Lovegrapes, I would talk to them about a gastric sleeve if they take the band out. My doctor highly recommends them. I just wish my insurance would have paid for one. I asked the Dr. last week about it and he said ins co. are still not paying for it in Texas.

JANET.........just checking in. Not much to report other than I am back to walking every day. The ticker is not moving, but I am not discouraged. I want you to have a great time on your cruise. When will you be back? I am not getting email notifications from LBT so I have not been good at checking in. Take Care! Drink a Miami Vice for me.........I just love those things and I don't drink.

Long, join the club..... Oh, well, the older you get the more you don't want people to remember it. WOW! a size ten..........the only size ten I wear is shoe size. LOL. That is just awesome. YOU GO GIRL!

I agree with lovegrapes. I think you might need to go back to your doctor and tell them your problem. I know in my situation my eating habits are my problem . I admit I thought the band was a somewhat of a majic bullet for me......I was wrong. It is just a tool. Now, had I had a gastric sleeve(insurance would not pay) I would have had a much easier time losing, and I probably would be close to goal. Anyway, what is the saying"Slow and steady wins the race".....that's me! That is why I have a turtle in the weeds on my ticker.

WOW! The Ambien CR gives me night terrors. I bought some stuff at GNC....5-HTP......have you heard of it. I saw an article in First magazine so I am going to try it.

It has taken me 7 mos to learn how to eat without getting stuck.....and I still get stuck. I got a fill on Monday and yesterday I ate half of an eggroll and got stuck. I ate it too fast and it had shrimp in it. If you are eating too fast and not chewing you probably are not too tight. If you are chewing your food good and throwing up......then maybe you are too tight. The band can be fickle. I believe I would have not lost this much weight without the band. It is work, but you can do it. Work with it and it will work for you.

Joiful, I am so sad to hear about all of your health issues. My husband has a neuro stimulator in his back. It does take care of the pain in his leg. He is having gastric bypass in June. He is able to walk and swim. So, no there is help for your pain. You should be able to walk and swim. Stay on your lap band journey because the more weight you lose the pain will ease up. You just need support. Start reading and posting again. I hope you recover quickly from your surgery. My husband had three surgeries for his stimulator and the recovery was minimal. Take Care!

Donna, you look so good in the new picture. WTG!

BACK AT YA! Hey, about those papaya tabs.....when do you take them? I told the PA yesterday that when I get stuck it is mainly trapped gas. She suggested I take gas-x before I eat. Then I thought about those papaya tabs you take. Do they help with the gas and digestion?

Amen, Apples! PJ.........we are proud of you! I get props from my kids and those that have worried about my health for years. But I guess it is weird.......there is always that one person that we want validation from and they have too much pride to give it or they just don't think it is important to us.

I take ambien too. I break a 5mg in half.....sometimes I whole one. They are so expensive. I wish I could find something cheaper. I tried the time released and it gave me night terrors.

I'd be freaking out too! AWESOME!

Just checking in. Long, how are you this morning? You and your husband have been in my thoughts and prayers. Take Care! Janet, well, that little challenge has been sobotaged by stuff beyond my control. It has rained most of the week....NO WALKING. My son had shoulder surgery and I started cooking for him. (HE is staying with us). I WILL get back on track because I get a fill on Monday and I need a loss on the scales. OKay.....enough excuses. You know, if I didn't have all of you LBT peeps......I wouldn't have anyone to share band stuff with..........Thanks!...to all of you for help. Apples , Long, I put the coke in the roast........boy it was tender.

OMG!......I am so glad your husband was not hurt. How scary for him. What is up with all this crime? The guy they caught the other night near our neighborhood not only carjacked someone that morning, but he also had kidnapped and murdered a sales clerk from Catherines. Girl, I will pray for your husband and you. That kind of ordeal is hard to get out of your mind. Please take care of yourself!

Helene, Oh, I am so glad you are on the mend. Just keep eating like you had a band. I know, easier said than done, but I am sure you have better eating habits than before the band. Stay in touch. We still want to hear from you. Take care! -
Vent away.....that is why we are here.....to support you. It is tough. You can do this! Just take one day at a time and keep focused on the rewards. At least you have the band to keep you from gaining weight.

Wow! You already have a sleeve day. Good for you! I am concerned about Katy. I have had 3 laparotomies(open surgeries).....it is quite a recovery. She may be in the hospital up to a week. We may not hear from her for a few days. -

amen and amen!!!!!!!!!

Janet, Awesome pic of all of you! Well, the police did get their man last night around 10p. He was hiding in a neighborhood in a shed. He is in alot of trouble. I am getting tired of all this drama in our town. We have experienced a lot of growth and with it came the criminal element. I wish I was going on a cruise with you. I just love cruises.
-
Okay, Janet, are you on your cruise already? Missing your posts!

My surgeon has a new book out called The Expert's Guide to WEIGHT-LOSS Surgery by Dr. Garth Davis. It may have some information in there that might be helpful. He talks about the Gastric Sleeve. Like I said before, it is something I would have done had insurance paid for it. -
Thanks Long.....I may have been fat in my fifties, but I am going to be slim in my sixties.........I have two years to get to a normal BMI.
-
Apples, thanks for the sf recipes. I will definitely make them.

Thanks! They tracked the gunman with dogs to a neighborhood and then lost his scent. They said someone picked him up. I am sure this was planned. It was in a gated community. Desperate times brings on crime. Oh well, no excuses now.....I need to get out and walk. Yeah, my DS has a tear in his shoulder and will be in a sling for six weeks. His work requires alot of travel so he should be mobil in a week or two. Meanwhile, I will spoil him.
