  1. Surgery on 8/11 - I was so worried about starting the school year on 8/29 right after surgery. I was very concerned that I wouldn't be ready, but you know what? I was ready! I handled the stress and exhaustion and feel really good. I started yoga again this week and have been twice and am fully back in the groove of life. I went to my first post-op on Friday and am down 10 pounds. I have NO pain, NO reflux, NO vomiting. This has been so easy for me and I'm so thankful! I am tracking all foods on My Fitness Pal and am hitting around 800 calories a day and 85 g of Protein. Anyone wondering if this life is for you? YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

    Meal prep & update

WOW! That all sounds so great! I'm 9 days out and can't even think about adding meats yet. I, too, have had no nausea and am feeling awesome. 27 pounds is amazing; way to go!

    6 weeks

You are doing GREAT! That is a LOT of weight in just six weeks. Keep your head up and keep losing!
  6. Thanks all! I used a straw and no problems ensued. I was able to get in my liquids faster/better - but not too fast and with no pain. YAY all the way around.

    Tummy control

I wear this beige deliciousness beneath my clothes every single day. 8 days post-op it feels really good and keeps my wobbly bits in place. https://www.classicshapewear.com/p/flexees-by-maidenform-take-inches-off-wear-your-own-bra-singlet-2556

    Weight Loss Timeline

In my first week, I lost 6 pounds. 191.4 to 185.4 I'm just 8 days out, so that's all I can report.
  9. I randomly found mine on Amazon.com; it is great and keeping me sane during the liquid phase.
  10. Hi wonderful people - I'm 8 days out from surgery and feeling great. All liquids and Proteins are in and I'm getting skinnier by the day. =) I prefer my Protein shakes very cold, BUT I have sensitive teeth and it's killing me to not use a straw. When did you start using one after surgery? The literature from my surgeon/nut mention to NOT use one during Clear Liquids, but say nothing about the full liquid period. Thoughts? Opinions? Thanks!
  11. I am post- op day six and on full liquids. I ordered Proti hot chocolate mix and, I tell you, it is the best thing ever. I love it and it's yummy, so something MUST be wrong. I am mixing 1 1/2 scoop into 8 ounces of non- fat milk. I believe I am getting 26 grams of Protein in this cup of wonderfulness. Here is the Proti nutritional info. Am I missing something or have I found guilt- free heaven?????

  13. Hi - I've been reading here for a very long time, but this is my first post. I am in a desperate situation with my VSG and need some advice. Back story: I had a lap band placed in 2006 and was very sick with it for a long time. I met with my surgeon last September and we decided to revise to a VSG. I did the six month supervised diet and everything for insurance. Revision was scheduled for April 19, 2016; in the recovery room he tells me that he could not revise to VSG because I had far too much inflamed scar tissue and that we need to wait four months for it to calm down and revise then. OK. So - VSG scheduled for 8/15; all is well. Office called today and asked to move my surgery to tomorrow morning; I am slated to check into the hospital at 9am. The surgeon called me shortly after I agreed to tell me that there is only a fifty percent chance that he will be successful with the VSG procedure due my scar tissue. I told him to go for it anyway and that I trust him. I am 46. I was 257 at my highest and am now at 190; my goal is 130. I have lost and gained HUNDREDS of pounds over and over and over for the entirety of my adult life and was hopeful the sleeve would help me end this cycle and maintain a sensible weight. So - do I go forward with the surgery tomorrow and hope I'm in the positive fifty percent and that it is successful? Do I give it up and try once again to forge out a thinner life on my own? I'm very stressed and need advice. Thanks!
