Hi Salsa, My doctor wants me to get in 44 oz of water a day. I do have a 64 oz jug at work. Before surgery I could get the whole jug down. Now I try to get 1/2 a jug down each day at work. Then I do add in my coffee in the morning and fruits and veggies. It may be a little harder for me now with my second fill. I feel extremely tight, but I can still keep food and water down. I just have to eat very slow and chew my food. I did make the mistake of having a soft bread stick at Olive Garden. I know that I will never make that mistake again. It hurt.

Hi Salsa, I love the Pure Protein bars as well. I made the mistake one time of having the fruit one for Breakfast. I thought I was going to die. It was awful. I usually have the bars for my afternoon snack as well. Do you have any other quick snack ideas? I work at Fred Meyer, so I can usually find some great choices, but I am getting bored. Also I just had my second fill and boy do I now have restriction. So I am looking for snack ideas that are easy going down for a while. Thank you for all of your inspiration. Katie K. (potatie)

Hi Salsa, I thought that I was the only person who got hungry when drinking so much Water. I have been working very hard to get my water in. Then I find that when I do I eat more. How much water did you start drinking to begin with? I am now exercising 30 min a day, five days a week, low impact to begin. Thank you for your list. Katie K. (potatie)

Hi Mylah, I LOVE my Wii Fit too. My favorite exercises are hula hooping and stepping. I usually start with hula hooping and then move to stepping and ending with 20 min of free step. Then I do the body test after I finish my 30 min. I found that I weighed less after exercising so that is why I do my body test after. I also found that my Wii age was a lot lower after exercising. So try that. Have you gotten to boxing yet? It is a lot of fun. I get to have my second fill on Wednesday. I should of had it last week but because of the holiday my doctor was not working. So I am hoping that they will still let me have my fill, because I am still losing weight, but I am also searching out food in the evening. I hope all goes well.

I LOVE my Wii Fit. I was NOT an exerciser before surgery. I have been searching for an alternative to a gym. The gym's in my area have no clue when it came to heavier people needing an exercise program to match their level. So I am glad that I now have my Wii Fit. I am actually excited to come home from work and to jump on my Wii board. The only thing that I do not like is that you have to weigh yourself every day to get your stamp for the day. It is kind of hard to see your weight go up and down every day. So I have to remind my self that the important thing is that I am exercising every day for 30 min. and later the weight will come off. So just keep that in mind if you decide to buy the Wii Fit, otherwise I say go for it. It truly is a lot of fun.

I just got my Wii Board as well. So far I love it. It is so much fun. I never thought that 30 min on the Wii Board would go so fast. I like the fact that I can exerice in my home and have FUN!!! I like the fact that it is also a scale, so now I do not have go buy one. I am looking forward to being able to accomplish more and more every day.

I wish I was allowed a protein shake. My doctor told me that I am not allowed any more protein shakes. I did find a protein bar that is only 180 calories, 19 grams of protein and only 2 grams of sugar. The bars taste really great. I think they are called pure protein. I found them in my store's nutrician center.

Hi Everyone, I seem to have issues at night after work. I can go all day at work with just eating my Breakfast and lunch. Then 5 PM hits and it seems that I want to be an eating machine. I measure my dinner. It is wierd because what seems to fill me up in the morning no longer holds for the evening, even though I am eating all of my Protein. I wait an hour before eating any thing else. I also make sure that I get in all of my Water. Does any one have any tips on how I can make this stop? Thank you

Hi Diva, Congrats on your NSV. I too was very happy when I was able to fit into smaller clothes. I thought that I was going to cry in the dressing room, because I was now able to buy clothes in a store that I could not fit into anything before. I think that we all need to celebrate the little goals and not just focus on the end the result. Keep up the great work.

My first NSV! Share yours as they happen!

Hi Everyone, I had my fist NSV yesterday. I actually walked into a Nordstrom's Rack and I was able to try on the clothes that they had in the store. This has been the first time for me in a very long time. I did not buy anything there because I did not want to pay so much money for an item of clothing that I know I won't be wearing in a month. I am glad that I now have more options in clothing instead of having to shop at only a few stores. Congrats to everyone!!! Keep up the AWESOME work. -
So, are people beginning to "notice"?
potatie replied to tonyahebert's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Everyone, I have noticed the same thing at. Most people know that I have had surgery, and they are being very supportive. I have had many people tell me that they are beginning to see positive changes. I am very thankful for the positive support and comments. So everyone keep up the GREAT work. :cursing: -
Hi Ann, I myself thought that I was not doing that well until my doctor came in and told me that I was doing great. I also had to remember that I have lost more in one month than I did all last year on ww. So celebrate every success. I know there are going to be many more for you and everyone. :cursing:

Thank you Special K. It must have taken along time to complete. I am amazed on how many people were banded this month. I am glad to know that I will have a lot of support in the up coming months and years. :bolt: So far everything is going well for me. I was banded on 3/27/08. All I can say is that I am SOOOO thankful that my doctor allowed me to have mushies on week 2.

Hi, Thank you for all of the suggestions. I did check with the insurance and they told that I am to stay over night and the orders are already in. I know what you mean about getting ahold of the office. They are terrible. I have my pre-op on March 19, but so far I only know the time of the dietician. So I am going to start the calls again. I was just in Palm Springs in January. My father in law had an emergecy by pass surgery. So we spent a lot of time at Eisenhouser Hospital. Potatie

Hi Everyone, I am starting to get excited now that it is March. I will be banded on 03/27/08. I am glad to see that there are many people that will be joining me on this journey. I am now looking forward to my pre-op on 19th. Then surgery a week later. :cool2: Good luck to everyone. I know we are all going to make our goals.

Thank you. I will keep your recommendations in mind. I think now I am beginning to get nervous, or maybe I am just excited.

Hi Everyone, I am 31. I am married with 2 cats, no kids. I have been over weight my entire life. So I am really excited about starting my life over with surgery on March 27, 2008. I know it is going to be a lot of hard work and dedication. I am so glad to find a group of people that will be able to understand what I am going through and how I feel. I am finding that some think that I am taking the easy road, but I know deep down that this journey is far from easy.

Hi, You look AWESOME!!!! Keep up the great work. My only hope is that I will have similar results when I get banded on March 27, 2008.

Hi Everyone, I am new to this group. I just found out on Friday that my surgery will be on March 27, 2008. I am seeing Dr. Hunter with Virginia Mason. Has anyone else had him as a surgen? Also does anyone have any recommendations on what type of items I should buy to prepare myself for surgery (ie things I may need after surgery)? Thank you

Hi Everyone, I will be banded on March 27th. The doctor's office called me this last Friday and I started to cry. I had called the nurse earlier in the day and they told me that I would not be banded until May. Then he called me back and said that he had an opening on March 27th if I was interested. I said yes. Mean while my new hire that I was teaching orientation was giving me this wierd look until I explained what was going on. Then she started to cry.
