It was when my mom visited and had so much knee pain that she couldn't stay in my 3-story house and had to get a hotel room. And when, a month later, I started noticing knee pain every morning and realized I had seen my likely future. My mom hasn't walked pain-free since she was in her 30s. Have my first appointment with the surgeon next week and am wondering what questions I need to be asking. I've read a ton of stuff and am generally informed, but what do I need to know about/from my specific surgeon? I know his bio (years in the biz, # of surgeries per year, board certs, etc.). Thank you so much for posting this story. It's the first one I've read on this app, and it's just the one I needed and one that's hard to find elsewhere. I'm a healthy fat person...I even like how I look (mostly). But I know I could be more..."myself". Surgery seems so extreme when I don't have other health issues, so I've been really unsure.
