April I know exactly what you're going through and I chalk it up to not having restriction. I eat too much of the wrong things also. I stopped losing weight once I introducted food back into my diet. I had a good day today after gaining back 4 lbs from my liquid diet. I had no choice if I didn't want to gain my weight back. So just hang in there. I find that when I focus on having protein, either liquid or food that helps alleviate the cravings for carbs. I dread exercising and it takes me hours till I force myself onthe treadmill. So I am at the same point as you and know exactly what you're talking about. Let's all try to stay focused on why we got the band.

I feel bad cause I've been bad
Bandana replied to viviananna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be honest. I am not at my sweet spot 2 months post - op and I've been eating regular foods. The thing I fear is gaining back the 30 lbs I lost on my pre and post liquid diet. I already gained back 4 lbs. I am back on track and have to use willpower to help me through. Too bad I was never any good at the willpower thing. Anyway, just don't gain like me. It is very upsetting. -
Shortgal Good luck with your vacation. I know it's hard. I can eat the same as you. It's been 2 months for me and 2 fills and no sweet spot yet. All we can do is try to "diet" (can you believe this) until we reach restriction. The main thing is not to gain any weight back. Hang in there.

KAT817 I don't know how I did it but I was able to paste my ticker on another thread following your directions. Do I have to transfer it to every entry I make in the threads or is it supposed to follow my entries? Anyway, I am still in bandster hell. I have had 2 fills and still no restrictions. I was disappointed to hear on the other site that it can take 9 or more months to get restriciton. How do I hang in there. The food keeps calling my name. Talk to you soon and thanks again.

Almost 9 months p/o & still no restriction! Is this band not going to work for me??
Bandana replied to miminms's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kabinz I'm so glad to see that you finally got the restriction you need. How many fills did it take you. I've already had 2 and am very frustrated now. I'm gaining back the weight i LOST on my liquids and am very upset. Do you eat out at all or just at home? Than -
Kat Thank you. I'll try it. Caryn

Tchil I just had my fill also. I'm back to liquids for 2 days and then we'll see how I do. Good luck to you.

Beach girl I got my first fill same day as you. Doctor has me on 2 day clear liquids again. I'm using Isopure which has 40g of protein. There are many different flavors to try. I like the blue bottle. So we'll talk again to see how our fills are going. I got 5cc's. I'm having alot of trouble drinking water though. Caryn

Post Op Diet.... Please Help!
Bandana replied to smilingsoph's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hey smley I know how hungary you could get. I have not been able to adhere good to my postop diet so I'm ashamed also. But why are we herer to begin with. I spoke with my doctor and he said I could get my first fill earlier. I hope this will help. -
Spiffy, Good luck with yout first fill. I'm scheduled for March 7 and hope, no I will stick to my post op diet until then. You and I haven't come this far for nothing. Hang in there and I will too.

KAT, I wish my surgeon had gone into the explanations about the different phases of foods from liquids to soft solids, etc. I too like information and need to understand why. This probably would have helped me. No one even explained to me the cuts and stitches I would have after surgery and I asked the nurse if I have stitches and she didn't know because I was bandaged up. I usually ask questions and I need to take a more involved approach. I wish I had joined this forum before my surgery. Your wisdom is greatly appreciated.

Good question. Have you ever heard anyone getting their first fill after 4 weeks post op?
-
hey bjr, it sounds likke a good meal, how I could go for some right now. Anyway, I was so anxious I messed up my band from my "cheating" I had an x-ray done today and it looked good. I'm in my 5th week post op. When did you get banded?
-
Andrea, PB sounds like a lot to look forward to. LOL. Thanks for informing me. I had a swallow study today and it looks like my band is fine. I'm relieved. Have you ever heard of anyone getting a fill before 6 weeks?
-
thank you so much for your support. I can't tell you how it helps. What is pb? You're so right - I make the wrong choices when I didn't drink all my protein. I'm still having trouble with the water. It looks like you're doing a great job with your weight loss. Congratulations.

Aliwatt I might not be the best for giving advice right now but here goes. My doctor had me on a full clear liquid diet for 2 whole weeks. I was only able to have clear juices like apple or cranberry, broth, sugar-free jello, sugar free ice pops and sugar free sorbet. They stressed to make sure you have 80 grams of protein and I bought the Isopure Zero Carb protein drinks which you can get in GNC or the vitamine shoppe. The next 2 weeks were full liquid diet ( which is when I started to have trouble sticking to it). That's when I had cream soups, yogart, applesauce, sugar-free, fat free pudding, low carbohydrate protein drinks like Medifast. But every doctor gives different instructions. So I would call them to check before deviating at all from their list of foods to follow.

Kat, Wow I see you've lost so much weight in a year and 10 months. That must have been hard work. But you really are doing great and so close to your goal. Thanks for responding to me. I hope I didn't mess up my band on the inside. I am scared I stretched my little new stomach and maybe I did and maybe I did some of the things you mentioned. I'm so mad at myself. AFter all this work to get where I am. I will not deviate from the post op diet anymore. My house is empty, but my husband ordered pizza and had left over. I guess all leftovers go in the garbage now. It's just too tempting. Thanks again and I hope to hear from you again. Caryn

Andrea, Thank you so much for getting back to me. I haven't heard of anyone "cheating" on their post-op diet. But I will get back on track today. Is it really cheating to have a sliver of cake. I also wonder if you're eating less after fills, is it okay to have "less of normal food" or do you only have to have low calorie foods to lose weight. Does it even out?
