I went in for a fill today, and had gained 2 pounds. I knew I was eating more than I should, but I had been feeling no restriction for the past few weeks. I have been VERY slow in losing the weight, only 9 pounds so far in 4 months. She filled me from 1.2 to 1.5cc's so I'm hoping it will be better.

I agree with Kryssa. The letterhead from my Dr. only said Surgical Associates. There was a page with my forms for leave that had a spot to sign on to give my employer access to my records if necessary. I certainly did NOT sign that page, and no one even questioned me. Employers do NOT need to have access to or know anything about your medical history/circumstances. If you don't want to tell, don't. Simple as that. I simply said I was having some intestinal surgery. If anyone asked anything more, I just said I didn't want to talk about it. And I work at a hospital!

Looking for November 2005 Banders!
crazykelibee replied to bostonfatgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my third fill yesterday. I'm only down 9 pounds! I was on a cruise all last week and lost .5, which I was proud of considering it was a cruise and you eat every 15 minutes! I'm still not feeling any restriction, but I only have 1.2 cc's in. The only time I have even felt the band is when I had shrimp cocktail. It didn't want to go down. For about 20 minutes, I was in major pain until up it came. Then I felt much better and learned my lesson. Other than that, I don't even notice my band at all. I'm being patient though. I figure 9 down is better than 9 up, and that puts me at 1 pound per week which is 52 pounds in a year. I can live with that. -
Have you tried the Yoplait Nouriche Light yogurt smoothies? They only have 170 calories in 11oz, and 10g of protein! I have one for breakfast every day. Dannon also makes one that is smaller in size, like 80 calories, and 6g of protein. It's a good way to start my day!

I Borrowed against my house. Hubby wasn't thrilled, but it worked out just fine. -
Before first fill vs. after first fill...
crazykelibee replied to newVAbandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am so glad I found this post. I have really been starting to beat myself up because I've only lost 7 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks. It seems when I read others postings here that have been banded around the same time, they're down like 20-30 pounds. I've been wondering if I did the right thing, but now I'm glad I'm not alone. I've felt little if any restriction, although I'm very conscious about getting my protein in each day. I've also been exercising every day since last week. I'm hoping this helps. I have a followup appt tomorrow, so we'll see what the doc says. -
So far I'm just on the fence about the band. I'm not feeling that much different. The liquids are getting old, but I've been able to add some bulk like soggy saltines and bloated pasta pieces. Mmmm, tasty. So I'm just looking at all the before and after's thinking how cool it will be in a month or so when I can really tell a difference.

anyone here start with a bmi under 40?
crazykelibee replied to Bruce Peter's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My BMI was 38. My Dr. never said anything about me being too light. That would have been a first! I was self pay. $13,000. Ouch. So far it's been worth it. Find a Dr. that understands your pain of being fat, and wants to help you. -
Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
crazykelibee replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
www.followalong.blogspot.com I'm only 10 days out, so no during or after, but the before is the morning of surgery. I just put it all out there. And that's a lot! -
I didn't think it was working, because I feel like I've been eating so much. I guess it's doing it's thing.
