Cheated on my preop liquid diet, will the dr cancel my surgery?
Color83 replied to ginaandy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
To the original poster, I would honestly try to get my mind right if I you....not to shame you about cheating because shit happens, but cheating 3 days in a row seem a little bothersome....and with this mindset with being tricky or lying to your surgeon ( not necessarily from you) you may be setting yourself up for failure.... weightloss surgery is not the end all be all of our issues with food.....truth is as "fat" people most of us have learned at one point or another to be very sneaky or I would even say conniving with food. Food is our drug and at one point or another we have all lied or done something tricky behind food...but before we go through with surgery we have to make up our minds to shed our old selves and behaviors around food, because I am pretty sure you already know you can "trick" that pouch or sleeve...I know a friend of the family that had gastric bypass 2 yrs ago and has never been able to get under 380 lbs because she learn to eat around it....if we eat out of stress or emotion we need to learn how to correct this before we have this surgery...first step would be to learn how to stop being sneaky and how to cover up our tracks with food... I would suggest being honest with your surgeon...and then learn the "triggers" that cause you to be impulsive and have no will power around food. Sent from my HTC6500LVW using the BariatricPal App -
I feel weird in this situation....I'm not broadcasting to the world that I'm having weightloss surgery but if soneone ask I tell them....hell I'm fat, it not that much of a surprise that I need it and it pretty common nowadays....I haven't met anyone that I told who doesn't know someone who has already done it or who are also going through the process. Thanks for the advise, advice about the fasting... But I guess I should explain it more 1 day you kinda eat what you want then the second day it would be a liquid diet / with Protein shake and one 500 calorie meal around noon.... I ran across the idea while doing research on the study of eating habits in America and I figured it would be a good tool in obtaining my weight loss goal and maintenance Sent from my HTC6500LVW using the BariatricPal App -

BMI too high for gastric bypass...so Sleeve it is
Color83 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm 5'8 438lb and started my journey in January 2016....at my initial consultation with my surgeon I let the doctor know I was on the fence between the Sleeve and RNY he didn't advised me that I would need to lose weight for either procedure but now wbthat my insurance has approved the wants me to lose 30lb before he would do the bypass...it would have been nice if I told me this 6 months ago, but Im excited and after reading some of the testimonials of the sleevers I'm confident this will be a wonderful tool for me.... hopefully this Monday I will get my surgery date abd in prepped to begin the pre op liquid diet Sent from my HTC6500LVW using the BariatricPal App -
