Okay gang, It is the 26th and no one has checked in today. I went to the dr.....had good bloodwork report. I asked about lowering my thyroid med, but he said my numbers were perfect. If I got hot and dizzy walking.......it was just too hot to walk.....my thyroid medication. Anyway, the last couple of days the humidity has been lower and so it was nice to walk. Now, about food......not good. I went on another cracker attack. I did not count my calories today. Every time I don't journal my food I fall off the bandwagon. So, tomorrow, I am going to try to shake it for two meals and a snack. I reel this appetite in before I weigh in next Wed. Still no grandbaby......any day now. I will be taking care of my two year old grand daughter. That will give me a workout . Melissa, I hope you are better now. Crzytchr, I bet this was a crazy week for you. Our school started this week. Oh, Pearland, Tx is in the Little League World Series. They won today and moved on to Saturday's Championship for the USA. Pearland is our town (city of 50,000). We are proud of our boys.
-
No baby yet, but I am hoping for this weekend. It will get me out of a couple of commitments . lol I just got back from the doc. I have a good report......bloodwork is good.....only low D. I think that is a norm . I bought 1000 u. of D and will start tomorrow. Pearland ( Southwest) lost last night. The Northwest was awesome. I think they are from Auburn WA. They are playing them again right now on ESPN. Two really good teams. GO USA this weekend!
-
Janet, I checked out the recipe rehab when you posted it last time. They do have some good stuff on there. Joyce, Congrats! on normal blood work. Yep, at our age that is real nice peace of mind. Yeah, I weighed 119 forty years ago. Janet, you are one fit lady. Great, we took the night flight too. Got home at 8am. I was beat all day long. Now, facing taking care of a 2yr old 24/7 I'll be tired, but not as tire as I was two years ago. I don't know how you got all of those chores done today after that long flight. Good for you!!! Okay, gotta turn on ESPN. Pearland, Tx is playing the Northwest in the Little League World Series. Go Pearland!!! Love our boys!!

Jessica, so glad your little man had a better day. Volunteering is so needed and rewarding not to mention it makes Jake proud to see his mom at school. My DD just picked up Sydney. The doctor said she is dilated to a little over 3. She said she would induce in two weeks, but doubts she will make it that long. So, we should have a baby soon. Apples, thanks for the recipes. What kind of icing do you put on the cherry nut.?.....buttercream? cream cheese?
-
Apples, I will get his mom to ask. That sounds great, and I would like the cherry nut too. Both of them sound like good cakes for the fall. The fair is in October. He has to have his entries in on the 8th. I want him to practice in September. He is going to be a busy boy. He is playing football and baseball along with tending to a calf. Do you mind sending me the recipes by email?

Checking in before babysitting.......I stayed in the pool for 2 hrs on my float. It is called a "jogger". You get on it and just kinda jog in the Water. I love it. Great.......Aloha! Glad you are back! Missed Ya! Melissa, I hope you get to feeling better soon. Well, my DS is moved in . He put his furniture in a POD, and rented a store room for the rest of his stuff. It is going to be a tight fit for awhile, but I don't want it to be too comfortable. He might stay too long. Apples, your seafood appetizer sounds awesome. I will write that one down. I found a cookie recipe for my GS to make......well, two recipes. One is chocolate chip with pepper......the other one is an oatmeal spice cookie with nutmeg, cloves, allspice, and pepper. I have eaten chocolate chip with pepper and it is so good. I have to keep it simple so he won't feel overwhelmed. Remember that pumpkin cake recipe you gave me last year? I think he could make that one for the cake judging. Janet, I bet your pool is HOT! with that kind of heat at night. Yep, a bath sounds better.

