What is the 5 day book? Hey, gang........where are you? I went to water aerobics twice this week, walked twice, and weight training one day. I was supposed to go tonight, but after water aerobics....I am pooped. I want to go to water aerobics 3 times a week and weight training 2 times. As far as weight goes......I think I gained last week, but I have dialed back my carbs this week. I need to weigh once a week. Going to nutrition classes kept me accountable. I may have to adjust my schedule and go back. Dr. Davis is speaking Monday night. He is going to teach us how to make a healthy pizza. I will share with y'all on Tuesday. OKay, peeps........check in this weekend!!! Be accountable!!!

Kasiaya, Surgery is scary for most people. For me, this was one of my least scary surgeries. I am 2yr and 3mos out from my surgery. I have lost half way to my goal. With the help of these people on this thread I keep pushing forward to the goal. You need support. Keep seeking support on this site plus go to the support groups your surgeon offers. Who is doing your surgery? i live south of Houston and Dr. Garth Davis is my surgeon at Memorial Herman. As far as you husband goes......explain to him you will be changing your way of eating. This is a lifestyle change. Eating the stuff that put your weight on will not work. The band is a tool.......one of many in your lifestyle tool box. Exercise, journaling, support, and positve thinking are some other tools you will need to use. Please continue to ask questions. It may ease your anxiety. HUGS!

Aloha!!!! If you don't have a good time in Hawaii.....you won't have a good time anywhere. I hope DD gets her flight. Want to see pics! Good morning gang! I just fixed a eggwhite/oatmeal pancake.......boy, it is filling. I can only eat half of it. This time I made it with 1/4c eggwhite, 1/4c quick oats, 1 Tablespoon Splenda brown sugar. It was yummy, but I am miserable after eating . I am off to Water aerobics in about an hour. Then tonight we have weight training. Kim, when I started exercising six months ago I bought a pedometer. My first goal was 6,000 steps. Before I knew it I was doing 10,000 steps. I did wear it all day( walking and daily activity). Try it. You will be wanting to do more. Linda, I am so sorry your Katie is not doing well. I thought she was doing better. HUGS! Julie, sounds like you have plenty of ammunition to fight the pain. Don't forget to rest. Janet, I am glad to see you and Andrew working together on his future. We had helped our kids with apartments when they were in school. It sounds like he wants to be responsible. He loves you dearly. I don't think he wants to disappoint you. Jodi, thanks for the info on dog training. Charlie responds to treats, but we cannot get him to stop barking at anyone who leaves the house. Are you sure???? Don't tell my DH......I'm glad he doesn't watch the Doctors. lol Well, I had to make your cake again. There is a lady in town with stage 4 breast cancer. They are having a benefit and auction for her starting tomorrow. She has small children. I also made one for Jakob because he did not get to taste it. My ex DIL loved it. Congrats on buying skinny jeans. Yeah, I bet a long belted blouse or sweater will look great on you. Janet.....thanks for posting the Home Journal tips. I agree will all of them. Yep, you are in starvation mode when it is only 600. Protein shakes have over 20 protein, and just a few carbs-fats. I would think you need at least 1000-1500c to stay in a safe range. You also need to eat about 5-6 times a day. Plan some extra Snacks. Okay, that is my two cents. Janet, Thanks! I needed that. I was stiff this morning, but not aching. I had a little pain down my leg. I probably used too much weight on the leg presses. My back is still weak, but getting much better. I walked this morning. My pup was happy! Now, for Breakfast. I am making a eggwhite/oatmeal pancake with sf jam. Lunch-chiccken salad- No crackers! snack-protein shake with fruit. Dinner- finish up chicken salad 100 cal popcorn Oh, I started drinking 3oz of red wine with Resveratrol juice( taste like grape juice) It is my new laxative. Hey, whatever works. Right?

Apples, I don't think my trainer knows about FM. I mentioned it, but he seemed kinda clueless, but he said only do what I can. He has realized DH and I have health issues so he doesn't want us to hurt ourselves. I am still going to Water aerobics on Friday and maybe Saturday. I will walk in the morning. Pup is missing his walk everyday. He is getting his little roll around his collar again........so I better give him a workout. Janet!!! What up???? Jodi......sounds like a stressful week. You probably walk a lot. Put on a pedometer and make sure you walk 10,000 steps a day. That will keep the weight down. Take Care!

I am back from the gym. I told the trainer about having to take Tylenol for three days. He said that the squats with weights was too direct on the muscles so he had me do machines. Oh.....much better! I didn't do Water aerobics because DH did not want to stay that long.....I just biked. Apples, Wow, 3 hours in the chair.....HUGS!!! You sure have pretty teeth. I like therapy too. My Wednesday class was mainly group therapy for weight loss. I went to therapy in my thirties when we adopted my two cousins. It was really helpful. Moonlite, you need to see your surgeon to make sure your band has not slipped or you are not too tight. Are you eating too fast?

