety. Okay, now I am venting.....I am walking every morning....eating 900-1000 cal a day, drinking 8 glasses of water, and this weight is not coming off......to top it off....my friend and I went into this wls together ....she opted for gastric bypass....and in 10 days has lost 16lbs. I guess I just thought I would lose faster....I am not discouraged.....just a little frustrated.....remember, I am only venting! :confused2:

Thank you....for your concern. Well, I said I was going to send my cpap back, but yesterday the doctor said for me to use it until I lost 40lbs. He said it would help with my anxiety which I started having after surgery. Has anyone had anxiety since surgery? I only get it when I drive on the freeways. Maybe it doesn't have anything to do with the surgery.

I cooked a pot of navy Beans.....it was heavenly. Another thing....I ate Parmesan Crusted Fish with veggies by Lean Cuisine. It was awesome. It is all soft food. -
Thanks to all for the prayers for my daughter. She is very weepy. I am going to bring her to my house so I can be with her 24/7. The grandbaby is doing great..... and hubby is doing a great job. Well, I went out to eat for the first time since surgery. I had a 1/4 cup of guacomole and a cheese enchilada. I still did not go over 900calories for the day. It was yum, but not as yum as losing a pound. I went to the endocrinologist today......thyroid was normal, but vitamin D in my body is very low so I will have to take a prescription of vitamin D for six months. I am so glad I started going to a specialist. My primary care doctor would have never checked the vitamin levels. Hopefully, this will prevent osteoporosis. CONGRATS LORI! Wow, fifty pounds......awesome! Janet, can we read the article when it comes out?

AWESOME! Nancy, you are an inspiration to us too! -
Janet .....this is number 8, but this was my baby girl's first baby....she is 31. She had a twenty hour labor then when she delivered she hemorrhaged. Her blood count is 7. She is taking mega doses of iron instead of getting a transfusion. So she needs alot of help. My grandaughter is fine....she weighed 8.2lbs. We are blessed.

:thumbup:Yea! Phyllser is back! :thumbup:We missed you! :sad:This thread cannot function properly without you and Indiogirl. I hope you had a great time on your vacation. -
Well, I haven't been posting or reading the posts because I have a new grandaughter. Just losing the small amount of weight has really helped me be more mobile. I think I had a PB today. I waited to long to eat and when I did I ate tuna and crackers. I took a large bite.....my chest started hurting.....and I started getting slime in my mouth. I did that little trick someone said to do.....putting my arms above my head....and it worked. I hope I don't do that again.....it hurts!:Banane37::eek::sleep2:

So glad you are home . Your were in my prayers. Take it easy. I here housework is really bad after gall bladder surgery. All doctors need to tell husbands that one.....oh , and cooking too!

I agree with you......some people....like my husband....really need a cpap. Sleep apnea can also keep you from losing weight. I just don't need it anymore. Wow, you have really lost alot of weight since April....that is awesome. -

Yeah, I have a CPAP mask and it is crap. I hardly used it and now with the weight loss ....I don't need it. Insurance pays some and I pay nine bucks a month. I am about to pack it up and send it back. -

Who's Getting Banded in July?
Charlene K replied to SanDiegoSusan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Me too!!! I am stuck. I got advice from Indiogirl on the thread"mentor, I am here for you". She gave me good advice and I am going to stay off the scales for three days. I am walking every morning and eating less than a 1000 calories a day. Our bodies are still adjusting. We just have to keep on keepin on.:thumbup: -
Thanks Janet! I just needed my mentor to get me back on track. I do plan to increase my walking. I walk at 6am because by 8am it is over 90 degrees here. I also plan on joining Curves or water aerobics. Curves is just a few blocks away and when it comes to exercise the closer ....the better. Yes, because of my past gastro problems the all protein diet is not good for me. I can start eating fruit today so that is what I will do. I WILL STAY OFF THE SCALE FOR THE NEXT THREE DAYS! Oh by the way, my daughter is being induced on friday and I will have a new grandaughter. So I will be busy.

Thanks Charlene - Yes I have been watching the news you and yours are in my prayers. "Stocked up on tuna & water" LOVE IT  In the mist of a hurricane you are the best prepared bander I know - I am proud of you:thumbup: Thanks for prayers! Edouardo turned out to be a whimp. We just had blowing rain. Now, I have plenty of tuna for the week. I am frustrated with my loss. I increased my calories to 800-1000, ....I am walking 30 minutes a day, and I am drinking 8 glasses of Water a day. I lost 3lbs since last wednesday and gained back a pound. I am eating more carbs.....could that be the problem?
-
Yes, a new journey. I am now on soft food for 4 weeks. I fell off the wagon yesterday and ate a few vanilla wafers......back on track today. I can't wait for a fill to curb my hunger. Aug 21 will be my first one. I raised my calorie intake to 800-1000 and I am walking 30 minutes a day. Best wishes to you too!
-
HALLELUJAH! Great news! By the way, say a prayer for all of us down by the Texas Coast. The storm should be in around 1p tomorrow, but I stocked up today on packs of tuna and Water....wouldn't want to sabotage my loss!
-
Hang in there Ellen! I gained six lbs from surgery....then lost the six plus now eight. I increased my intake from 500 to 700 and now 800-1000. I am walking 30 min a day. I am 18 days out of surgery and have lost 14lbs. It takes time.....don't get discouraged.

Welcome! You will get support and info at LBT. I know about adhesions. I think my doctor took care of some of my pain too....at least temporarily. Walking is excellent for recovery.
