I couldn't get on line last night again, but today everything is working fine. Yesterday, DH and I just loafed all day. I did do laundry and fixed a couple of meals, but that's about it. Today I got up and walked again 4.2 miles. It took me an hour and a half, but I don't care so much for the speed right now, I'm looking for the stamina. I still want to be up to 6 miles by the end of the month, but we'll see how that goes. Eva, wow! 4.2.....Awesome! The most I have done at one time is 2....so far. If you are getting ready to walk 6 miles in Vegas....leave me behind! If it is for Argentina.....good for you!!!!! Thanks! for the props, but we just did what we were supposed to do.......it was a God thing......although the devil gave us Hell a lot of the time. We feel blessed now, but we did question our decision while we were raising them. Lots of Drama!...... still drama, but it is not our responsibility now. Lori, I know you must be so hurt. Wait till they have kids......they will remember hurting you when they are dissed. My DS that moved in is serious with this new girlfriend. He told her if they were to marry his parents will not be treated second class this time around. When his ex and him came to town they had to drive right by our house on their way to her parents. Sometimes my ex DIL would drive up in the driveway for me to see my new GS......we called it a Drive by visit. Oh, now, since she is an ex....we are close, but there is no competition. I get to see my GS anytime. So girl, I know just how you feel and it hurts big time!!!! HUGS! HUGS! HUGS! Janet, forgot to tell you to have a great time this eve. Jodi, congrats on the commercial! Well, I crocheted 10 rows before I went cross-eyed. Gotta get back to it. HUGS! to all peeps on this thread. Happy Labor Day!

Hi gang! Well, I am somewhat recovered from yesterday I did not walk this morning before church, but I needed the rest. I will double up this evening. Several ladies commented on my size. They asked if I lost a lot more weight.....no.....just walked. I was hiding my stomach pretty good. Oh well,.....it made me feel good. Charlene Babies will come when they are ready to. Best to let nature take its course unless intervention is urgently needed. I never liked the idea of scheduled inductions unless they are necessary for the health of the mother and baby. Whatever your DD doctor says....then be patient it will happen as you know. Jodi, My daughter had complications last time. She was in labor eighteen hours....the epidural did not work....and she hemorrhaged and herniated a disk. So, this is a different doctor and hospital. She assured DD that she will do a c-section if she is not progressing after four hours of labor. My DD did have back surgery when Sydney was six weeks old. It was tough on her, and me too. I have a lot more confidence in this doctor and the hospital is a woman's hospital that specializes in difficult pregnancies. I do think it is good to let everything take it's course, but we just don't want a repeat of last time. Linda, a ventilator is when they can't breathe on their own. You were right. I had a friend on one for three months......not good. Then then she had to go to another hospital to wean her off of it. It sounds like your daughter is progressing . Sorry for the ordeal your DGD is having to go through. GM is the one missing out on her DGD. You will meet your GS one day. He is in a good place. I am sure his new parents are giving him the best life. HUGS and Prayers for you and family. Janet, you are right about this drug culture. That is reason I adopted my cousins. Their dad was and is and addict. I just don't know how he is still alive. He was one sorry A$$. He even sold my cousin's Methadone (used for pain) when she was dying of melanoma. I think he is addicted to Oxycontin now. My son(cousin) did go see him a couple of years ago......made him grateful that we gave him a good life. Okay, I have got to finish crocheting the baby blanket. I ran out of excuses! Have fun today! Oh, Julie, I heard that show was not too good. I very seldom go to the movies. I did go see Leonardo's latest. It was awesome, but you have to see it a few times to really "get it".

Hi gang! Whew......my three youngest grandkids have gone home. I enjoyed it, but i am tired. I did manage to finish sewing and embroidering burp diapers this morning. Oh, I did walk this morning.....going to do it again when the sun goes down. Linda.......so glad to hear that DSD is holding her own.....and Aylah is not fretting over her mother being gone. I will continue to pray. HUGS!!! Laura.......sounds like a great time with your parents.....and Nels.......so precious. Joyce....Yeah, it sounds like there is a lot in common among us. I am so thankful that our guru Janet started this thread or else we would not have met. Kierstyun......Just follow doctors instructions. They all have their own pre-op ....mine was 13 days of Protein Shakes and One day of Clear Liquids. One day....I am so glad I didn't have to pay for waxing. It was bad enough paying for three hair cuts every month. That doesn't count the girls. Gotta go walk........CBL!

