Long, I bet you had a great time in Vegas. I like the shows. My son got married there his second time around. We had so much fun. Well, I missed my september goal by one lb. I am really going to try and kick butt next month. I have been babysitting my new grandbaby so I have been sidetracked. No excuses. I won't lose 60lbs in 3 months, but I am going to shoot for 45 by Oct 16th and 50 for Nov 1. Thanks for being an inspiration.

Orea, Glad to see you are still on LBT. I haven't seen you on the Mentor thread or the 50's thread. You are doing great. Don't put alot into your first fill. I have had my third and after the 2nd week of the fills I get hungry. Journal. Journal. Journal. It is the only way I can stay in check.

OK gang I need a face lift before Wed - I have been messing with my makeup for the commercial - and OMG - my face is awful... Well, I guess I am just going to have to tell them to put a soft focus lens on the camera  Hope you are all having a good Sunday - I got my nails done - took my 2 fur babies to a new groomer - Petco opened around the corner from my house - I think I am going to like this new groomer - she was very nice and a big animal lover - I was scared at 1st - cuz they have been going to PetSmart for a few yrs - but they don't always do a great job - I think this new girl will .. You look great in your pics. Don't worry. YOU look MARVELOUS! DARLING! What kind of dogs do you have? I have a 10 month old Brussels Griffon. You know, that little brown dog in "As Good As It Gets". He is a character and had I known how hyper he was I might have gotten another poodle.

RE: Calories per day, I just read 3 pages of posts from while I was gone and there was a lot of discussion as to how many calories a day to eat. My average is 700-800 and that is w/o counting my exercise. I don't want to get in the habit of exercising for more food. Now, I know your secret to losing so much.....the 800cal a day. I have gotten off track. Between you and Janet sharing your calorie counts, I see my problem. I have been counting my exercise. That ends today. Your right, exercising for more food is a slippery slope because some days I can't exercise. Okay, today, a new day, a new strategy. Let's see how much I can lose a week now. I was shy 2lbs of my 10lb goal for the month, but I am not discouraged.....I have a new plan. I get hungry two weeks after a fill, and it has been two weeks. MY next fill is Oct 20th. This will be a challenge.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Isopure drink is YUK! I like the Bariatric Advantage shake. Of course, I doctor it up with sf syrups that you use in coffee, and sometimes I put flavored yogurt in it. The vanilla and strawberry are my favorites. You can get samples from the website....not sure of the price. -
joanne! Congrats! From me too!

Glad you made it back. I wondered if you evacuated. We came back the 13th and were without power for six days. I am so grateful we did not have damage. I have had 3 fills and can still eat a whole Lean Cuisine. I have been getting stuck though, which tells me I do have more restriction. I am getting another fil in October and one in November. I hope to reach a sweet spot by then. I think I only have 3cc or less in a 10cc band. I have to journal all my food or I will overeat.
-
Janet, I am just checking in. I slimed yesterday on tuna. I guess i have more restriction than I thought. I haven't been able to walk because the mosquitos here (caused by Ike) are HUGE. I think they will be a problem until the trucks come around and pick up all the carpet, limbs, and fences laying out at the street. Curves just got their power back ....so no excuses....I need to get down there and exercise. I have a personal goal of losing 10lbs by the 28th of the month. It will be close. Congrats on the commercial. Did you make it yet? Long....congrats on helpling at the bariatric seminars. You will be an inspiration.

I can empathize with you. The company I worked for closed the department I worked in back in 2000. At the time, I needed colon surgery so I had to pay for a Cobra plan. It is a shock to your life. You have youth on your side. Take one day at a time. Try to be mindful of your eating habits. I turned to food and that is when I piled on the lbs. I will be praying for you to find a job even better than the one you had. We are here for you.
-
Yeah, and when you get that pain and start sliming......do not drink fluids! It adds insult to injury. I just did it about an hour ago. :girl_hug:

Try raising your arms over your head. It helped me.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I got a little fill on thursday.....I ate a hamburger patty with no problems...then I ate a low fat cheese stick and I felt restriction. I would rather go slow too. Getting an overfill scares me. I did find eating hard protein takes care of my hunger. I eat eggbeaters and they are low in calories and high in protein. Hang in there! -
If we journaled our food, exercised everday, and ate at scheduled times we could lose 10lb a month......oh yes, get a handle on our "head hunger". The stresses of life come upon us , and the first thing we do is ignore our journey. We didn't get this way by being disciplined and thinking only of ourselves. It is tough, but I think if we continue to support one another through LBT, we WILL reach our goals.
-
My goal is to lose 10lbs a month.....I know that is a lofty goal, but the nurse told me that the Dr. would like for me to lose 10lb a month. Maybe she thought I was a bypass patient. Anyway, I only have ten more days to lose five lbs. I will try my best, but I won't be upset if it is only half of that. Being upset only makes me eat bad food.

