  2. Hi I'm Faith, I'm 36. I went for my initial consultation last month. I am diabetic and was just diagnosed with sleep apnea. I also have high blood pressure but it's controlled. I'm pretty lost right now on what the next step is. The Dr. said I had to get a psych evaluation but I have not heard from them. Sent from my SM-J700T using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. My pastor always says to be careful what we ask God because we might not like his response. When we ask for guidance and clarity and he knows we are ready to listen he will let us know. Sometimes we might not feel ready but he knows when we are. Sometimes we want things a certain way but we must trust his way is better. I was once in a bad marriage and I felt the same way you did. I would pray God to please give me strength and guidance to leave or make it work. I was hurt and scared of what the future would bring but I thank the Lord he gave me strength. You are beautiful, be strong and focus on yourself. Focus on your own growth, emotionally, spirituality, physically and mentally. 5. You are a great inspiration! I too was very active all the way up to my late 20s and had sport injuries that led to surgery and I am not able to run anymore. I've lost weight and gained some more. Your story inspires me♡♡ Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  6. I attended a seminar and scheduled my first appointment for wls. The coordinator asked me to take a recommendation letter. Today, I spoke with my pcp who I thought would be against wls but he was quite excited for me. He talked to me about the pros and cons and how is a lifetime commitment and he told me several of his patients had wls and they are doing so well keeping up. He told me to research a good surgeon, I told him who I've selected and it turns out he knows the surgeon I selected for this process. I explained to him how it was a difficult decision to make but I want control of my life and want to be there for my kids. He wrote a recommendation letter and gave me a big hug. I made up my mind a year ago but feel like this is the beginning of my journey. My first appointment is scheduled for the first week of January. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App

    Just the beginning

Good luck!!I was really nervous too. I even went to the appointment alone because I didn't want to feel or be criticized and embarrassed in front of my hubby. I guess it was all in my head. Have you been to your first surgeon appointment yet? Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  8. Hello, Im sure this question was asked before. I live in TX and have Medicare as a secondary insurance. My primary insurance does not cover WLS. Anyhow, Im confused as to how many supervised visits does Medicare require? 3 months or 6 months? Thanks in advance. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  9. Thank you Deanieluv6! So excited for you! What state do you live in? WhitneyMC- I called Medicare and got no answers. Unfortunately, they just read what is on the Medicare website no other info is made available. Also each time I've called its a 2-3 hr hold to speak to a representative.
