Should I be worried about this?
-
No he was just a Hospitalist
-
I was in the hospital and don’t remember what he said.
-
I had to have emergency surgery.

The fluid did not come back but I ended up back in the hospital Bc my intestines were very inflamed.

I will be 3 years this June. I’m Not sure what happened as the doctors still could not give me an answer as to why it happened. During surgery they only drained fluid from around my liver.

I am 2.5 years out and have lost 110lbs. I ate dinner tonight and about an hour later I took my medications. Within 60 seconds I threw up but the weird thing is the pills didn’t come out but the food from dinner did. I can’t figure out why. The only thing I can think of is a pocket formed on the side of my stomach that held back either the food or my medication. Looking for answers

I am currently 2.5 years out after Gastric Bypass. I have had a lot of ups and downs but something new has started. I can eat and drink fine and all of a sudden I feel like I have a stomach virus and throw up any little sips I take. This usually last for about 4 hours and passes. I am not sure why this is happening and if it has happened to anyone else.

Yes still watching fat and sugar. My water intake has been very low since day 1. It only seems to happen after drinking liquids. I left a msg for my dr.

Has anyone else experienced hypoglycemia after surgery? If so how severe and how did you correct it?
-
Wow I’m happy you are feeling better.
-
Thank you for all of the support. I have blacked out several times and when in the hospital had to get D-5 aka D-50 pushed. My test strips were recalled and now my insurance will not cover Hypoglycemia so I am not testing and I’m scared.

Besides NSAIDS has anyone discovered anything else that will cause an ulcer or flare it up? Also, how quickly can they form? Just trying to expand my knowledge! I am 2 years out this month.

Bleeding Gastric Ulcer
pdallariva replied to pdallariva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you! I appreciate the reply. -
This past April I was DX with a bleeding ulcer and my HGB was all the way down to 7.4 and I needed a blood transfusion. My levels of HGB keep going up and down and iron levels are always low. About 2 weeks ago I tried to receive iv iron infusion however had a bad reaction. I am scheduled for an endoscopy tomorrow but wanted to seek help with questions I have. If I do the scope and no bleeding is found why does my HGB drop down to 8 and back upto 10 again? I cannot understand this! Also if I react to the iron infusions what is the next step? Any suggestions are welcome. One last thing I follow a good diet but don’t eat much however when I do eat there are times I throw up still. Desperate for answers!!

I am currently 14 months out and have lost a total of 125 lbs and still losing. About a week now my body has been hurting so badly especially my legs. Today I can hardly get out of bed. I also have issues with my hemoglobin and had one blood transfusion already. Does anyone experience this and if so why is it happening to me?

I had gastric bypass 6-16 and was sick in the beginning to be expected however as I began to lose weight I had tons of energy. I would wake early in the day and walk like crazy drinking tons of water. One day out of the blue I couldn't get out of bed and have been sick ever since. I had a transfusion Bc I had a bleeding ulcer. Now this past week I can hardly move. I keep trying to get help but the Drs I see keep pushing me back to my surgeons office which I no longer care for. Also I am still unable to eat and can't ever go out Bc I get so weak and tired. My surgery was also Bc of severe gerd.

Just a helpful tip for those of you that suffer from constipation. I was constipated for 3 weeks straight. I had taken 4 gallons of Go Lyte Le, 6 bottles of magnesium citrate, gastrograph, 4 water enemas and several suppositories. NOTHING WORKED!! Finally I was reading a blog and a women who was in the same place as me and also had surgery swore if you drank 1 Mountain Dew it would work. Well I know I'm not supposed to have soda or sugar but was desperate. I did it and oh my goodness IT WORKED!!!

I am now currently 9 months out and I am losing to much weight to fast. I am having a hard time keeping solids down. Almost everything I eat comes back up. I am going to see a GI specialist who is familiar with the Pace Maker for the stomach. Has anyone else had this problem?

Pissed Off and Rebelling
pdallariva replied to clevergirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did you call your insurance company directly? I called and they confirmed that I did not have to wait the 6 months. I was able to bypass the waiting period. Also, just an FYI if you see your shrink and express this anger they may not give approval to have surgery. It is a huge life changing event. Hang in there! -
No there was no dumping
-
It should be carbonated

I have had lots of troubles since my surgery in 06/2016. I am now seeing a colorectal surgeon and most likely will have a Pace Maker into my Stomach for a redundant colon. Has anyone had this before?
