Tomorrow 8/23 is my surgery. I am excited, nervous and scared. Am I going to be able to do this/ Will I lose weight? Will I hate my choice? I do not have large BMI and people have been questioning my decision. I do have diabetes, GERD, High blood pressure, sleep apnea, and a little bit of high coles. I haven't told many people not even most of my family because I hate the negative reactions. I told them im having hernia surgery(which they are doing as well) I'm starving ,,,,,Clear liquids only today...and my surgery isn't until 4pm tomorrow~!~ Please give me some encouragement!

I quit years ago and used the patch. It worked so well for me. In 6 weeks I was done and never smoked another one.

My husband is only worried about the actual surgery and recovery. He knows this will be a big life style change for both of us and im sure he is a little apprehensive about it. He is not worried about me getting thin, he is not worried about other men. He wants me to be happy and confident like I was when I met him. He also knows this is good for my health issues and wants me around. My surgery is today and he is quietly nervous. (so am I) Remember this is about you!

Im not scheduled until 2 so im sitting here starving and wondering if ill be ok....grr

Thank you all so much for the encouragement! I am sitting here STARVING my stomcah is burning and the GERD is in full force. How am i going to make it until tomorrow afternoon. Its burning, @@skinnyjeansatlast ii is exciting to meet someone having surgery on the same day. We can keep other company along our journey. how are you managing today with no food?

Mine is one week 1000 cal high Protein low carb no sugar diet, and 1 day liquid only. Their practice goes by BMI the more weight you have to lose the longer the pre op diet

53 years old 5'6 220 today at my pre=op today. My goal is 160 surgery is 8/23

I will be starting on Sunday....I am scared!

My BMI is 35 and my surgery in happening on 8/23. I had my pre-op today. All my pre op tests are done and I am good to go. I have diabetes, high blood pressure, GERD, and sleep apnea. So, while my BMI isn't that high I have many medical issues that my weight makes worse. I am hoping that this surgery will get rid of most of them.