Phyl, left side......tingling......hope is is not a L4 herniated disk. I got epidural shots for mine and it worked. I would try to not go to the chiropractor until the ortho checks it out. Go get a massage! Oh, my sinus surgery. My FIL had that.....it looked so painful. His was polyps. It looked like they had laid his face open and scraped. I hope his problem is different. Janet, do I have to call? Apples, did you go to the dentist? LInda what's up? Julie, I hope you have a pain free night. I know I won't. That trainer will work me over. I will be on Tylenol for three days. The positive is I am getting stronger.

Hey gang, I just got back from my mother's place. We had a nice lunch of chicken salad and tea. I bought her a dozen Ice Roses, and my daughter set up her new phone. It is going to be so much easier to just say people's names and the phone auto dials the number. I have a session with the trainer tonight and i will try to stay for Water aerobics. Right now I have a headache from the front moving in. Lots of pollen flying around today. Lori....I think we all have those days. It is okay, you earned them........the Hawaiian sun will cure it! Apples, my niece is having a stint put in tomorrow. She will have her stone crushed when they can get her scheduled. That machine must really be booked. I think she said may be two weeks before she can get it busted up Synd.....I wasn't into having a dog until the kids were gone. My pup is like my kid except he loves me unconditionally. He loves walking with me in the morning. That is really why I got a dog......so I would get out and exercise. Joyce.......thanks for the props. I haven't been too good since Vegas. I act like I am on a food vacation. It is weird. Maybe it is because I am not going to weight management on Wednesdays. I am working on it. Lori, it was not easy baking. I am really glad it is over. It is like being a alcoholic and a bartender at the same time. Enjoy your nuggets. You know while you were gone I bought nuggets and they had sand or dirt in them. My teeth still feel gritty. YUCK! I won't be eating nuggets from McD's for quite awhile. Are you going to the McDonald's across from Waikiki? We stayed at the Hilton a couple of blocks from there. I wish I could fly to Hawaii at least every six months. Enjoy!! LauraK, I would eventually like to take yoga. You should have seen Janet and Joyce doing their yoga moves. They are quite limber. Okay peeps.......going to my mother's tomorrow. My DH bought her a new cell phone with voice recognition and larger numbers because of her low vision. I am taking DD with me because she will have to be my techie and program the phone. I know I could do it, but why?.....I have all these people that can do it so much faster.

Well, our cool front is moving in tonight. My stomach knew that yesterday. I really think the Water aerobics is helping with the IBS. I am not hurting near as bad this year. Dr Davis said that I could stretch the adhesions with exercise. Speaking of my doctor ....he is speaking at the support group on Monday night. He is going to teach us how to make a healthy pizza. I think his wife is going to help him. I am going. I will get the recipe for us.

Good afternoon! Well, not so good.....fell off the wagon. I had cheetos here for Jakob.....ate some. They are gone. Apples, I am going to boil me some eggs this eve for Snacks. Then I am making my mother chicken salad for tomorrow. Oh, my poor niece, she was released from the hospital this past weekend and still has not passed her kidney stone. She is in so much pain. My DS is taking care of the baby. Her breast milk is no good because of the pain meds. The baby doesn't like the formula, but too bad.....mother's milk is bad. Please pray she passes that stone. Julie, wow, I had to do all of that, but it was twenty years ago. I don't think I could do all the wedding stuff now. Good thing my kids like running off to marry. I like doing weddings in Vegas. I will be praying for your health during this stressful time. I know her wedding will be beautiful and the food will be yummy. Lori, Okay, I am jealous! Is that two or three Hawaiian trips in the last year? Really, have fun! And eat a ono, ono shave ice for me. Tx, I know, pre op diets suck. The beginning is tough, but as you make it a lifestyle it will get better. Keep a low carb dressing in your truck so you can carry it in to the fast food places. I like Burger Kings salad with grilled chicken. Everything is separated so you can keep the cheese off. I think the salad is 12 carbs. if you have an iphone get the livestrong app. You can track your carbs. In fact there are a lot of apps to track your food and exercise. It is a big help to journal.

Good Morning Peeps! I am still tired, but I did get more sleep last night. I had coffee and watermelon for breakfast....then I walked. I just got back from seeing my DGDs and helping my DD straighten up her house....company is coming to see the baby. My DGDs had their pictures made yesterday. Go to my profile on FB to see them. I will check in later. Not sure about my food today. I know I am making chicken salad for my mother tomorrow so I may have to have half a cup. It is the chicken, grapes, celery, and pecan salad with Smart Balane mayo. Oh, and a good dose of pepper.

