Keep the chin up. Do me a favor. Next time you are shopping at the grocery, go to the dog food aisle and pick up 2 15 pound bags of dog food and carry those with you through the store. I bet after 5 minutes your arms will hurt. Then sit back and smile as you have lost an incredible amount of weight. It did not all go on at the same time and it is not coming off in 90 days. You are a success!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app

Take a deep breath. Most people gain weight in the hospital because of all the fluids. Your body is healing, the stomach us in chaos. You will be fine. Give it a week. And by the way God loves you as he does all of us on this journey. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app

Bravo!!!! Any rant that ends with the word succubus is down right awesome. We middle managers go through this often. Hang in there. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app

My wife has Rheumatoid arthritis. She treats it with a special diet, ( no red meats, gluten free caffeine free and has drastically reduced her dairy intake). Her sleeve surgery was Aug 11, 2016 and she has lost 25 pounds prior to surgery and another 50 since the surgery. She has had less flair ups since losing the weight. A few days after Christmas we did a day IN NY. Throughout the day we walked over 7.5 miles. Contrast that to 4 years ago when she walked 3 blocks and we had to hail a taxi from then on. Yes, it has helped. She has her first flair up in a long while now, but I can't remember when the last one was. Good luck to you. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using the BariatricPal App -

Happy new year to all. It was about this time last year when I went to my primary doctor to get my prescription filled for blood pressure medication. I weighed in at 321 pounds. I was borderline diabetic and not sleeping well. About the same time, my bride of 9 to years also was contemplating WLS, so in March I saw an add for bariatric surgery at our local hospital. We attended the seminar and my bride was all in that night, me...m ah not so much . It took me another 2 weeks to commit. In the end, I did not want to sabotage her success if I kept eating the way I was, and her having this whole new lifestyle. She motivated me to get on the program. We started pre classes in May and started eating right away, small plates, walking, eating slowly etc. We both lost 25 lbs prior to surgery August 11th. I went first and she followed up 2 hours after I was done. Our journey has been one of the most rewarding things we have ever done. To this point she has lost 75 lbs and I have lost 80 from my starting weight at 308. No longer on blood pressure meds, sugar levels are fine, and the sex is amazing for both of us. LOL. Wednesday we went to NYC and walked over 7 miles without blinking an eye. We plan on being around for a long time to drive our adult kids crazy and see our grand children grow up. Happy new year all. That is awesome. I remember reading an article about a gentleman who was quite overweight and wanted to go on a 10 day hike with his sons boy scout troop. He got in shape by walking with a back pack and each week he would carry what he lost. He dropped like 90 pounds. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using the BariatricPal App

39 Months Post-Op...First Big, Fat, Nosedive off the Wagon, Binge...also Possible just Flunked out of Law School

Hello all. I apologize if my comment find a man was taken the wrong way. I have received some good counseling from my bride on how that comment could have been taken out of context. My context was in a pure physical sense, keeping with the theme of chilling out and relaxing. We all cope with things differently. As you are a type A+, I am somewhere between a type Q and R, and maybe I need some of that type A drive every now and then. Hang in there and try not to stress so much. I lost a wife to cancer when she was 36 and I was 38. I know what pressure is with 2 kids at the time at 13 and 15. We had some stressful days, but I always figured some how we would get by. Kids both graduated college and I was lucky enough to find love a second time as my bride and I will Celebrate our 10 th anniversary in March. Hang in there. Again, the find a man line was not meant to be derogatory. Peace. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and happy new year. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using the BariatricPal App -

So you got an F. So what? Give yourself a break. Goto bed tonight and thank whatever God you worship for the gift of life, for the chance to do the things you have done, be grateful for living in a country where you have the opportunity to do the things you do. An F is not the end of thr world, and guess what no one cares as they are too busy. Put it in perspective and try not to be so hard on yourself. Take one course or 2 courses a semester. Laugh, drink some wine, find a man, and kick back. Life is too short to be so stressed. Go to bed and sleep for 10 hours. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using the BariatricPal App -
