    No energy, five days out

This is an amazing group. I am so appreciative of all of your help. Thank you so much.
  2. First of all, barely five days out, i am so grateful for this forum and for all of your help and perspective. I had my surgery on August 23. I have not yet managed significant walking or real exercise, and am becoming concerned whether i am getting enough Protein. liquid intake has definitely improved. All of a sudden, this morning my energy level dropped to zero. I am totally exhausted from showering and trying to put myself together. I plan on enlisting a nutritionist on Monday to work with me, but as a type A entrepreneur who is used to just getting things done, I am shocked at how weak and overwhelmed I feel today. Does anyone have hints, tips or suggestions? Thank you, as always.

    No energy, five days out

Thank you. I like the Premier, but I understand that they are 30 grams for the whole premixed container. I was told 2-4 ounces twice a day, so that is actually not much protein, no? Can I use the IsoPure protein-boosted tea as liquids? They seem to have a lot of calories. Confused and feeling sooooo weak today.

    Home from surgery 8/23

I had my surgery the same day as you. I also had trouble swallowing until today, when it miraculously passed. sugar free ice pops were a godsend, allowing me to get Fluid in. Warm chicken broth also helped. Today is so much better - i hope tomorrow will be for you, too. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Yay, you! You look wonderful. Celebrate today by shopping for something fabulous that you absolutely love and never could have worn before. I am four days out and you inspire me.
  6. To be honest, it was a very, very rough day. I experienced severe nausea and I think that I had a bad reaction to the anasthesia. Came home in the afternoon. My husband is taking amazing care of me. I have no desire whatsoever for food - only sips of Water and sugar-free ice pops. Hoping for a better day today. am glad that I did it and glad that the surgery is now behind me. Now mustt focus on getting better and stronger. Thank you, everyone.

Tomorrow is my surgery :) :(

By the way - re telling people: I was selective in who I told, but am generally adopting the following attitude. I'm not proud of needing this procedure, but I am not ashamed of it, either. I am successful at many things in my life, as I am sure that you are, too. None of us can be successful in every realm. We can protect ourselves from people who we think might not "get it" but I don't think that we have anything to be embarrassed about or feel shame over, either.

Wow - you're quite the hottie now :-)
  13. So, tomorrow is my big day. I have been thinking a great deal about my dysfunctional lifelong relationship with food and struggle with my weight. I am extremely happy about having taken this step, but approach tomorrow with great trepidation, mixed with a significant amount of relief. My surgery will be on an outpatient basis. Today is actually the first day that I am fasting, as my (highly experienced) surgeon does not espouse the two week pre-op fast. I just pray that everything goes well, that there are no complications and that I do not experience excessive nausea or pain. Your encouragement, suggestions and recommendations would be most welcome. I am glad that I have found this forum, which is very helpful to me. Thank you, all.

    Down 75, 25 to go!

Thank you for the inspiration! I am going in on Tuesday (yikes)! You look beautiful.
  15. I am due to be sleeved in just six short days, and just yesterday I found out that my insurance will be covering it, after all, saving me an enormous amount of money. So, I had to share that relief here! :-) Any tips for the upcoming days to best prepare? My surgeon (Dr. Bertha) actually does not believe in the necessity of a liquid diet for two weeks, so I have been spared that. Favorite Protein supplements? Things to have on hand for after the surgery? How to get through the ride home (I'm being operated on an out-patient basis at a surgical center)? Material to read before surgery? What should I buy? How should I prepare? What should I know? Many thanks!
  16. Congratulations! How are you feeling? Please share your experience, as I am going in next week :-).
  17. Hello everyone - I am new to this forum and am scheduled to have gastric sleeve surgery in 11 days. What are your most helpful tips for getting ready for surgery and your most valuable suggestions for overall success on the road that I am about to travel? I am excited and hopeful for a better quality of life but feel a little bit like I am jumping out of an airplane without sufficient information about how to operate my parachute. Please share and tell me what was most helpful for you - no tip too big or too small. Thank you!

What are your best tips for success?

Do any of you know if it is possible to remain on primarily meal replacements for a more extended period of time than the initial few weeks? I wonder whether that might give me a better head start and help me to keep away from food and choices. Also, is it possible to drink too much water? Does a lot of water stretch the pouch?