Hey peeps......just checking in. DD and I went to breakfast.....had one scrambled egg and one Breakfast sausage link. Then off to Target and bought some last minute stuff for the baby and for my house. I guess we walked too long. DD started spotting and having pains. We called the doctor, but all pain and spotting stopped. The doctor said for her to be a couch potato this weekend and come in early Tuesday. She said if labor started up she would meet her at the hospital. I still haven't finished sewing. Linda, wow, you have been through it. I hope they find an antibiotic to work for her. Yes, sometimes you have to exercise "tough love". Your step son has to pull himself out of the ditch. Prayers for You and Family! Julie, I hope you have a pain free weekend. I was so proud of being able to get off the floor.....I did it again today. Girl, I bought the stuff for you toffee bar recipe. I have to wait till Jakob has time so we can practice. Joyce......Welcome to MacWorld! I am so glad my DH takes care of everything or I wouldn't be online right now. Jodi.......you sound busy for sure. Yep, stay out of the way of hurricanes.......voice of experience here. Our area is still rebuilding from Ike in 08. Lori, have a great weekend with the kiddos! Janet, enjoy the empty nest! I like it! Mine won't be empty tomorrow........three grandkids and DS is due home from San Fran, but he will be making a beeline for his girlfriend's home. I hope y'all have a great evening!

Good morning Laura K......right now it is going to be Sept. 7th if not before.

Hi gang! I went out walking this morning, but the lightning chased me home......it is pouring down now. Linda, I am so sorry for your step daughter. I will be praying for her and your family. Now, what is her name? I might have it wrong, but doesn't she have a chronic disease.....diabetes? Cheri, Awesome! on the Meet and Greet. No better way than to start the year with blessing the children. Love your prayer too! Janet, No, Andrew is not grown, but he thinks he is. So it is better for him to go help his mom with his siblings.....good grow up lesson. Eva, don't laugh, but I surprised myself. For years I have had to pull up on a chair or couch if I sat on the floor. The other day when I babysat Sydney I went to change her diaper. She would not get on the couch for me to change her. She laid on the floor. So, I got down on the floor and changed her.......I got up without holding on to a chair or the couch. I am stronger than I thought. Now for Sydney to get potty trained so I don't have to keep doing that. With the new baby coming potty training is on the "to do " list for DD. I will be doing breakfast today with DD......Omelet. Then to have pedi and run errands. Then I have to finish sewing for Bethany. I will check in tonight. Janet, FYI, I only had about 3oz of fajita meat and two spoons of refried Beans last night at the Mexican restaurant. I just have to eat meat at least once a week.

Well my family drama - Andrew has moved out - we had a tiff again last night about animals - told him he needed to go.. He called right now and said he's at his mom's that he moved out - wanted to know if if I was mad = said no that I think we need a break - he said oh so you are happy (yes I am but can't say that) I said not but need some time apart - we are fighting too much - but that he had to come home 10/1 to watch the dogs cuz I was going to Vegas - think I will ask gf to come too just in case.. But you want to know what - he cleaned the house and washed down the garage (animal's poop in there) .. Though that was kinda funny thing to do if you are moving out.. So I am a HAPPY empty nester for a while - we will see how long it last ... He's welcome home - but this thing about dogs has to quit.. Janet, I know what you are going through. When my adopted son turned 19 he still had a semester of high school left.....he graduated then quit his job and laid in his bed till about noon everyday. He started fighting with me until I told him one of us was going to get hurt. He moved out for about four months and came back just before he went into the service. Then when he got out of the service he came home. After awhile we started fighting again. He moved out. A few months ago he told me how sorry he was for arguing with me. He realized how PO'd he was at his mother for dying. We get along fine now. He is 37. Sometimes it just takes time to figure it out. You do need a break. Enjoy your concert and clubbing. I think Mary J Blige is an awesome singer. She is so beautiful. I'm not going anywhere.....babysitting and on babywatch too. I am going to get my toes done tomorrow with DD. We took her out for Mexican food tonight, and tomorrow I am taking her to Breakfast before the pedi.....anything to keep her happy. Hugs!!!

