Hi! I am kind of panicking. Tomorrow marks one week before my surgery and of course right when they told me I can't get sick, I felt a sore throat coming on. My tonsils are very inflamed, red, and puss-y. It's definitely not strep (negative strep test) and I get this a lot- I always take a Z pack and it's better and completely gone within a few days. I am so afraid to tell my surgeon and have my surgery cancelled because I already took off from work and wouldn't be able to reschedule until October. I know my throat will be better before my surgery, but will taking the Z pack for the next 4 days affect my surgery at all (azithromycin)?? Will azithromycin have any affect on my body that would negatively affect my surgery? They told me to not take Advil for a week before surgery so it doesn't thin out my blood. So something like that I'm asking. Thank you for your help!!!!
