I am going to post my original post and then add to it! PLEASE READ Hey All! I had a huge change today in regards to my health. From my original post I was in the ER on 2/13 and I was told I had a iliac obstruction. The hospital told me that I would be admitted and if within 48 hours it has not moved they would cut it out. I waited until in the am and still no X-ray. I was getting annoyed and called everyone I could call. Finally someone from the administrative staff came to my room. I was told that I needed more X-rays. I was pissed beyond belief and refused them. I signed out AMA. I headed back to my hospital Cleveland Clinic Weston. There I was brought in immediately and given fluids and pain meds. I did end up doing another X-ray by my surgeons request. So I just had my X-ray and will be updated later tonight. I will keep everyone updated! Oh one last thing. Each time I had them put in an IV my site would swell and hurt. They tried 3x and all failed. So when I was complaining about pain I wasn't even getting it was because all the meds were stuck there and I wasn't getting the meds. Uggggg I made it to the Cleveland Clinic after checking out AMA and ended up checking out AMA as well from Cleveland Clinic. I am beginning to think I am losing my mind. While at CC (cleveland clinic) I did a colonoscopy prep as my dr said I was completely impacted. Also all pain meds were taken away as the dr said it's only making it worse. When I saw my surgeon he told me that he would make sure I was well and he would do anything to help me. Well yesterday one of the fellows came in and said oh we are going to keep you until Sunday to make sure then you can go home. I was so pissed I left AMA. Does anyone think I'm crazy? Don't you think he should of did surgery to look inside to find out what's going on? Now about an hour ago I called CC Bc my pain is back in full force and I have not had a BM on my own as of yet. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those who have been reading my post I have a BIG update. I have been complaining nonstop to my doctors and been to the ER 100x with neausea, vomiting and severe abdominal pain. I went to the ER today and was treated and sent home. When I went to get into bed my stomach started to hurt badly again. I went back to the ER and and there happen to be a new ER dr that I have never seen before. He suggested another CT scan and at first I refused Bc I have had about 6 of them in the past 2 weeks. He explained to me when you have Bariatric Surgery you should be well aware you could be subjected to several CT scans. So I hesitantly agreed. He said he was going to use contact dye orally and IV but this time instead of eating for the contrast to pass he wanted to get the scan within 5 minutes of drinking. Well wouldn't you know a bowel obstruction appeared. I am happy and upset at the same time. However I will still be following up for my thyroid testing but feel a bit relieved that I'm not crazy!! So if you have any issues and you keep getting kicked around don't give up and keep on pressing!!!

Small Bowel iLeus & Epiploic appendicitis
pdallariva posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Has anyone else had this problem? I have been in the hospital since Monday now. I keep asking what's going on and everyone keeps passing the buck. Does this problem go away quickly as they say it will or will surgery eventually occur? Any help with this would be great. -

I have the same issues. I hardly eat at all, drink very little, take in no protein and no vitamins. I do have several medical issues going on but I would definitely keep in contact with your nutritionist. There is also a new yogurt out packed full of protein. Best of Luck.

Sorry thought I meant Zofran

What would you do differently?

I agree on everything especially the cloths. I went garage sale crazy finding cheap clothes that only fit for a week. -
I am 8 months out and for about the last 4 months or so I sweat heavily out of nowhere. I can be sitting for 5 minutes and stand up and my shorts will be wet and the chair looks as if I peed on it. Does anyone else have this problem? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

That really made me think. When I lived in Ohio I remember the dr saying he felt a lump in my neck.

The only thing I would of done differently was not make a bunch of jello and buy food before. I ended up throwing all the jello away and since your taste buds WILL CHANGE do not buy bulk food that you used to like Bc chances are they will taste different and you will not like them. -
I just wanted to thank everyone on here for being a great support system for me.

I have had my thyroid checked when I was overweight and it came back showing levels that I should be under weight. I actually put in a request for my primary care to refer me to an endocrinologist.

I am 8 months out and have been having severe constipation. While in the ER one of the surgeons did a rectal exam and said that he had never seen a case like mine. I was told I have a Redundant Colon. I went to see a Colorectal Surgeon and was given a pill to swallow. The pill has a bunch of markers and I will take two X-rays to see where there are at. Has anyone done this before? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

You will not fail I promise! Stay on here and ask away!! This is my support group. When you have cravings for chocolate don't ever tell yourself no just take one morsel of a chocolate chip and let it melt on your tongue. That will ease your mind. As far as eating to much I still do this at times. You will finally get tired of the puking and your mind reset telling you No! I hope this helps. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I just read your post and I went through the same thing. I took in no protein, no food and hardly and liquids. Nothing ever helped. I am 8 months out and still get sick. I do not even take vitamins and I'm still here. This is something you will have to figure out on your own. I try foods that I'm not supposed to eat and mostly they stay down. Example 1/2 of a Ritz cracker and 1/3 cup juice. It will all work out for you I promise. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I am 8 months out and since the beginning 8 months ago I have been having severe nausea and vomiting. I am to the point that I do not even eat much at all anymore. I have been to the ER and admitted to the hospital more times then I like to know. I have tried Zofran 8mg under my tounge, Zofran 8mg Pills, Reglan, Benadryl, and Tygan. The only thing that works now is IV 4mg Zofran. I am allergic to Compazine. I am looking into having a nurse come to my home to place an IV to give fluids n Zofran. Has anyone else experienced this? I am currently 8 months out. It was a really rough start but I made it. I would wake every am walk dogs 3x and have tons of emergency. Well starting Jan 16 I started feeling ill which came out of nowhere. I went to the er and they told me I had an appendix which is impossible Bc I do not have a appendix. So I was admitted 3 separate times and at one point. I am currently in the cleveland clinic getting tons of test. I will keep you in touch. I refuse to put the dogs outside. Yes. I dropped more then 100lbs in 6 months. I hardly eat but try to get in liquids. From day one I have never been able to tolerate Protein drinks nor able to take Vitamins and I can say it's a rough road but I'm still losing weight. I do no exercises except for 1-3 1/2 hour walks 7 days a week. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
