I'm sixteen months out, and drink when I feel like it, and not when I don't. I've lost 120 lbs despite having a drink fairly frequently, i.e. about once or twice a week on average, although I do go weeks without drinking. Just be aware that you are more susceptible to alcohol than you were before. I had one terrible episode where I went to a party, didn't realize how much I was drinking, blacked out, couldn't remember what had happened in the morning, luckily had a friend to take me home, and woke up covered in bruises from falling down -- something that has never happened to me before in my 57 years! So embarrassing and worrying. So watch your intake carefully. Best to all.

Westchester/NYC New York Sleevers

Hi -- I'm from Manhattan, and had the sleeve at NYU on 4/17/2015. I remember feeling awful, weak and nauseated, for two days after the surgery, although not much pain. The two weeks after surgery were the worst, as I was so sick of those liquids. After that, it got steadily better, and now I can eat pretty much anything I want, although in smaller quantities than before. And my food tastes have definitely changed. Remember you must take your vitamin supplements, especially D and B6 and B12, as I became very low in those after a year. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Best to all. -

Hi all -- I live in Manhattan. I had the sleeve on April 17, 2015 at NYU. I have since lost 120 lbs. If you have questions about post-sleeve issues, I'd be happy to answer, although It's been pretty smooth for me. DO REMEMBER to take your Vitamin D and vitamin B supplements, especially Vitamin D and B6 and B12, as I became very low in those after about a year. Good luck to you all!

I agree it's time to shut down this thread if we've now gotten into Hillary v. Trump. We get quite enough of that elsewhere. And the person who started this thread is not even in the U.S. -

I wish I'd known more about the loose skin after weight loss. Not that it would have changed my mind; I would definitely still have had the sleeve, but I wish I'd been a bit more prepared. You can research this on the Internet. -

Hello Gina -- I am so sorry that you regret your surgery so much. I am in no way trying to undervalue that, so please don't take this that way. I just wanted to let you know that I am now 16 months out from having the sleeve, and I had terrible diarrhea for months afterwards, but no longer do. I can also now eat pretty much whatever I feel like, so long as it's a small portion. I've lost 125 lbs. I do hope things improve for you.