Well, Lori I guess you have a little Texan in you because people here call all "soda water" a coke. Our pigs in a blanket are little smokies wrapped in flaky biscuits. Janet, no baby. I went to DD's house this morning and mopped, vacuumed, cleaned refrigerator, and cleaned bathrooms. I can't believe I did all that after walking. Now, I have to get my floors done. Yeah, I have a cleaning lady, but I am sharing her with DD till October. DD is miserable. She doesn't think she will make it to Tuesday. That may be wishful thinking. Julie, so sad about Bailey. I hope they can get custody of her. If they could just talk her into temporary custody it would be good for her. HUGS and Prayers for them. Sorry gang! I have been gone all day and I have not read all the posts. I will try to do it this eve. I promise to check in when DD goes into labor. I will have Sydney so I will be here. Plus I will have two more grandkids on Saturday. Woohoo! Fun weekend! Oh, Eva, Janet's right......you can go to school online for just about anything now. Check it out.

Laura k, that is what I figured. My stomach muscles are mush. My friend that had PS in April got her tummy, boobs, and arms done at the same time. The tummy tuck was the most uncomfortable. They gave her about five drugs for pain, sleep, anxiety. Most of the real surgery pain was gone in a week. Her tummy was sore for weeks, but you go to all kinds of massage therapy so the scars heal smooth. Boy, her tummy is tight. The doctor really pulled the muscles up. She looks great. Her surgery for the tummy and boobs was about 17,000. You have a good price. I think the whole thing was about 26,000. Eva, yes, the walking really has made me feel better. According to the measurements I took I am smaller everywhere ,but my hanging stomach. It has gone down, but not like the rest. I don't worry about my arms. I don't wear sleeveless or even real short sleeve. Well, I got up at 4am. The weather is changing again......so says my body. I took Ibuprofen. I will get out and walk at 6am. That should take care of the pain. Okay, peeps.........Have a great day!

Hi gang! Just got back from nutrition class. No weight loss......I am on a long plateau. Not discouraged.....just makes me want to walk more. The lesson today was on "damage control". It was not what I was expecting. Our new weight loss director quit last Friday. I don't think she had the experience to handle such a big practice and she had been in cardiology before this gig. Anyway, two dietitians were hired to take over. I did buy some Optifast shakes to have on hand when I don't have time to cook. I will have my DGD next week. My DD is being induced next Tuesday if she doesn't go in to labor before the 7th. Apples, have fun this weekend! Laura K, I want to know all about your consultation and the soft tuck.
-
Apples, Congrats on the SRX. Oh, I sat in one......it is awesome! What color did you get? Janet, yep I have to go talk to the fitness people. We walk, but we need something more. Since we both have back problems Water aerobics is best. I would like a face lift too, but this gigantic tummy will be first. I could wear a smaller size pant if it was tucked. First, I have to lose 50 more lbs. Lori, I am so glad you and your daughter had such a good time. You will really get close during this pregnancy. I am so happy for y'all! Melissa, I hope you feel better today. Take care! Laura k, yep, Bethany will be here soon enough. I just talked to my DD. She took Sydney to Mommy's Day Out and had a meltdown.....started crying. Sydney was fine. I should have gone with her. She is one her way to the OB. I will know more this afternoon. Linda, I read your post about the hip thing. Listen to your dr. My DH is restricted from so many things weight related. It wears out the artificial joints. He has had his knees for almost ten years......well, one had to be replaced because it got loose. Back in the day my DH played soccer, rode 60 miles on his bicycle every saturday, and jogged. Now it is walking with me......what fun! lol Julie.....Mayo is coming up soon. We are all anxious for you to be well. I have been reading over the bar recipes. I just don't know which one to do first. What is your favorite. I have been making lemon bars for at least 25 years. It will be the Pecan Pie bar or the Dream bar. Okay, off to nutrition class. I think the psychologist is talking to us today. Yep, most of the problem is in my head.

I am just back from walking.....a nice cool day.....temp 82, humidity 82.....lol. There is a breeze. I think those storms in the Atlantic are causing a lot of humidity and breeze...oh and t-storms. DH and are going to LA Fitness and get a price on a membership. I wonder if you get a discount if you pay for a year in advance? We both want to take Water aerobics. I am going to weigh in tomorrow. I haven't lost a lb in a month. I keep going because I need the information and the support. Julie, I hope you have a good night's sleep. Welcome home Eva! Linda, sorry you have drama right now. It can be so stressful. I have a little with the DD that got dumped by her boyfriend. He is trying to come back for the sixth time......PLEASE!!!!! She finally woke up from that nightmare and told him NO! She is dating a Texas trooper right now so I don't think he will make trouble for her. My live in DS is in San Francisco for a week. He is crazy about this new girlfriend. I don't even see him when he is in town. Janet, is this exercise night? Lori, if you left town I missed it.......miss ya! Apples, what brand of purses do they sell at parties? I have never been to one. Laura, how did the job go? Goodnight Peeps!