Good Morning! I just finished a walk in my old NB's while I wait for the new ones to come in. I think that thunderstorm last night was because we got a little front in. It was in the 80's this morning.......NICE! Apples, I will pray for your LB buddy. My cousin had rectal cancer and beat it. He is five years out from his bout. I like your sunporch worship. I can just imagine looking out at the fields and being full of gratitude for God's creation. I am thankful for farmers who provide for us. Our church doesn't have a sunporch, but we do have muffins, donuts, and granola bars along with juice and coffee. Don't worry......all I drink is a bottle of Water. Cheri, I think taking care of your parents is awesome. I do agree with Janet that there needs to be some kind of contract with the siblings. I know it will be tough, but you will be blessed beyond measure. Janet.....wow 119. I bet it is hard to do any exercise outside. You better stick to the gym. Eva, my DH and I bought have annuities. We haven't drawn on them yet, but I see it coming when DH officially retires. Jessica.....I am so sorry your little one had such a tough time at school. Yes, your son will feed off of your DH's negative comments if he doesn't like the school. I hope he finds a little friend there and develops a relationship that makes the rest of his problems go away. Hang in there! Julie, I am sorry I forgot why you were in the hospital last year. Do you think your shoulder could be from adhesions from your surgery. The reason I say that is yesterday I was reminded about my adhesions. I went to Penney's and bought a body shaper ( extra big too) and put it on last night. When I put it on over my abdomen and midriff pain shot down my leg and up to my jaw and into my upper back. I just can't wear anything tight on my abdomen because of all the scar tissue. I must be a nightmare inside. Anyway, I just remember how sick your were and thought maybe it might be coming from your surgery. Okay peeps.....gotta go get ready to swim at my friend's house then babysit this afternoon. DD has not delivered yet. I am thinking maybe she will be induced next week. Later!

We love you junking it up! Looks like you are back to your ol self again. Are you leaving tomorrow? I tried on the NB Shape ups like Sketchers. The shoe guy said they were a better shoe, but no wides. I need wide for my bunion....lol Wow! We are having a major T-storm right now, but it is moving fast....lots of wind and lightning. I was eating Optifast bar...doc says they are low glysemic, but they are pricey. Now I am eating Muscle Milk Light...chocolate peanut caramel. Walgreens had them on sale......3 for five bucks. 170 calories, 15 Protein,6 fat, 18 carbs, 4 fiber....Love em!
-
Good afternoon peeps! It is a hot one today......heat index is 105. Julie, if you have time I would love your bar recipes. They sound like something that would WOW the judges. I know you are busy now. I won't start teaching him till the middle of September. The mouth spray is Biotene. You would love the toothpaste and mouthwash too. I keep the spray in my purse.

Eva, I think DS was planning to move to Midtown Houston until he met his new girlfriend. Now I think he is waiting for her to plan a wedding and then move to Clear Lake near the gulf. He was married to his high school sweetheart. Although she loved us.... her parents always took priority. We did not see much of him for thirteen years. We try to keep everything family for my GS's sake. I hope DS's ex will keep herself in check when his new woman becomes family. Linda, poor Merry.......I just can't take seeing pups in pain. I hope she is better soon. Okay gang.....lost track of time. I have to go walk before the sun comes up. Then I am off to take my mother to the eye doctor to get ingrown eyelashes taken out. OUCH! She is brave. They grow in about every six weeks and start irritating her eyes. HUGS!
-
Julie, what kind of cookies and bars did you make? I just told my GS I would guide him through making cookies for the county fair (4H). I told him he could do bars, cookies, and a cake. Whew!! He is also showing a calf. Lexapro causes me to have dry mouth. When I was on the Protein Shakes my mouth was so dry I thought I was getting gum disease. That is one of the reasons I went off of the shakes. I use Biotene toothpaste, mouthwash, and spray for dry mouth. I love it. No alcohol so it feels so good. Probably the combination of Cymbalta and the pain meds really dries out your mouth. My DS is almost moved in. He travels alot with his job.....or he is at his new girlfriend's house. He told me the other day he loved her and was going to marry her. WOW! I haven't heard that come out of his mouth in the four years he has been divorced. It must be the real thing. Laura and Jessica.......Medals for both of you! Brave Mommy for the Day! I just bought some NB walking shoes on Amazon. They had the best price. All the reviews I read were five star. I did get the Velcro because I can adjust them better, and I am sick of my laces coming untied even when I double knot them. I sound old, but "it is what it is". Linda......How is Merry? Apples, thinking of you.......how is your arm? Great, you must be having such a good time.....can't wait to hear about it. Gwen......wow, Madrid.....awesome! Janet, Cheri, Laura K, Eva, Jodi, Melissa, Joyce, Judy, Phyl......hope you are having a nice evening. I know I am missing someone....Kurby...HI!

