2 days post op and too sweet clear liquids
coastergirl posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am still in the hospital at 2 days RNY post op and I just started clear liquids today. The warm high Protein chicken broth is lovely and soothing but the Jello and apple juice they have been serving me is way too sweet. I saw that is a pretty common reaction. What should I eat?? Thinking about asking them to take the sweet stuff off and just give me more broth. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

@@bevlydon have you tried Premier Protein? It has 30g of protein in a serving. I use both the take and go shakes and the powder and mix up my own shakes every morning. I also like Unjury and Genepro for unflavored protein and add it to other things. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I'm Oct 3 too and yesterday I was having some second thoughts but today I am back on track with my excitement for the surgery and what the future holds! I actually am not worried about pain (I've had 3 c-sections and dealt with all fine). But I was thinking yesterday maybe I could do this myself, which I know isn't true. Happy to be a surgery buddy since we are the same day! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

OCTOBER GBs where are you?!?!

October 3 here and day 7 of my pre op diet. I have already lost 12lbs in this 7 days. Crazy. I have been feeling so ready up until this morning when I noticed the keto breath and realized I am full on in ketosis. I keep thinking there are people out there that lose their weight with just a keto diet and exercise not surgery. I know it is just cold feet and I have been expecting this to happen at some point before the actual surgery. Anyway, off to have my Protein shake! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

@@4ukay1 I am on day 7 of my pre op liquid diet and I haven't had headaches in a few days. Some hunger here and there but it is easily solved by a spoonful or two of Greek yogurt. I'm Oct 3 as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Started my liquid diet today too. RNY on 10/3. I tried some cream Soup for lunch and that was pretty gross but other than that I've done well today. Hubby is cooking dinner for the kids and I am enjoying some time outside with a Protein shake! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Hello, I have my appointment with my surgeon tomorrow and will be scheduling surgery most likely for sometime in October. My question is how did you feel at say 4-5 weeks out or 5-8 weeks out? I own my own business and I have a long weekend of trade shows scheduled for the first weekend in December. I will most likely be on my feet from 9am-7pm for a couple days and staying at a hotel for the weekend. I know it will vary person to person but I'm just trying to figure out if this sounds like something that is feasible at around 5-8 weeks out? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