Congratulations!

Welcome Susan!.......It's never too late to change your eating lifestyle. I was banded at 57.......wish I had done it years before, but I was in denial for sooooo long. Jump in and ask, vent, or comment.
-
I can't wait for us to make the cake. Did you see my post on the Cayenne Pepper chocolate Chip Cookies? They came out chewy, but the edges were not crispy. She said set the temp at 325. I ought to send you the recipe. I bet your boys would like it. Then you could tweak it. Jessica,......request a conference. Make sure your DH goes with you. It is a good thing to give him a good start in school. Joyce, Me too! I am thankful for all of you!

Kimaly......thanks for sharing! I was so mad back in February when the doctor would not give me xanax for anxiety until I saw a psychiatrist. I was PO'd. I had taken xanax for IBS for years. Anyway, I think I have shared this already....but when I went and got on Lexapro for my anxiety and panic attacks I didn't have to take Xanax anymore. So, now I take Savella for the Fibro and Lexapro to counter the anxiety and panic attacks( caused from the SAvella). I have come to realize that my obesity was from trying to insulate myself from the things that caused anxiety. As we peel the layers back off we have to deal with the anxiety head on. I am just now learning all this and I am pushing 60......I guess better late than never.

Hi gang! I just got back from babysitting my two year old DGD. My DD had an ultrasound this morning. The doctor said Bethany was "star gazing" .......she is facing up. He said if DD waits to be induced next week it will be a good thing because she needs to turn.....makes for an easier labor. So, my DD is more at peace about waiting. Bethany weighs about 7.5lbs now. Apples, is DS serious with GF? Yep, grandkids no matter what age bring lots of blessings to a family. Janet, I bought another cream. It is Walgreens brand of a line filler. I love the Provectin. My face is starting to feel like a baby's butt.......is that good???? I started putting it on tops of my hands and forearms. They have one especially for hands. I haven't bought that one yet. Oh, QVC's special today is 400ct Liz Claiborne sheets for 59.95....any size. I wish I could buy them We have an adjustable bed and have to order custom sheets. Apples.......Junk Away!!! I plan on making the cherry nut cake this week to see if Jakob wants to do it for the fair. I pick him up from school on Friday. We may make it then. Julie sent me some awesome bar cookie recipes. Lori, Where are you!!! Joyce, you will like the MAC. I have one......well, I use what DH sets me up for, but I have enjoyed it.
-
It was probably a combination of things......take care!!! Steroids can cause crazy side effects.
-
No baby........maybe she is too big???? lol DD has an ultrasound tomorrow and a dr visit on Wed. Maybe she will induce her. I finally finished sewing trim around burp diapers.....now to embroider them. I still haven't finished crocheting the blanket. Lori, I wasn't dragging my feet with the first DGD......I made a blanket, burp diapers, crocheted dress, booties, and two caps. Bethany sure got shorted being the last one. Julie, I got the recipes......Thanks! The chocolate Cookies I made with Cayenne pepper were good. I think I need to adjust my temp on my stove. They were chewy, but the edges weren't crisp. The recipe called for a 325. I think that is too low. And yes, I did eat a few.....no, didn't gain or lose. Phyl, that is the pic I love! Laura, Best wishes on the volunteering. A friend of mine quit her job doing high risk pregnancy ultrasounds and started volunteering at the Crisis Pregnancy center. She loves it. She does ultrasounds for girls who are in crisis. Janet, I know your GS will find his place in this world. He has you as his cheerleader. Look what you have done for all of us. That is your calling.....the gift of lifting people up, and sometimes lighting a fire under them. Laura, Glad you had a good time celebrating your birthday. Meredith......Happy Birthday! You look great! Check in! We would like to hear from you. Okay Apples, time to show up! Cheri, How is your neice? Jessica, I am so sorry your son is having bowel problems. Maybe you can find the right routine and diet so he won't have an accident at school. Linda, don't work too hard this week. Eva, did you leave again?
-
Vent and complain.......that is why we are here.....to support you! I think a garage sale is great. Also start volunteering at a hospital or school. You will hear of jobs and also working without pay is so gratifying not to mention you will have an IN on any new job and already be acquainted with new people and contacts.......networking! That is how most people get hired.....they know other people. HUGS and PRAYERS for YOU!
