well I was lucky in a way...unlucky with my insurance didnt pay for it , so I was self pay...I went in for my consultion after test and seminar, etc. and that day we scheduled it for the following week.....it was the week of thanksgiving....boooo...no thanksgiving dinner for me,but I was ok with that......I only had to tak two days off of work, cause we were already closed thursday and friday...so needless to say it seemed like that follwoing tuesday was an eternity..... Happy bandlife.... im still not ready for swimsuit life...maybe next summer I will be exstatic

I was weighed that moring before I got dressed for surgery...so I used that wight....I didnt have to do a pre op diet so it basically was the same weight for me...

P'nut- Yeahhhhh gooo girl....Im so excited for you with you wieghtloss mark!!! Jill- I too will keep you in my prayers as well. I think Im never steppin on another scale!! Im still the same 210... ok i just know at any time i will stop droppin...im loosing inches but my weight is not moving....HELP!!! i mean I love the inches but why wouldnt the weight drop as well??? How much muscle could a girl gain???

I agree....at first I had this mental picture of what/how skinny I wanted to be....my cousin was much larger than me and had the gastric a few years ago and I saw how tiny she got...and just knew I could do the same...But I have realized that we are two different body types and "tools"....Im happy to have chosen the band and I am now ok with the slow weight loss it actually helps me to keep reality in my view..... Im happy to just have lost and I will continue to work hard to get smaller, but I realized that we cant all be a size 4!!! Everyone always ask me what size do you want to be or wiegh...and I have to tell them I am unsure my body has never even been this small since Kindegarten!! LOL.....I just want feel better about my looks and have the confidence that comes along with that....

I think the hardest thing too is knowing/learning when to stop...I have been banded since Nov. 2004 and I still learn something with this wonderful tool everyday...I still have A LOT of trouble staying away from something to drink while eating/afterwards.......such a pain for me.....

Mine too is titled...infact the nurse at Spivaks office was showing the other nurse that mine was a good one to learn on...I was thinking to myself maybe not!!! at least not on me!!! I was told its normal due to the fat loss by the port area...she said nothing to worry about....mine infact is pointed downward and she told me most point upward when they turn...Oh lucky me!!! I have had no problem recieving fills in office or with Spivak under fluro....He always does a perfect job, and "knock on wood" He has only had to stick me once everytime I have recieved a fill.

I did awful!!! Not really with the candy part, but food in general...trying to get back on track this week!!!

PAIN?? MMMM to be honest I cant really remember much pain, ...it kind of numbs after it is being done for a minute....i would say the foot and lower back were the worst cause not too much padding on that part of my body!! The foot i do remember it hitting certain spots where it was a shock

I have five different tatoos and all in different places....mine still look the same....Im down 86lbs so far......they still look good as new..... 1. lower back 2. one on each ankle 3. one on my foot 4. one lower tummy we'll see as i loose more!

well I actually dont mind telling people..im proud to have had the band! but I do understand where you are coming from...cause some poeple look at you like you are crazy!!! been there before....but I like what everyone is saying that you have really worked hard mentally and physically and have great tools to help you!

I was a 10W and now im a 9 or 91/2 regulare width....it can happen!!!

Where Did You Get The Book From? I Have A Recipe Book For Weight Loss Surgeries..gives A Lot Of Helpful Hints And Ideas For Foods .....im Not Much Of A Cook Or Good At Making Up Recipes And This One Has Some Good Ideas In It....

Megan...im sorry to hear about your grandmother....I hope you have a better week, my thoughts are with you.... poor LuLu thank goodness she did find you .....she is better off in doggie Heaven than suffering here on earth.....animals are the best....I know how hard it is to put an animal down, been there and done that to my cat I had all of my life.......its aweful feeling, but at the same time you know in your heart you did the right thing.