congratulations jb!!!!!!!!!!! -
I know I have a 10cc band, but I am so confused due to the fact I had air in my band when I went for my first fill. I had restriction, then after they took the air out, I didn't . Anyway, I have been three times and I think I have 3cc now. I am going in Oct and Nov. I should reach good restriction then.
-
Yea! My internet is back up and PTL! after six days we have power restored to our home. I went to see Dr. Davis today and got another fill. He said I only had 1.5 in my band and he put more in....I am not really sure how much I have now....maybe 3cc. I don't feel any different than before today, but I do know it may take a couple of days to feel the restriction. I kinda feel like you about the eating. I usually eat eggbeaters in the morning, then a cup for lunch and a cup for dinner. I get three snacks in too. I just have to journal or I can go over on the calories.
-
Hey Bandsters! My internet just came back up and guess what?? I have power!!!!!!!!! Thank you God!!! I went to see Dr. Davis and he gave me another fill. I guess I was wrong about the amount in my band. I only had 1.5 cc and he put 1cc. It didn't do much, but I would rather take it slow. I am going for the next two months for fills. Once again, thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.
-
I guess all doctors have there own guidelines. Dr. Davis just saw me nine days ago and wants to see me tomorrow for another fill. He said I just don't have enough restriction. I agree. I think I have 3.5cc now. I have set up appts for Oct and Nov for fills. Maybe, after tomorrow I won't need them. I have a 10cc band too.
-
Thanks, JM. What's the scoop on your banding? Are you getting closer? After tomorrow, I am getting serious again with my new lifestyle. I really need the support from all of you. When I am not reading the posts, I get off track. I was thinking about joining the food addiction group starting at the Methodist Hospital. I think I am really addicted to food. My dad, Lord rest his soul, was an alcoholic and maybe I have that gene. It is a day, by day, battle. Well, I will post when I get back from the fill.

Thanks Janet. Yes, it is still warm, but a front came in the day after the hurricane, so it has been in the sixties at night and eighties during the day. I know, I am so thankful. It just breaks my heart to see all the devastation. I have been through hurricanes before, but I think this was the worst as far as damage. Not one signal light in our city of 60,000 is working. Power poles are laying in the streets. 8,500 power people have come here from all over the US including Canada. Surely things will get better in a few more days. There are over 2 million customers without power. Thank God, I bought that generator.
-
I can tell you where a few of us went.....we ran from IKE. I still don't have power, but just got internet. It is pretty bad down here in the Houston-Galveston area, especially Galveston and coastal towns. I am going tomorrow for a 3rd fill. I hope to get closer to a REAL restriction. I still can eat a cup of food at a time, and I know I shouldn't be eating that much. My dr wants me eating half a cup six times a day.
-
I just got internet back a few minutes ago, but no power....we are on generator....bought that for Rita three yrs ago. It is devastating. Three or more towns were wiped out. They were east of Galveston. Many have died.....the first responders have not finished going through Galveston and the other towns. The eye wall went past us....high winds....a few tornados. Praise the Lord, we only had a little roof damage. I came back on saturday, but did not have a phone or internet until now. They put up new poles today, maybe we will get power tomorrow. Gas is hard to find and food , well, it is slim pickings. Lines are long, but the people are strong. Thanks for prayers and keep them coming. So, needless to say with all the drama I did not stay on program. I ate what we could find, and of course, I drank alot of Water. Before the storm came I had lost 4lbs ....only to find them when we got out of town. I am going for my 3rd fill tomorrow. I am hoping this will give me the help I need. I did Pb today on a low fat cheese stick with thin sliced ham. Boy, that hurts! Once, again, thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I missed all of you!
-
Yeah, I missed it. I love Biggest Looser. Maybe I will get back into Dr. Phil. Well, I got my tuna, water and protein shakes ready again for IKE. This time I think it is the real deal. We are under a voluntary evacuation, but tomorrow it will be mandatory. I guess we will board up. You guys please pray for our area(Texas Gulf coast). Well, I think this second fill has helped a little, but I still can eat a whole lean cuisine without restriction. Is that bad?
