  1. Happy 41st Birthday yvonneky!

  2. I was banded on april 24th, and have been doing fine until today. I got up this morning and my grandbaby wanted some biscuits and gravy from dairy queen. I ate about 1 bis w/gravy. Then about an hour later my stomache started hurting and swelled up. I'm having a little trouble taking deep breathes. I am hurting all over my stomache area.. I have took 2 gas x pills and it still hasn't gave me any relief yet.. It has been about 7 hours. I was wondering if it may be the biscuit stuck in my stoma or something else.please any info will help. tina
  3. Hi i was banded on the 24th and I did stay on my liquid diet for a week and a day then i moved to puddings(sf)and mashed potato's, soups such as tomato, potato etc... trust me it does get better, and just try to add a little thicker food as you go. Good luck...

  5. Hey all I had my surgery last thursday(24) had to stay 2 nites in hospital do to my left arm was swollen and bruised (they think they pulled a muscle or something, waiting on x-ray to come back). But i am doing really good a little sore and alot of gas... but drinking plenty of liquids and jellos.Oh yeah and plenty of gas x. The 1st day i was like what the hell was i thinking????Then each day after that i was like this was no big deal the pain is nothing compared to the pay off- losing weight.. thanks all.....
  6. Thanks for the comments, my dr said for me to stay on liquids, popsickles, and protein shakes for 2 weeks then move to mashed potatos purieed foods etc... I just wasn't sure if like potato soup was okay or not. thanks again for all the help..
  7. Hey all, this is my 4th day post opp. and i was just wandering what did some of u all eat like your first week or two after surgery???? I'm doing pretty good on the liquid and popsicles but I am starting to crave something else!!! thanks to all who can help....
  8. Hey, listen first of all any 1 of us that has had this lapband and went thru the commitment that we have will tell u this deffently is not the "easy way out", this is one of the hardest things that i have commited to. Plus how many of them are just sitting back waiting for us to fail. To me the easy way out would to be the way i was living and always had an excuse for gaining weight. just my opinion
  9. Hey all, I'm finally getting to have my surgery tomarrow.... I'm so excited!!!! For those of u who may not remember me I was first scheduled for surgery on March 18th. The dr. had a migraine, so then was rescheduled for the 19th. but couldn't get any radiologist(sp?) to come in on a saturday and do the swollowing test. So now it's been a little over a month so I'm sorta excited but at the same time afraid that it wont happen again.....So wish me luck all..Will let u all know what happens.
  10. Love, love, love this post: won't miss everything u all have already said plus 1. being ashamed of going to any social events because of the looks and staires that people give. 2. feeling guilty when i do go out in public and eat. 3. trying to be sexy in the bedroom, but only if the lights are off. 4. plus the worst that someone can say to you-- "you have such a pretty face?" 5. etc. etc....etc....
  11. I personaly would be pissed to pay that much and not get results that I wanted. Speak up and tell ur dr. that ur not happy with the job and get it fixed. If you took ur car to have it fixed would u put up with a halfass job?? No, so don't let this dr. half ass this job..

    Any April's out there?

Hi all my surgery is scheduled for April 17th. wishin all good luck....
  13. thanks for all the kind words. This forum is great. I will call tomarrow and see what they can do for me since i was cancelled twice.. I will let all know what they say. Tina from Kentucky:thumbup:
  14. Hey all 1st. time on here. I was scheduled for my surgery on thursday the 27 and showed up at 7am got my I.V started, started getting excited then about 2hours later they come in and tell me the dr has a migraine so come back the next day for surgery. Well friday comes and same thing goes on but after about 3 hours they come in and tell me that they can't get a radiolagist(spelling??) to come in and work on Saturday even though they offered more money etc... so guess what? yep u guessed it put off for another 3 weeks. Feeling so upset. Bad thing is i had already been on liquid diet for about 2 weeks and a clear liquid for 3 days. So i guess all i can say is here i go again., (of course i did eat regular foods so far but will go back on liquids in a few days) thanks for letting me rant........