Okay, peeps, I am home. I don't think we will know the results of Jakob's baking until Friday......the first day of the Fair. He shows his steer on Sunday evening. I did not eat chicken this eve. I ate a leftover ribs(two babyback). It is too late to eat. I may still make a shake. i am so tired from Water aerobics. It is a good tired. I am hoping to sleep better tonight. I am waking up at 3am again. I am not worried about anything. I was so sleepy yesterday. My pup got sick early Sunday morning about 2am......threw up on our blanket....got up and cleaned up. Then he threw up at 3am on our quilt....cleaned that up. Then he went under the covers and threw up on my DH's feet at 5am....lol. He stripped the bed and went to the couch. I went to the other couch. It was a rough night, but Charlie is fine now. Yes, I gave him people food and it made him sick. Lesson learned. Anyway, we are still trying to get back those hours we lost. Okay, going to bed......sweet dreams to all!

Some of us have that problem. If I eat too fast and don't wait for that first burp......yep, I get that stuck feeling. Try a smaller bite........and slow down. Are you journaling your food intake? You may be eating too much. I plateaued for months then I started moving, journaling my food, drinking more water, and I did go on shakes for three months(medically supervised). I have lost another 34 lbs. I want to lose 50lbs more.. Don't give up!!!! You are on a journey, not a diet.

Water Aerobics- 1 Hour Protein bar 170 calories 4oz baked chicken 100 calorie snack dinner- salad with baked chicken protein shake w/fruit evening snack Don't know the calorie count yet. I am going to lifegroup this eve( bible study). I plan to walk on tuesday, thursday, and saturdays. Water Aerobics on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning. Weight training on Wed and Fri eve. All the dietitians say I have to mix it up.....so I gotta give it a try. I think I have gained. i went off plan until today. Too much eating out. Dialing it back in. I only will eat out once this week. DH and I eat mexican food once a week.....usually fajitas. Julie.......HUGS!!! on the pain issues. You need to quit lifting babies and toddlers!!! My back usually hurts when I lift my DGD. Maybe if you will journal your activity you might find out what is setting your pain off. I know you can't do anything before the wedding, but it is worth a try. Joyce- Thanks! When you are ready.....you will do it. I went out to eat with my friend that had bypass last March. She is in a size 10. She is tall. She is having issues eating enough food. She is just not hungry. Wish I could share my hunger. OKay gang! will CBL! HUGS!!!

I love watching his show, but I have not read his book. I think he is right on techniques to train dogs that have problems. I did buy his spray for accidents in the house. It has a wonderful lemon smell. I think I will try to get his book. My pup has issues too. We have never been able to stop him from barking when anyone leaves the house. I think we haven't been consistent on his training. So it is more a owner problem than a dog issue. Okay gang, getting ready for Water aerobics. I had two cups of coffee with Pro Joe for cream......then a Protein Bar for Breakfast. Plan on a Protein shake with fruit when I get home. I think I will eat a green salad and tuna for lunch. Check in later!! Tx.....a lot of us had what is called the "last supper syndrome." We ate our favorite food right up till we started shakes. I'm glad you got it out of your system. Now, you are ready for shakes.

Cheri......thanks for sharing your life with us. You are such a bubbly person. I just loved watching you dance. Apples....I hear ya on trying to make things normal. Living with an alcoholic made things predictably chaotic. I promised myself that my kids would have a sense of normalcy, but I didn't know what normal was other than" Leave it to Beaver". You know that wasn't real, but that is what I thought was real. Oh well, all in all, my kids turned out pretty good......except for inheriting my bad eating habits. Janet.......Whoa Hass! Don't get on my A$$ today. I didn't eat right today or exercise. Tomorrow......then you can stay on me. Water aerobics in the morning. I am sitting my GS too. We should find out tomorrow if he placed in the baking. Laura.....glad you got to hear from DH. I bet he is having a wonderful time. Post a pic if you can. Melissa......you are a beautiful woman. Take it from us old farts......we all wish we had lap band ten years earlier. You have an awesome opportunity to turn it all around before you are forty.......baby steps......one day at a time!!!

Cheri.......Awesome advice! I think I am ADD. I don't want to say I am ADHD because I am anything , but hyper. You have to take the baby steps first. My steps in exercise was walking......now water aerobics, walking, and weights. I agree about getting a handle on the attention deficit before weight loss. There is a fairly new book out on that subject. I saw the doctor on TV. Do you take medicine for ADHD? I know my sister is ADHD. She is a hoarder. Not quite as bad as the tv show, but if she doesn't get some help soon I fear she is heading in that direction. It doesn't help that her son and husband have attention deficit too. They never put anything away, so she spends her day picking up after them. By the time she finishes she is too tired to work on the two rooms that houses all her stuff. You cannot walk in them. She promised me that after she got back from her back to back cruises she would get help. I think they cruise so they won't have to deal with their chaotic home. Oh well, I gotta work on my on issue......obesity, and the real reason I got this way.