HI gang! We just finished helping my 36 year old son pack up his house.....yes, he moved in with us for a couple of months. He is already requesting his favorite meals, but finding out that we don't eat like that anymore. lol I did not walk this evening......it is just too hot! I was so excited this morning. I stepped on the scale and it said I lost 4lbs. Then DH stepped on the scale and he lost 4lbs too. Part of the scale was on the rug. Boo! What a let down. Oh well, I think I will stay off of it for a couple of days. Julie, wow! 36lb loss in one day. That was a gift. You will be able to get in a pool after Mayo finds out what in the heck is going on. HUGS! Linda, that is too funny about your DGD. My two yr old DGD was trying to hug my six year old last week and she said " she is so annoying". They pick up those phrases early now. Janet.......enjoy your "couch" time. You deserve it! Jessica.....thanks for the tip about Bill Cosby. I just love him. I have been a fan of his for forty years. We saw him perform in Hawaii forty years ago. Melissa, We love you!!! This is where we all come to vent and console. Cheri......Congrats on maintaining 160!!!!
-
Happy Bandiversary Julie!! Linda, I am glad you are able to get food down again. I have been there...miserable! I didn 't know you could get ps because of excess skin causing back problems. I have an appt with my dermatologist to start documenting rashes from my excess skin. I do know that insurance will pay then. Also the plastic surgeon told my friend that if your excess tummy skin(apron) hangs low enough insurance will pay. I bought a pedometer by Sportsline that counts calories, distance and steps. I think I paid 20 bucks for it. I love it! Okay gang.......gotta go! I am the towel girl for the baptisms at church. Have a great day!

I totally agree with you. I am looking at three places within five miles of me that offers water exercise. I am just waiting for DD to have her baby. I probably will start after Vegas. DD needs me right now. Janet, well, I went into my closet and got out a pair of NB shoes that I hadn't worn much. They did the trick for now. I wear orthotics so I have to find shoes I can take out the insoles. The Walgreens cream comes in a face and hand cream. I bought the face, but should have bought the hand. It is called Provectin. I am using it on my face and hands. We will see. Eva, Woohoo! less than a month. Laura, I know, Apples is so thoughtful. She is a Peach! My DH is walking with me in the evenings. We actually look forward to our walk. We both wear a pedometer. I wear mine all day. Today I burned 580 calories and walked 8835 steps. Wearing a pedometer makes me want to walk more. Laura K, I hope you had a great birthday! Joyce, I hope you get back to normal soon. Those storms are scary. I guess I would have to say that is one of my biggest fears.......lightning. I think I need a fill too, but Dr Davis said "give the band a rest." Whatever! 1 day, I think going into anything medical would be awesome. There are so many opportunities. Okay, gotta go! I'll check in tomorrow.
-
Happy Birthday Laura K!!!!!!
-
Eva, I just walked in a pair of Propet shoes that felt good in the house.....Yikes! They hurt. I will be going to hunt for a new pair of wide width walking shoes. I have to get this bunion fixed, but I am trying to wait till December. My back doctor said he would do it as long as it is simple....whatever that means. I hope you get your DSL fixed.....been missing ya!

