Janet......good to hear from you. Are you feeling better? I went out for dinner last night and shared a dessert with DH for my birthday. It was so much better than him buying me a cake. I thought I would get out this morning and walk, but my sweet mother called to tell me to stay in and lock my doors. There was a carjacker a couple of miles from here that shot at a man and then shot at the police. That was six hours ago and they still haven't found him. You know this is Texas so the sheriff's dept is out with horses and dogs. Anyway, I am not walking today. Long, it sounds as though things are going well with mom and grandma. I need a tweek too. I am going next monday for a fill. My son is having surgery on thursday so I will be busy caring for him. He is divorced so I am the designated caregiver. I don't mind. I like to baby my grown kids ..........once in awhile. My husband is excited because he is looking forward to some good cooking.....lol.

Orea, I have always retained fluid in warm weather.....not as bad as it used to be now that I have cut my carbs down. I have not been getting in all my water. I will increase it today. I got an appt for a fill next monday, so I want to lose at least a couple of lbs before I see the dr.

Thanks Orea! Well, I am scheduled for a fill this thursday, but my 35yr old son is having shoulder surgery. Since he is single(divorced) I am taking him so I will have to cancel. Hopefully they can fit me in next week. It's weird. Some days I feel I can eat anything.....other days.....two bites and I am almost stuck. Anyway, I think my band needs tweeking. Do any of you put on weight in the spring and summer? The weather is in the 80's here and I have put on a couple of lbs.

I hear ya! I was a tight 26/28 and I just bought a 18-20 jacket (1x). My goal is a 14/16, but I don't know if I will ever get out of the w's either. We can only hope. Well, I am going out this evening for a piece of cake to celebrate my B-day.......yep....it happens once a year. I just want to be at goal before I turn 60.

You are probably experiencing a little thing called "bandster's hell". It is after surgery and before a fill. I really had a tough time with it. The best thing I found was plan your food and journal whatever you put in your mouth. You will make it! Have a good time visiting your Mom. I just came back from seeing mine across town. She is 85 and lives in a retirement home. Take care!:thumbup::thumbup:

On the computer you highlight the serving then just update it.....like put in .50 for half then click on update. On the Ipod it is under Livestrong....there is a place to click on the amont.

Orea, is the The Daily Plate. I like it because I can use it on my IPhone when I am out, and then use my computer when I am home.
-
Orea, I have Nutrition, My Plate, and Weight Tracker. Also I have Restaurants . I think they were all free.

Katy, you will be in my prayers. I will pray for you a successful surgery and recovery. Please keep in touch. Love and Hugs going your way! -
AWESOME WEIGHT LOSS! I wish they had had the band when I was younger because believe me it is much harder when you get over 50. But everyday is a new day for this band journey. Some days I don't do so good, but I just wake up the next day and determine it will be a successful day. Yep, exercise and journaling food is the key to wl success.

In 2008 Aetna in Texas did not pay for gastric sleeve. I went with my DH in December for the seminar and they still were not paying in Texas. He did say one patient that was self pay had complications, and her insurance did pay for the complications. There are probably a few insurance companies that pay in other states. Yep, they do basically cut you stomach to a pouch. The hormone in the stomach that causes hunger is gone. You do absorb all of the calories, but you don't eat much. You do have to take more vitamins than with the band. -

I think you are making a wise choice. Dr. Davis said I really needed the gastric sleeve because my BMI was so high, but insurance would not pay. It takes care of that hormone than causes hunger. You probably will lose a lot more weight. I wish you success on the sleeve. I would do it if I were in your situation. -
Long, Coke roast..........YUM! I will have to try it. So glad to see Grandma is doing great during this transition. Mom, well, hopefully things will get better. Take Care of Yourself! I have been walking everyday, but the ticker is not moving......I WILL keep it up and I know I will eventually go down.

Wow, Joanne, you have really dropped the weight. You sure have a pretty daughter. I bet you can't wait to see them. -
Long, take care of yourself. Maybe those exercises have put a strain on your back. I hope your Grandmother settles in without any problems. It is so hard on the elderly to move. When we moved my mother to a retirement home she went in the hospital because she dehydrated. Having her in place with help will give all of you peace of mind. JANET.....where are you? Did I miss something? I thought your cruise was in a couple of weeks. I hope everything is okay. Apples, I sent you a message......I want your sugar free dessert recipes. Joanne.....you are doing awesome. I know you are getting excited about seeing your family. Pyllser.....hope you get to feeling better soon.