-
Janet, I don't know if your Andrew is in good health, but the military really grows them up. Two of mine went in at the same time......yes I worried and prayed for them, but in six weeks.......talk about boot camp.....they had a whole new respect for everything...especially parents. They have lots of good memories and stories about the military, and made friends with people all over the states. For them.....it was the right decision. Judy, I agree about the PS. I want to get my tummy done when I lose another 50lbs. I would love to get rid of my turkey neck. Right now I am considering going to get a consult on injection fillers for the lines around my mouth. My family dr has a medical spa. I forgot the name of the stuff they use for fillers, but she doesn't have any lines around her mouth. I am just thinking about it now. No baby yet! I guess she is holding out till everyone is busy. Hugs! for everyone today!!
-
Eva, you must have messaged at the same time. Yes, I think these white BOATS will do the job. I hate having such big feet, but they haven't failed me yet......well, had I not lost weight I am sure my feet problems would have been much worse. Four miles......awesome!
-
Hey peeps, just checking in. My DGS had his first football game today. Those nine year olds look so grown up in their uniforms. He only weighs 68lbs, but is almost the tallest kid on his team. Now, baseball tomorrow. Our Pearland boys lost big time today in the World Series. Hawaii just outplayed them. Hawaii and Japan play tomorrow for the title. Go USA!!! Janet, you are one Hot Chick in your work out clothes. Wow! what a transformation. Phyl, I love the pic of you and DH......and the baby....she is a doll. Of course the Newlyweds are gorgeous too! No baby yet. She will be here soon enough. Oh, I think my routine will change for a bit. I am trying to figure out how I can walk with a two year old. I think I will only be able to walk once a day for a few days. Melissa, glad you are sweating out that nasty infection. Drink plenty of liquids. Cheri.....prayers for your niece and family! We are doing a series on prayer at church. I will list you in my journal. Linda, I am so glad Merry is doing so well. You sure do exercise a lot. You and Janet are gonna dry up and blow away! Oh, I know about those off the wagon moments. Like today, I made that new chocolate chip recipe with red pepper. Of course I ate one....well more than one. Gonna shake it tomorrow. I was so bloated today . Mairemarc....Welcome! WooHoo! Texans 23, Cowboys 7.....only two minutes left in the 4th quarter. Can you tell I am NOT a Cowboy fan. Goodnight gang!
-
Charlene, any baby yet? Will be hoping for a quick and painless delivery for your DD and a healthy mamma and baby!! I can't remember - is it a girl or boy or don't you know? Linda, no baby yet. Her name will be Bethany. We put all her clothes in the drawers today. OMgoodness, I can't believe all the gowns and onesies her big sister had. Some of them were never worn. My DD had a little meltdown today....said she doesn't know how she is going to handle two kids. Young mom's these days have so much information I think it causes more anxiety. She will be fine. I am glad we live close to each other. I hope she goes into labor tomorrow or Sunday. Well, I got my NB's today. Talk about a toe box! If anyone has trouble finding shoes with a large toe box.......NB 811's are for you. Mind you.....they are not trendy...in fact they are kinda like nursing shoes, but OHHHHH!.......they feel so good on my feet. I have "Happy Feet" !!! Later Peeps!!!!
-
Hi gang! I know this is lazy, but ditto on everything Julie said. Julie, you may bed hurtin......but it doesn't effect your memory. You definitely don't have CRS. Thanks so much for the recipes. Jakob is coming tonight so we might have to practice. Between your bar recipes, Apples's cake recipe, and my cookie recipes we will come up with a blue ribbon entry. Jakob loves to cook. We made fudge a few weeks ago. He did it himself. I just had to tell him what and when. Laura, I don't know one person that doesn't clean before the cleaners come to clean. My DH says that is crazy, but I straighten so they can concentrate on the stuff like floors, furniture, and yes, fans that are too high. No baby yet, We are going to meet DGD's Mommy's Day Out teacher. The doctor is out today. She told Kelly not to go into labor until after today. lol Okay peeps, Have a great weekend! I will be checking in!
