6 days post op mental hunger..
LxA replied to mslah103's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah in the beginning you're recovering but when you start moving and feel better then it will suck... But you get use to it and find a routine. I still eat pizza but a tiny version of what I use to eat. If you're like me you'll have to confront your dysfunctional relationship with food and it will be a break up. Eventually the head hunger moves on and you'll hang out with the ghost of head hunger. You're normal and it is hard. Best of luck to you HW 341 lbs 07/19/16 - 298 lbs 08/09/16 DOS - 286 lbs CW 251 lbs -

Hello Out There August 2016 Sleevers!
LxA replied to Sc7272's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow I wish my weight loss was as awesome as yours. I'm only 30 lbs down and my sleeve date was August 9th. Admittedly I've been eating more carbs the past month. I should focus on Protein again. How is everyone else's weight loss going? HW 341 lbs 07/19/16 - 298 lbs 08/09/16 DOS - 286 lbs CW 253 lbs -

If you know this about yourself, then what are you doing to change this? Are you working with a therapist? Are you attending support groups?I am not sure yet . I am having my vsg in two day on the 19th of October. What do you suggest? Or do you anyone in my situation that tried something and actually got some benefits of it ? Sent from my SGH-I337M using the BariatricPal App Y'know you can prepare for everything and there will be things you missed. I declined a VSG 4 years ago because I didn't think I was ready for it. I went to regular therapy sessions until I thought I was truly ready. I'm about 2 months out and I still struggle with the practical and psychological aspects of food, but the VSG has been a great tool to help me renegotiate this dysfunctional relationship. I think it's great that you're airing out your anxieties and misgivings. This is a big decision and shouldn't be done casually. Also you're not alone, as you can tell this feeling is very common and it's great you're confronting it. Good luck to you. HW 341 lbs 07/19/16 - 298 lbs 08/09/16 DOS - 286 lbs CW 256 lbs

Gastric bypass still on full liquid I want to eat applebees

I've come to a similar conclusion. I've migrated to a board that has less traffic but more positive people. It's unhelpful to rebuke people who are still changing their relationship with food and yet there are many on here who harshly shame anyone with decision they disagree with, e.g. "Why did you get the surgery if you can't follow the rules?" I mean, really? Why the hate from someone who is obviously just as food flawed? Maybe their ugliness is an expression of the private judgment they have for themselves? In either case that spiteful know-it-all attitude is one of the reasons I rarely participate here anymore. HW 341 lbs 07/19/16 - 298 lbs 08/09/16 DOS - 286 lbs CW 256 lbs -
I've had dizziness and near faints too. My doctor's office advised me to increase my fluids which I was incredulous of, because I was drinking Water like mad etc. But it really was the answer for me. I began spacing my drinking more evenly and increased my salt intake to retain the water. I have definitely improved. Hope you feel better soon. I'm still amazed at how small my lunch is. Sometimes it's 80% of a yogurt cup and then later I have a snack of a mozzarella stick or some hummus. I'm still not allowed to eat raw vegetables which is something I long for. HW 341 lbs 07/19/16 - 298 lbs 08/09/16 DOS - 286 lbs CW 264 lbs

It happened to me and lasted almost 17 days and then BAM I dropped 5 lbs. You're going to see and hear of people who changed it up i.e. diet, exercise, routine, etc. Personally I just put my scale away. Trust me it's gonna be cool. HW 341 lbs 07/19/16 - 298 lbs 08/09/16 DOS - 286 lbs CW 267 lbs -

I'm a month post up and until today was limiting myself to light walking and light body weight stuff like squats and arm circles. Today I decided to do a Zumba program that pre surgery I did with ease but omg I was only 10 minutes in before I had to stop. I felt winded and a little pukey. Has this happened to other people? I figure I have to go back the super beginner stuff, but really I was surprised. Thanks in advance HW 341 lbs 07/19/16 - 298 lbs 08/09/16 DOS - 286 lbs CW 267 lbs

I was like this too in addition to the above posts, I found that my hunger was timed to my eating times before the vsg, so I thought of it as my habitual hunger and convinced myself that it would change as I got use to my new feeding reality. I don't know about you but my hunger also triggered a sense of anxiety for me as well so realising that I just prepared for it with mindfulness practices and had food ready like a mozzarella stick or took sips of my shake. My hunger response has definitely gotten better. HW 341 lbs 07/19/16 - 298 lbs 08/09/16 DOS - 286 lbs CW 267 lbs

Sick of clear liquid diet, rather eat nothing.
LxA posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 6 days post-op. I've complied with my Clear liquids and now I can't stand them. The idea of drinking broth or eating another popsicle turns my stomach, and I think yesterday was the last day for the SF Jello. I called my doctor's office to see if I could have a Protein drink or possibly pureed Soup. They asked if I was feeling weak and suggested that I drink SF Gatorade/POWERade (barf) but no to my request. I decided to drink coconut Water (100%, no sugar or flavors) instead. So serious question has anyone just decided not to eat? My follow up is Thursday and assuming all goes well I'll be allowed "soft food" apparently skipping the puree altogether, so looking forward to that. I know there's this argument that the facility imposes this for a reason but this is a blanket protocol applied to everyone and I did not have co-morbidities or pre-diabetes. I'm just plain ole fat. Thanks for reading my long venting post. HW 341 SW 298 DOSW 286 CW 275 DOS 08/09/16 -

Hey August peoples... I've been stalled for about 2 weeks now. Is anyone else stalled too? I know it will pass but dang, it's really taking to wind out of my sail HW 341 lbs 07/19/16 - 298 lbs 08/09/16 DOS - 286 lbs CW 269 lbs -

I totally know how you feel. I've seen the same in my body, everything seeming softer or looser. It's weird, like becoming deflated. HW 341 lbs 07/19/16 - 298 lbs 08/09/16 DOS - 286 lbs CW 269 lbs -
So I've stalled for almost 2 weeks and of course I've read the embrace the stall threads etc. Recently I watched vlogs on YouTube with people who stalled and then as their vlogs continue they all lose respectable amounts of weight. My question is this, it seems that when faced with the stall almost everyone tried different strategies to "break" the stall like going all Atkins or keto, some began working out furiously and others increased their calorie intake... Do you think there is a strategy or is it merely following whatever guide and being patient? It seems like the answer is the latter and all the other stuff is just busy work and distractions. Your thoughts? HW 341 lbs 07/19/16 - 298 lbs 08/09/16 DOS - 286 lbs CW 269 lbs
