Sunshine Thanks for the hiatal hernia update. When I had my swallow test a month ago it showed that my band was very close to the esophogus. I guess we all have to be aware and just keep this in mind. Sula, Hope the Prilosec continues to help. Wow, you've really come down in breast size. Maybe you should base your decsion on how much pain you are in and if you can take it until you lose more weight. How long did it take you from the 44DDD to the 40 DD? But I think you're thinking rationally in weighing your options. Remember you have time on your side to make this decision.

Just wanted to check in It's going to be 10-12 inches of snow here. UUG although it is pretty. Fitting into some XL's . Most still tight. But went from a 26 to size 14, but need to get in XL so I can buy in regular sizes what i want . Just bought some cheap sweaters at Fashion Bug. They are having a great sale. I've been wearing big swaters all winter long, and I really didn't want to have to buy anything thinking next winter, will be a new size. But the sales are so great at FB ($6-8) I decided to go for it. Wore 2 of the sweater and feel better in the right fitting size. Well that's it for now.

Band too tight? -OR- Eating too fast?
Bandana replied to nothingcomesez's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Talk about messing with your head, I was able to eat dinner last night. It felt so good to get food down and keep it down. I was so happy. To be able to taste and eat food was like a gift. Talk about loving and fearing food at the same time, I'm right there with you. And, I was also able to control myself from nightime eating (when the band is looser). FYI, I went onto this other site last night, and it was about using a warming plate to keep food warm until you're able to eat it all. Got to get me one of those. For anyone interested the site is Keep Warm Dish - ElderStore. -
How many calories a day do you eat?
Bandana replied to Sammysue78's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi Everyone - Thanks for the posts. First time on this thread. I really found that when I was at a plateau it was because I wasn't eating enough. It's hard to eat enough though when you are too restricted. Things go up and down for me. Sometimes I could eat, other times not - so I sway back and forth with getting an unfil. Still need to increase the exercise. Hey Bam Bam - How are you doing? I -
food gets cold while eating slow

Band too tight? -OR- Eating too fast?
Bandana replied to nothingcomesez's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am so glad I found this site. It is what I've been looking for. I could quote all of you. I'm doing the same things. I've had my band for 13 months and I'm still having these problems. One would think I would learn. But I'm always fearful of not losing weight if I get an unfil. I can't wait to hear how you girls did with the unfils because I'm thinking of getting one next Friday when I see the doctor. Thank you all for your posts. It's really good to find this thread and to know that you're not alone. -
Sula Congrats on the Birthday and the Car. Enjoy both. I had a swallow test 3 weeks ago to see if the restriction in my band had done any damage to my esophogus from throwing up and thankfully there was none. He said if the band was too tight my esophogus was be enlarged. What exactly is a hiatal hernia. Now I'm self-diagnosisng. I think I'm getting an ulcer from the acid that comes up when I throw up. What do you think about that one?

POLL - Whats your sweet spot in 10cc band?
Bandana replied to bunnykin4u's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Bikini Beach I wish I coulod eat that much. I can only have a couple of bites before the good old restriction comes and takes over. I can't seem to find the elusive sweet spot. But it sound to me like your eating the small portions were supposed to. And as I understand it, you're too tight when the water starts coming up on you at night and when you can't swallow your own saliva. I have to drink slower also Little Miss Diva How are you making out with your unfil? Hope its all good. -

Too much regurgitation. But I'll take it any way it comes. But I will see the doctor next week to discuss too much resteriction. It's over a year after my surgery and I'm still trying to get to that sweet spot.

Hi Girls Hey Suzanne Glad to hear the HB and PB's are gone. Did you actually get .1 cc taken out or was it 1.0 cc's. I actually ask this because I'm trying to get my doctor to take out .12 cc's, but he says it's impossible to do. But I feel like I need to be inbetween 0 and .25 to get to my sweet spot because I've done .25, .50 and 1cc over and over and can never get to the right spot. Red Tulip Thanks so much but I think I'm useless at this. I was able to save the slogan to my computer, but then I can't find it to open it up when I'm in the signature edit part. go figure. But on a brighter note, I lost 2lbs this week.
-
Harley Thanks for the tips on mindful eating and congrats on the picture moment. It must have felt great to finally see how far you've come. Fenton I really like the idea about the weekly exercise group and maybe the claw could get us if we don't exercise. LOL
-
Red Tulips I have not been able to get the slogan on my post, but I did go into signature and was able to at least get my band date and some info on it. Thanks for the info about the 5K. I was wondering how Suzanne is doing with her unfil and how much was taken out. I'm thinking of an unfil now.

Available Lap Band Buddy / Mentor I'm here to help
Bandana replied to mumof2boys's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Tina Thanks I could really use support. I was banded 1/28/08 and am still dealing with eating slow and chewing slow. It's such a battle and right now I haven't been able to eat for 2 days. I don't know why the band got so tight. The upside is I lost 2lbbs so I'm not sure if I should get the unfil I was considering. -

Valentine's Day Weight Loss Challenge
Bandana replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I did it. Lost 5lbs at goal just in time. Finally got off those few extra pounds. Don't think I should go on the scale daily, it fluctuates too much. -
No change, but no gain. Next week

Know the struggle with the exervcise. I'm bad. Hope DH's surgery goes fine. I was just in Atlantic City and won some money, bought myself a pocketbook.

Weigh in... how much have u lost?
Bandana replied to Southern Missy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
good work brenda -
I finally won some money in Atlantic City, Played the penny slots and some craps. Had a great time but you won't believe this - I went to a buffet and was able to eat. It was about 8pm when the bewitching hour starts. I can eat more at dinner time. I'll tell you, if I didn't have this band would go right back to my slobbering eating, stuffing my face habits. Suzanne Good luck with WW and the unfill. What does 5K stand for?

Hi you fabulous forties girls How are you today? Anne I don't think I'm eating too many eggs or cheese. I happened to see my doctor today and he said that some of us just make it naturally from our genes and then went on to tell me how i really have a history of high cholestoral. So it doesn't seem that losing weight helps for me or eating certain foods. Waiting to go on cholestoral meds because I'm feeling tired alot and doctor said could be from low blood pressure, so he took me off my bp meds today. we'll see if that helps before I add another med to all my other meds. Really thought I would have more energy when I lost weight. But we'll see. Have to exercise more

I bought the greek yogurt today. Tastes a bit like ricotta cheese to me. Hard to eat alone. Any suggestions on what tastes good in this yogurt. Thanks Harley I really like the chart you put up. I;m finding it so hard to reach the sweet spot. At the past 2 doctor visits I've asked them to tweak my band. I feel I need an amount inbetween .25 and 0, like .10 and they keep sayiing they can't do it. I feel so up against a wall because I know I'm too restricted but if they take out the whole .25 I'm too loose. Very frustrated about this. Thinking maybe another practice of doctors can help.