Hi gang! I have been shopping at Stridrite for my 2 year old DGD. She has such a fat foot. Anyway, this is tax free weekend for Texas. All apparel, school supplies, and even diapers are tax free. So, that on top of the sales we saved. Apples, Your state MN, is playing Texas right now in the Little League World Series. Our town, Pearland, is the Texas team. We just hit a 3 run homer. Woo Hoo!!! Cheri, wow you have a lot going on in your family. HUGS and Prayers for your family and you too. Julie, I am glad Mimi made it through her teeth surgery. Any dental work on anybody is tough especially toddlers. Laura K......have a great time this weekend! One day, hang in there! There is a good position waiting for you. Janet, I gave those NB shoes to my DD. They were too tight. Now, I have some Propets I bought on QVC two years ago that were too tight. They fit just right now. Oh, I bought that Walgreens cream I was telling you about. I am using it on my hands. They are a wrinkled mess. After all, they are almost 60 years old. lol Jessica, your dr is not the first doc I have heard that tells people not to eat until hungry. This doctor had lap band himself and drank coffee all day and ate one meal at night. Wanna bet he gained his weight back? I think he was a GP...not the surgeon. I am so proud of you hitting the books. You will make an excellent nurse. Well, gotta get back to the World Series Game. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi gang! The rain past and so has my pain except for my new NB tennis shoes. They really put the "smarts" on my bunions. lol. I walked, but only half the time today. Jessica, Dr. Garth Davis is my surgeon. He is a sweetheart. He is training for a triathlon so he is really into eating lots of organic green stuff......which means he wants us to eat like him. I know he is right, but old habits die hard. I just got my new book today...Crack the Fat-Loss Code.....how to outsmart your metabolism and Conquer the diet plateau. It is written by a nationally known trainer, Wendy Chant. She has some really good recipes in the book.....high Protein. Great.........Have a Great time in Hawaii! I wish I was going. I just loved Maui. Janet, are you at a class tonight? Joyce, wow, lots of GKids and GGKids. The one we are waiting for will be number 10. I think that will be it. They range from 18 down to 2 and waiting. Laura, that settles it.....you have to come to Vegas and bring your pipe. We will all get high on fruit. That is as low cal as you can get. lol Love the baby pic of Nels. He looks like an angel. Well, I have to get off the computer. My DGS is waiting to play games. Goodnight All!!!

Hi gang.......no weight loss this week. The psychologist talk to us today. Some girls shared about Dr. Davis talk on Monday night....I missed it. It was about how the French eat and enjoy their food, but don't gain. They said he brought different wines and dark chocolate. So, girls, he approves a small glass of wine every night. I don't drink, but I might start. And chocolate......I am on it! Of course I think he told them dark chocolate twice a week. I just finished my evening walk. It was a little cooler tonight.....low 90's......lol. I guess we all agree on one thing......my SIL needs to get snipped. My DD was going to appeal to what matters to him.....the cost. Snipping is so much cheaper......maybe that will sell him on the idea. Well, gotta go shower ........later peeps!

Janet, sorry for the drama. As you know when they get in their thirties there is still drama. i think it goes with the parenting job. HUGS!!!!! Baby Alert! DD just called. Even though she is due Sept 13 she is dilated to 2 and her cervix is thinning. So, she may go eartly. I guess hauling around a 30lb two year old is pushing things along. I hope when I take care of my DGD nothing falls out of me. lol Would not be good. LauraK......I wanna know about the soft tuck. Sounds like something I would like to do. Give us the scoop after your consult. One Day, my DD talked to the dr about the Essure. She said they would put her to sleep to do it. She also said the best thing is for SIL to get a Vasectomy. YAY! I am all for that. Apples and Phyl......have a great visit! YUM! on the meal! Okay gang.....gotta go to nutrition class......CBL
-
Oh WOW! She is beautiful!
-
Oh Laura, so touching. Up until a few years ago my baby boy (36) would sit in my lap...... well sat on the side of my recliner. Of course I had to get grief from the other kids, but they aren't huggers and snugglers like he is. Is that from a book? I remember buying it for my sons when their sons were born. Be sure and take pics of him waiting for the bus. The older they get the more you cherish those moments. HUGS! for you and Nels!
-
Eva, I was beginning to wonder what happened to you. OMGoodness, so sorry your DH has shingles. Our youth pastor, 26 yrs old, had them and he was in so much pain. I hope he is better soon. I heard that that stuff can last for a few weeks. Oh Great, your experience is so me. I drank carbonated Water once since being banded and paid dearly for it. I still get stuck on chicken breast. It doesn't agree with me either.
-
Gwen.....thanks for the liquid protein info. Have a safe trip! Looking forward to some pics.

YAY! YAY! APPLES IS BACK TODAY! Please take care of yourself and don't overdo! We love you! Great, I know the weather thing is crazy. It started last fall. The sun was out this morning and felt like a hundred. Now, it is cloudy and I hear thunder. If we moved I would miss my grand kids too much. Never know what God has planned for us. Janet, you are a machine!!!!! Kurby, glad you are better. Get well soon! Joyce, I hope this rehab works for DD. Prayers for you! Laura......glad you are safely home! Julie.....have a good time with Phyl.....give her a HUG from us.
