Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Joann.......I wished you lived by me so I could take quilting classes from you. You will be a hit in Korea. I bet you find some awesome fabric there. Katy.......You are on my prayer list. The Lord will see you through all of this. I know you must feel like Job, but you will get better. Take care of yourself!

OOPS!....I do have news. My new grandson will be born today by c-section. Please say a prayer for my daughter-in -law. They are taking him early because she has kidney stones. She had gastric bypass two years ago so she only gained 15lbs. The baby weighs over 6lbs now. He will be 3 weeks early.

Julie.........not much to report. It is beautiful today.....just finished walking. I am sorry you have to endure all that snow. I hope you get relief soon. By the time it gets here it is thunderstorms. I started back on pepcid yesterday, and I didn't slime or pb. I think the acid in my stomach was causing excessive gas which made me feel stuck. We will see. It sure was nice to eat and not feel stuck. I took pepcid for years and stopped a month after I was banded. I guess because of stresses in life I started having an over acid stomach again. Janet...........WE MISS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! APPLES.........YOU TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lovegrapes, the endoscopy may get the the problem. Maybe it is something they can fix with meds. Well, I think I found a help for my getting that stuck feeling. I started taking pepcid again and today I ate all day without feeling stuck. I think the acid in my stomach was causing me to feel stuck after a few bites. Anyway, I hope it works. I had taken pepcid for years and stopped a month after surgery. Maybe I just need it now.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Amen! We all need the "talk". I know what you mean about getting lax. And you are right about the chew , chew , chew......when I slow down I eat alot less. We are all in the same boat. 70lbs is awesome. Change things up...you will lose. Long, I went to the back dr. I am getting an injection in my back next week. I just hope I don't gain weight from it. The doctor said the walking is good , but my core muscles are very weak from all the abdominal surgeries. I must start working on my core. So, I bought one of those VQ Action chairs. You can sit and do resistance training. I tried standing and doing the bands, but it makes my back hurt. I hope this helps.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I find walking helps with my fatigue. It kinda cleans out the cobb webs in my mind. Considering all that you are going through, fatigue is probably normal. Establishing an exercise program before your surgery will help you. I started walking 6mos before surgery. I don't go fast, but just moving helps.

I guess all of us are getting a piece of that storm. We had t-storms today and the front should move in tomorrow. Hey, I told the dr. how I would get stuck because of the gas on my stomach. She said to try taking Gas-x before I eat. So, before we went out to eat tonight I chewed a gas-x, and I was able to burp between bites and not get stuck......Probably TMI, but I thought I would share.

Mrs Bubba......stay safe. It takes awhile to get emergency supplies to a flooded area. I hope your area doesn't have much damage. I am stocking up now for hurricane season. After last year I learned to be prepared. Water and food were in short supply because stores could not open without electricity. We don't think about that stuff till it happens.

Hollyb8, Try cutting your miralax down. Sometimes I just take a half of a cap. I am a 1951 model too. This is the place to catch up on the banding journey.

JoannM.......you are a wealth of information. I did not know about the chewable Omega 3. I will buy some. I bought the 1200 Omega 3 and when I opened them they were......HUGE!. I just finished 6mos. of vitaminD for a deficiency. It really sneaks up on you. It causes insommnia and anxiety......so my doctor says. I couldn't tell the difference. I still can't sleep at night. Thanks for the 411!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I too have problems with calcium. I take Miralax everyday. My doctor recommended it. It cost about 21 bucks for a 30 day supply. I mix it with water.

Those two items are what I thought about when I went looking. I found the tortilla container, but not the toddler plate. I also found a bread warmer that has a stone in it I think you microwave. I think the toddler bowl would be great......right size! I might hit the resale shops.....go junkin'. Yep, Janet is a brave girl. I wanted to take my two teenage grand daughters.....but just don't want the responsibility.

I have a question. When I eat a plate of food it gets cold before I finish. So, do any of you know where I can get an insulated dinner plate? I thought about putting a saucer in a tortilla warmer and cover it . Got any ideas?

You have my empathy. I suffer from adhesions too. Two of my colon surgeries were due to adhesions. Now they are growing over my port. I is the hazard of genetics and abdominal surgery. I wish someone would find a permanent cure to adhesions. I hope you don't have to have anymore surgeries.

    APPLES..........HAVE A GREAT TIME!
  19. I drink Miralax everyday. Also drink at least 60oz of fluid. Exercise helps too. I have had diverticulitis serveral times and had to have colon resections. Since the band I haven't had any problems because I drink alot of water and tea. I do take Miralax every night. Mix it in water. It has no taste. Check the warning on the label before you buy it to see if you might be sensitive to it.

Sharons, glad you are back. Yep, bread and french fries are not a banders friend. Eating protein first is supposed to fill the pouch so you aren't hungry. If you are getting stuck.......as I do alot........chew, chew, chew.

There, I set mine for 25lbs by the end of July. I am a butterfly climbing to success. Sounds corny, but climbing is hard for me and flying is impossible. I was just being REAL.

Oh, now I see. I am going to set a challenge up for the end of July. I can see I won't make the Easter Challenge I set for myself. I want to lose 25lbs by the end of July.......so that would be........approx. 1.4lbs a week.

Peeps, sounds like we are in that part of the journey where we are seeing the glass half empty and not half full. I am going through this stinkin thinkin where I don't see progress so I start going back to bad eating habits. We need to start a July Butterfly challenge! How much should the challenge be?
