Janet......checking in. I haven't weighed, but I am making better choices in food and walking everyday. Yea! on the wii! Now I am hooked on Farmtown, and I don't even like to garden. Apples......thanks for all the advice and words of wisdom. PJ..........congrats on the weightloss..........we are here to cheer you on, but it does help when those closest to us give us props. Long.......yep, they are jealous. My LIFE Group at church continues to compliment me and pray for my success. Then there is my friend of 30 years that had the bypass surgery and has lost 120 since August. Never a compliment from her...........only about how people are shocked that she has lost so much weight. I am happy for her, but I still had the right surgery for me. I honestly think she is jealous that I have such a wonderful support group. I guess I brag on all of you too much. Congrats to all of my lap-band buddies! We WILL be successful.

I bought it at Walmart yesterday. In the pharmacy section.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. You were a devoted daughter. Yeah, my husband is on a liquid diet for Gastric bypass on the 17th. I tried to stay on it with him , but I need to eat at least once a day because I am getting hungry. I must say I am doing much better staying on track since I don't have to cook. I get a fill on thursday. -
AWESOME! I haven't seen single digit clothes in 40 years. I figure it will take me two years to reach my personal goal. Now that DH is on a liquid diet I don't have to cook and staying on track is much easier.

Okay, butterflies.........it's been two days since I posted........not anything to report other than I am eating less, but I have not weighed. So, just checking in to say HI! HI!

I went with DH for his pre-op tests and to see Dr. Garth. I asked Dr Davis about Big Medicine. For right now the networks are going to run the existing episodes. He does not know if there will be more. I asked his PA how many calories I should be eating and he said 800 c .........six meals........1/2 cup each meal. Wow! I am going way over that. He said when I get the right restriction that I would be satisfied at 1/2 cup. I go next week for another fill. I am so glad everyone is doing so well. We WILL be successful!

Orea, you are doing great cosidering the stress and illness you have been through. Just take it one day at a time. How are the interviews going? Well, DH went to the hospital for the pre-op tests. We talked to Dr. Garth. He said there may not be new Big Medicine episodes. He said the network was satisfied with the 26 rerunning. I asked his PA just how many calories am I suppose to eat. He said 800c. He said I should eat 1/2 cup six times a day. Now, that is when my restriction is at the sweet spot. I told him I am eating 1200 a day or more and more than a half a cup. He said I would get there. So, I go next week for a fill. I hate protein shakes, but it is for support. It will help me get back on track. -
Thanks Apple.......I do forget about the stress. Well, Hee Hee, I was helping Janet harvest on her farm and my computer hiccuped and I lost her. So, back to facebook. Have fun this weekend. It sounds like you have a blast at the lake.
-
Thanks, Janet. I think you are right. No more eating out at least for a few months. My DH is religious about doctor's orders. He will lose fast, and I will try to keep up with him.

Abdominal surgery is tough especially for someone who has never had surgery. You will be able to help her because the recovery is the same. She really needs to walk. My DH started shakes today for his pre-op, I am so glad we are going to be on the same page as far as a eating plan. You and your sister will be too. My friend had gastric bypass when I had lap band. She has lost all of her weight.....120lbs.........I have another 80 to go. I do get down sometimes when we are together and people are commenting on her weight loss and don't notice mine, but then I just remind myself the band is what was right for me. So Laura, don't let people distract you from your goal. You will get there and may even lose more than you had planned.

I am so glad you went to the dr today. I hope this fixes your problems. Take care! -
Janet............checking in. Not weighing...still walking. DH got a surgery date.....June 17th. So, he starts pre-op shakes tomorrow. I am going to do shakes in the evening so he isn't tempted to eat. I believe I will have better weight loss when he is on the same eating plan. Okay, LBT peeps, I'll try to be better at posting. I have been doing FARM TOWN on facebook and kinda got sidetracked. Apples........wish I had a cup of your energy Long..........WTG ON THE WEIGHTLOSS! Bubba........Hang in there! Joann.....wow, three lbs! woohoo! Meredith......vent away.......we all were told horror stories. Surgery of any kind is a risk, but a lifetime of obesity is riskier. Laura......I still have first bite syndrome from time to time. I started taking pepcid again and it has helped. I think my stomach is full of acid and gas when I eat.....then the gas gets trapped and I feel stuck. If you will just take a couple of bites then wait a few minutes till you burp, that feeling will go away. I had an unfill, now I eat too much. If I eat over 1200 calories a day I gain. That is me........very slow loser.
-
Okay, July Butterflies...........one more month! Keep checking in!
-
Did a bad thing yesterday.........made Neiman Marcus bars for my grand daughter's birthday and ate a bunch. I gained two lbs. Some habits just don't die. I still have the mindset that holidays and birthdays are the exception to eating sliders. Now, I will have to work all week to get it off.

AWESOME WEIGHT LOSE! WTG!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, we will get there!

Long, his recommendation is gastric sleeve or bypass for those over 50BMI and more than 100lbs, but if your BMI is that high so are the lbs. I know what you mean about the cost....I think a sleeve is around 20,000. Yes, Dr Davis is doing his gastric bypass. He should get a date next week. When I asked the PA in January about Big Medicine she said they were waiting on funding. Since then he has moved from Methodist Hospital to Herman Hospital. When I go in June I will ask about the show. -
I haven't watched the show , but I will........is it on Lifetime? Summer TV sucks so I am always looking for something new.
-
Phyl, you look fabulous in that new pic!

Okay, checking in........canceled my fill for tomorrow. I am tight in the morning and it loosens throughout the day. So, I am gonna go in a couple of weeks. Okay, peeps, let's keep this thread going. Almost to our bandiversary!

I would have gotten a sleeve if insurance had paid because that is what the doctor recommended for me. I was at a BMI of 52 and he thinks when it is that high you need a sleeve. He thinks the band works for those that need to lose less than 100lbs. That is only one doctor's opinion. I have never lost this much weight in my life. The band definitely is a good tool. By the way, DH is approved for gastric bypass. Now he needs a surgery date. -

Yeah, I wish I had the sleeve, but insurance is just now starting to pay for it. Had I been self-pay......I would have gotten one. -

Girl, I am having the same problem. I am tight in the morning then as the day goes on I loosen up. I was scheduled for a fill tomorrow, but I canceled. I think it is water retention from the warm weather. It has been around 90 degrees. I scheduled an appt. for June 11.
